The burns on her shoulder are still smoking. they're slag from the sword she is holding in her hand in the picture. The band on her right boot could totally be there. I don't know. it's dark.
I have no idea what you're talking about with the hedrons thing though.
Look at her hand. She has this like metal slag burnt into it. It could be from the sword but it could just as easily be implanted Hedrons like what she threw into Ob Nixilus.
She made the Hedrons of Zendikar (to imprison the Eldrazi) after all.
And it makes sense that future stoneforge mystics would dress like her. She's a hero to them.
This would have been way before, timeline wise. Nahiri is very much dead (of old age) in the current timeline. Predates Elspeth and New Phyrexia and all that.
I can almost guarantee they did that art intentionally, planned for them to be the same people, then realized for plot reasons it wouldn't add up, so changed it.
I'm onto their game.
ALSO: From the moment they revealed Teferi I told my friends I hoped black would be Ob Nixilis before having his spark extinguished. I am so happy.
I liked Nahiri and Freyliese. I'm sad to see that Teferi doesn't even pseudo-"Phase" (i.e. exile) since phasing was totally his thing. I just don't see much "temporal" on him. But I like that him (as a character) was chosen.
I really wanted to see Serra, Baron Sengir (or his master; I know he was never a walker, sadly), Ravi...maybe even a planar chaos shifted Slobad instead of this made up goblin welder thing. The red walker is really dissapointing. Why no Jaya Ballard?!
Having a commander that can tutor is REALLY strong. Even ones that can only tutor cards printed in 2 blocks with extremely limited non-competitive capabilities (see: Lin Sivvi is a VERY competitive commander). Any commander that can tutor is strong. Zirilan of the Claw can even make mono-red viable in a competitive multiplayer setting. And don't get me started on Zur.
Maralan of the Mournsong is even pretty strong and she lets your opponent tutor a card first.
If they made a planeswalker that could tutor and be your commander it'd be banned so fast.
"Avatar" Tribal. Literally every big permanent I could find that costs over 5 that I like, at least 20 of them being Avatars, and cascade spells into Hypergenesis/Eureka.
"Evil" Rebels: Does the infinite life combo then spends the life on a bunch of stuff. Recursion with Children of Korlis and "when a creature you control dies" effects means I'm regularly "sacc-ing my children."
Mono-Red Dragons: Big red dumb dragon toolbox. Can instant speed out a worldgorger with an Aramgeddon/Apocalypse on the stack to save all my permanents. Can go infinite tutoring up Minion Reflector and using Worldgorger to get out every dragon in my deck with unlimited mana and unlimited hasty copies of Zirilan being generated! (Will usually then just kill with Hellkite triggers.)
"Fuck I'm Mana Screwed": over 50 forests in this deck. And cards that put most forests into my hands. I just sit there acting like I'm stuck on three land until I get seven in my hand, then I play my commander, tutor out tons of lands and get hundreds of mana to spend on...well Hurricane is a fan favorite. Especially with its beta wording of "All players Suffer X Damage". So much suffering. So much Meguka.
Radha swings for 21+ on turn 3 regularily. Just tons of pump spells. She's the only creature in the deck (ok no I have one blighted elf for the poison alt-wincon and some creatures that I can discard from my hand to pump radha). The idea was "I want an EDH deck based around Giant Growth".
