Sniffles and cries echoed through the dank, dark halls of the Maggot's nest as its' prisoners slowly withered to dust. Yet, among the darkness lay a peculiar Shinigami, young in appearance, who donned nothing but a pair of raggedy, torn pants and intricate tribal tattoos on his upper body. His hair was pulled up in a sloppy pony tail by a string of cloth which he had possibly torn from the leg of his pants. His head hung off one end of the stone bed while his feet kicked lightly off the other as he hummed softly to himself. Unlike many of the inmates, his body was not withered and decrepit, but just as muscular and defined as it had been the day he was tossed into this pit. His eyes danced slowly about his little cubby-hole before they darted passed the bars that held him in as a soft glow of light came swaying down the hallway. A small grin perked up in the corner of his lips as the faint sound of footsteps followed the little light all the way to his cell.
"Wakahisa Siri, you've been released under order of the captain..." a stern voice erupted from an equally rigid face which glared down at the seemingly harmless prisoner who rocked slowly on his rump before forcing himself upright to make eye contact with the guard. The grin slowly slid from one corner of his mouth to the other before breaking into an innocent smile, "Who, me?" He replied with a slight upward inflection in his words as he cocked his head to the right, as if to mock the man. To which he merely groaned and rolled his eyes, "A group will be down to escort you soon..." before he strode off and the light from his torch swayed away against the grungy walls before vanishing and plunging Siri's surroundings into the same pitch black darkness that encased him before.
Falling back onto his concrete sheets, Siri couldn't contain a soft chuckle as he kicked his feet in the air and pondered aloud to himself, "Now what could the Captain possibly want with little ole' me, I wonder? Last I checked he was still rather cross with me for what I had done to that poor traitor..." His mood soured for a split second as he recalled the same pitiful look on the Rogue's face before he hacked his head from his shoulders before the smile broke back on his lips. "Maybe they've come to realize their error and reward me for my good deed... OH! I might even be promoted..." At this he cackled a dry-throated laugh which sent him into an unpleasant coughing fit, causing the malnourished male to fall off of his bed and onto the stone floor. Hunched over on his hands and knees it took him a moment to catch his breath, but the silence after his fit was soon broken by a distant whine from down the hall. "Oh, shut it!" He yelled back, utterly fed up of this place, though he had been rather complacent over the past two centuries. Perhaps the mere thought of freedom sparked something in the boy that had not been there for a long time. Slowly rising to his feet, Siri stood tall and proud as he awaited his release, a devilish smirk hanging lightly on his optimistic expression.
Soon a light could be seen reflecting off the walls as it had done hours before and the echo of several footsteps could now be heard. Closing his eyes lightly, crossing his arms behind him, Siri bowed his head as the individuals came to a halt before him, but something was off. No one spoke, nor did they move to open his cage. the scent that drifted into his nostrils was not what he remembered. In fact it was far too... feminine to be his old Captain, and as he looked up, peaking through one eye, he was shocked to find a youthful woman before him. Long black hair, dull eyes and an expression that lacked exactly that. Siri quirked a curious brow as his arms fell to either side and his jaw opened the slightest bit as he averted his gaze to the guards who accompanied her. "Who the fuck is this? A sacrificial offering?" Though his response was comical in nature, he continued in a tone both equally astonished and infuriated, but with few words. "Where is the Captain?" Clearly displeased with his words, the guard which stood to the right of the young woman stepped forward and jabbed through the bars with the blunt end of his spear and caught Siri in the ribs, causing him to double over and grunt an extremely irritated curse back as the man spoke. "This is the Captain, scum! Show respect!"
Unable to control himself, his head still bowed as the pain slowly subsided, Siri began to laugh. Softly at first, but soon it grew into a mad cackle like before, but this time he was not cut short by a fit of hacking. Rising back to his feet, he wiped at his eyes as if the mere notion brought him to tears. "You've got to be kidding me... what could this woman have done to best the Captain? Was it a cooking contest? Did she out-bake him?" His prodding continued like this for a few minutes before he simply fell back onto the floor and shook his head in disbelief. Propping his body up with his elbows, he stared up at the girl with the same curious stare he had given the guard earlier. Head cocked to the right, he cleared his throat and spoke in a very different tone now, soft and respectful, just as the man had suggested. "Tell me, Captain... What reason could you possibly have for pardoning a traitor like myself?" His bright eyes shown up at her with a yellow tint as a smirk returned to his lips. The dull lighting left much of her form to the imagination, but despite her somewhat stern demeanor there was an odd beauty about her.
