Quality is still lacking. Rob, did you even proofread that before you sent it to me?
We never established that a normal human can be taught his powers. We did establish that Quincy x Quincy as well as Quincy x Human yields a Quincy offspring.
A total of under 1k Quincy seems a bit meh, but okay. I think Ine once did a great mathz to arrive at a number, but its not that important
The main enemy of the Q are the Hollow, that’s why toe to toe with an Espada would probably make more lore sense (I do see how naming Bankai makes it easier for ppl to place their power level)
Q & S hate each other cause the later slaughtered the former and the former messes with the balance the later is supposed to uphold -> interesting plot point: does that balance even exist? The S are a military dictatorship that has existed for millennia. Last thing they want is for the status quo to change. Q change the status quo. Who knows, maybe even good shit would happen if souls get regulated
The church is a doubled edged sword. On the one hand they let them do their Hollow Hunting shtick on the other the Q are clearly supernatural. So making it seem like they all became Christians at one point is something I personally would advice against. You could make it so that the Q enjoyed their height during the witch hunts in Europe, that prompted the S to take action and the consequential culling forced the Q to go all Illuminati
During their witch hunting times, when they were at their peak, they had a king
After the culling and with the advent of the modern age they used the council system
A year ago the monarchy was re-established to respond to the growing threads of the spiritual world
(Ine and) I called Hueco Mundo ‘die Anderswelt’; over the years I made up a few German terms to describe the world from a Quincy’s POV. It might be fun to do that as a little glossary/drop it in there, or it might be too much.
Lore you wrote:
There were Q. Some roamed the earth, others stayed put. Their powers could be taught & they reliably produced offspring with powers. At some point there were too many of them, so S introduced population control. That made many Q mad. Some joined the church. Then they went underground. Join now become member of this exciting faction! Oh yeah, and a Q who is as strong as S Captain is called “Sternritter”. Just, you know, if you ever make it that far.
Did I forget something? If not, then let’s look at this:
Whom are the Sternritter serving? Is that a title you get when you grow in skill/experience like a Black Belt, or is it a rank bestowed upon you by someone? Who? Why not give the Quincy some mythological figures to aspire to? To tie them together and give people inspirations to base their Q on. Everyone knows Gin, Aizen, Kenpachi. Let’s say some of the most famous Quincy of all times include Siegfried the Dragonslayer, Lancelot Du Lac, Vlad Tepez, Hansel & Gretel, Robin Hood, Abraham van Helsing, Viktor Frankenstein, etc. Suddenly you gave people a ‘wow’ factor and made that faction feel that much more ‘real’. Those are names they know. That’s shit they can aspire to/want to reenact and suddenly a lot of ‘real world lore’ has a twist. Q exploits were so awesome and influential that they are remembered to this day. However, the S were so good at the genocide game, that nobody remembers anymore that those ppl were Q and that shit happened; that fairy tales are real.
Q used to live in the shadows, grew to be mankind’s knights in shining armor, and now are but what’s left of their former glory. Why do these ppl cling to those old ways though when they’ve caused them nothing but grief and harm? Cause all those horrible stories ppl used to tell each other, that we watch horror movies about nowadays, are fucking real. And all that stands between you and your nightmares is a Quincy.
Why is it important that a lot of Q are in Japan? We know the Ishida family. We know Ichigo’s mom, who was part foreigner. You already got the Asian appeal covered with the S, cut the crap and just stick to Europe, the Old World, it fits their flair much better. Ppl can still make Asian Q and bedazzle us, but suddenly you don’t have to do an awkward lore split anymore. There were demon hunters who traveled the world in pursuit of prey. That’s how they spread through the world. End of story.
EDIT: You sent me that via PM and were too impatient to await my reply (I am guessing?) hence, here we go
So, before this violently snowballs: That lore was written using information provided by Weylin. If it's missing something, that's because it wasn't included in what I was sent.

It looks like you two have a bit of a misunderstanding. For the sake of not monopolizing the thread with a single train of discussion, I think you two should double-back on that PM and sort things out. Once you guys have a completed product, jump back in!
Out of the blue I was PM'd a list of things to which I've already given my feedback. Rob took it back to the drawing board and PM'd me again yesterday, but instead of waiting for my feedback he posted this and put my name on it.
That's not okay.
Cause this is not at all what I am used to from BG staff in many aspects.
No harm done, I will post that reply in the PM again and you can do us all a favor and delete this thread.

This is not a finished product, nothing we have posted is. This is why we have posted it here in Site Discussion and not rules, because we want your guys feedback to improve.
You're right, they're not finished, but as I've pointed out once before, this is supposed to be the product of four months' work. This is supposed to be close to a final draft. The "oh but it's not finished we want ur input XD" excuse is super weak.
For Quincy in particular, BG has made the mistake of ignoring the thoughts of several key members in the past and the race has suffered because of it. We've got a history of very few consistent Quincy players who have almost singlehandedly dragged the race into relevance.
Consider this a reminder of who you're writing all this information for.
Okay, first thing's first, All of Colin's grammar stuff was done. Some lore edits were done, here are the edited sections with the new/modified bits being bold.
Yet the growth of their numbers led to a divide among the Quincy. Some Quincy settled down, forming large families that stayed in the same geographical location. These families focused on protecting their own from the hollows that endlessly sought them out, developing a rigid militarized culture in the process. Other Quincy rejected this stationary life, choosing instead to live as gypsies and nomads. These Quincy would travel the world, killing hollows and spreading their gift. Some of these nomadic Quincy found themselves associated with the church, which provided them with a comfortable lifestyle in exchange for their services. Yet their relationship was tenuous, as while the church provided these Quincy patronage, their clearly supernatural ways lead to palpable tension and prevented the Quincy from completely assimilating with the religious order. This schism was only deepened by these Quincy developing their own hierarchy, and crowning a secret monarch.
The nomadic Quincy had spread their ways far and wide. From Europe to Japan to the New World, Quincy had taken root everywhere. While the Quincy way spread, they had also been busy refining new ways of combating the hollow threat, developing powerful Artifacts and fearsome spells. The Sanrei was invented, and with it the Quincy begin to reach entirely new peaks of power. The development of Letzter Stil and Vollständig had given the Quincy the edge they needed to stand toe to toe with a Shinigami wielding Bankai. They had found power never before imagined, but it was to be their downfall.
Most major Quincy houses were decimated and those that stood were left a tiny shell of their former selves. The remaining number reached out, bringing the handful of families they could find into the fold. Together they formed a council of elders to adjudicate matters before spreading themselves thin to avoid the risk of another Shinigami onslaught.
These changes were made based off a few facts I've been given but edit #3 required assumption, as all I've been told on that front is the monarchy was pre-culling and at some point at or after the culling they turned to a council.
I've been told that they re-established the monarchy a year ago but I don't have enough info to add that to the lore yet so that's pending more information. Once I get it, mentions of the council in the 'The Modern Quincy' section will be properly redressed and will no longer contradict earlier sections.
I hear there's a copy of lore some Quincy have cobbled together we still haven't been made privy to it so if someone could send me that or post it here that would be amazing. While I'm asking for things, if someone could give me some information on the Tsutsugami to add to Modern Quincy I'd love that as they have been the active Quincy presence in Japan.
EDIT: After talking to Kris, apparently the Tsutsugami did nothing noteworthy [his words not mine] Also, talked to Ichiro, got the details regarding the re-establishing of the king will edit that in soonish.

Now that the house keeping is out of the way, I'd like to ask that we try and be somewhat more productive. "This is bad delete it." Isn't helpful. "This is bad because of X" or "X should be changed to Y because Z" would be useful. Nothing posted in the OP is a set in stone fact, it's a WIP pending community input. If you think its bad, state why. If it's missing something, state what its missing. There is nothing productive we can do when we're told "This is full of errors" yet not told what those errors are.
From what I can tell, the major problem here seems to be the communication issues between Weylin as the Mother of Quincy/person who actually knows shit and Robert/Staff.
I'd suggest that we go ahead and wait for Weylin and Rob/Staff to work things out. PM each other, discuss the matters and once that is all finished, you can present us a Version that is more fleshed out and actually approved by the Boss Quincy who knows a thing or two about this. It seemed that Weylin was planning on doing this either way.
After this has happened, you can show us the update. Because as of now, most people don't know shit about Quincy and the purpose of this thread shouldn't be us correcting your grammar and spelling mistakes.
Either way, once you've worked it out you can show it to the community and see if they actually understand what's going on in those rules. Because if they do, you succeeded. Questions can be cleared up and everything will be fine.
Also, do we have to call them 'Monks of Destructions'`? That sounds not as cool as "Dämonenjäger" for example :3 (which translates into Demon Hunters and because of 2x ä it's suuuuper germän!)
this ain't for the best my reputation's never been worse, so you must like me for me we can't make any promises now, can we, babe?
Also, Monks of Destruction is just the canon translation for Quincy, though I suppose Dämonenjäger could be a sub-title, or we could have some other ideas from Weylin.
Motonabe Kai: Well let me be Titus for a second, "Y u no lol?" "Hey you, out there all alone..." Avatar by Cheesewoo. He does commissions! Flick him a PM on Deviantart.
it is possible the Quincy could of made their own Monasteries and made departments. IE: Law enforcement and intelligence , Hollow offensive, Monastery of defense, and ranks Trainee, Adept, Guardian, Master, Councillor, Grandmaster ect ect. Atleast what I read on "churches". And there is many cultures of Quincy who could of called them something else and the world perceived them as Demon hunters/ monks of destruction, exorcists.
Also I made my own Nordic lore (atleast with Iceland) in Frey's app.

You're right, they're not finished, but as I've pointed out once before, this is supposed to be the product of four months' work. This is supposed to be close to a final draft. The "oh but it's not finished we want ur input XD" excuse is super weak.
Sure the excuse is super weak in that context, but it's wrong to assume we posted this and then all sat around editing it every day. That's not a reasonable expectation to levy on any volunteer, let alone 'editors'. In reality, these were all posted to staff at the beginning of July and Tak, Bri, Shun, and myself did most of them in one afternoon. They've each undergone roughly 2 serious 'draftings', which if you know much about editing, is really not much.
We do want your input, because we are volunteer staff on a collaborative writing site that relies on community buy-in to stay relevant. But hey, if you just want me to write a bunch of lore and rules for you that you have to use without compromise....
I know no one is trying to imply that they want that, but we're trying to walk the line here between "Rules For You" and "Your Rules". It's okay to ask if we're near that line or not.
For Quincy in particular, BG has made the mistake of ignoring the thoughts of several key members in the past and the race has suffered because of it. We've got a history of very few consistent Quincy players who have almost singlehandedly dragged the race into relevance.
Yes, we do, agreed completely which is why we are here having debates with the informed members who can provide that info. I've never seen one of them try their hand at creating a new Rules topic for Quincy, (although it could have happened before I joined, or may be happening privately) so if discussing this in a public fashion is a catalyst for rustling enough people to make this happen, that's completely fine.
If your expectation is that all this would be done flawlessly, privately, before ever posting these to the public then I am sorry to disappoint. We've been pushing to get these out in some form for many weeks now, and many community members have been asking for these since May or earlier. You can either wait til December for our volunteer staff to edit these down and refine them, or you can be upset that these aren't perfect, put pen to paper, and help make them perfect right now.
Kyuo is right, sorry to quote him. But why is it strictly German? It could be Germanic heritage. But the how and the whys on getting the power, who gave them it? (plz no Quincy god). Yes I've gathered BG gathered it from the show, but we are not strictly canon. To make lore you need to go down the skeleton, the staff is great and I applaud them asking for help. Once the lore is down, then you can work on the mechanics.
For me, this would take several days in adding my input, because I do not want to step on toes and it's just not one "guy".
It kinda feels insulting that only one person "knows" about the Quincy, yes there are newbs and some haven't been here for 5 years building the stairs for a race.
For Sternritters, I suggest something more custom..but if y'all want to use German stuff, i'll step back.
Well, I was well underway with writing the Shinigami page for you when I stopped and came to my fucking senses: I'm not on staff nor do I ever wish to find myself on it again so why in the world would I do staff work? That's what we have staff for!
Volunteering for staff--and you're absolutely correct, they are volunteers--brings with it a great deal of work and responsibility. If you can't handle what you've volunteered for, perhaps the position isn't right for you? Maybe some of the people you've got working under you, Tokiyo, are people who enjoy their le Staffland sekrit club XD but can't really handle the workload that their access to it entails?
Now, given that these are the Quincy rules I'll admit my interest is limited at best but that's what we've got Weylin for. His opinion has been stated clear as day above, and he just so happens to be one of the members that has been struggling to get Quincy out there and updated multiple times in the past and his efforts have been sneered at--by, granted, not the same people as are currently serving as staff but staff all the same--time and time again.
I'm getting that weird feeling that when Shinigami 2015 finally gets published (in unfinished form, of course), I'm going to be a far cry from impressed and really after four months that's not good enough. It's not. There's no two ways about it.
They say good things come to those who wait. We've waited, where are our good things?
