The Variety Package
On The Surface
Race: Human - Egyptian Ainu
Name: Calypso Nomura
Age / Apparent Age: 26
Gender: Female
Height & Weight: 5'9 & 144 lbs
Hair & Eyes: Black hair, and Blue Eye
Physical Description: Despite Calypso's pedigree, she is a woman of impeccable beauty. A dark-skinned woman, Calypso's complexion follows suit of her father rather than her mother. After getting fit for a dress, it was revealed that she stands at exactly five foot nine inches, making her one of the tallest in her family. Her height however doesn't restrict her from standing out. A beauty, rare among the women of her clan, Calypso does't allow her appearance to define her. She strongly believes that the appearance of someone is just a way to manipulate their first impressions that they have on you. Even then, with her saying been said, she contradicts herself and keeps herself up quite well.
Calypso is a slender young woman with a powerfully athletic figure. She has wide shoulders and hips, a narrow waist, and long legs. Her features are rather feminine as she possesses elegantly arched eyebrows, a soft jaw line, small nose, and a narrow chin. However, she frowns almost constantly, furrowing her eyebrows and setting her mouth in a firm line, creating a formidable expression. She does not wear much makeup due to personal distaste, as well as her unwillingness to mask the deep tones of her skin, and will only wear colorful nail polish and lip-gloss. Calypso is fit to be the mistress of any and every man. Her pupils are a shining light colored deep blue sea quartz, looking sky blue to say the least. Staring into her eyes, is like staring into a future full of eternal wealth. Jewels, gold, and bills alike are what seen through these expensive eyes of Calypso. She bears eyes that any seductress only pray on their knees for. A godly feature that only a few are blessed with.
Her physical appearance is topped off by her brown, free flowing hair. Naturally wavy, her hair is thick, nourished, and well taken care of. Many of her clients simply can't pass up asking for the opportunity to play in her hair. As they use their fingers to brush through it, they meet no barricades most call "tangles". Her hair splits over her forehead, and rests alongside her cheek bones. It's length reaches to about her middle back, which a few years back originally reached to her hips.
Her attire is relatively limited. Consisting mainly of form fitting dresses, or a form of crop top and miniskirt. However, she is almost always wearing black heels with her clothing choice. She is ambidextrous, smells of lilac and gooseberries, and her voice though melodic holds a slight impairment in pronunciations.
Her overall appearance has been compared to many different things. An angel sent by the highest god. A beauty lost in the wrong universe. And finally, the most notorious of all, a goddess. Her sweet and innocent face is said to know no evil. The face of a frail child, that would be lost without proper guidance. Calypso has many different "faces" (appearances) for the occasion set out at hand. Each, beautiful and breath taking in their own way.
Spiritual Description: Calypso's reiatsu is a product of her life. So much so that the memories she forcefully suppresses has molded her soul to become something greater than it originally was. Once her Reiatsu is released, it slowly seeps out from her feet like smoke coming from kindling embers, but just like a fire it soon engulfs her entire body in a wispy black smoke. The way the smoke dances about her makes her look as though she were actually burning, at times the smoke would become thick and hide her body from view for a moment before dissipating. The smell of her Reiatsu isn't a pleasant one depending on your views of humankind. It smells of burning flesh in multitude. Her Reiatsu dances upward to the sky, seemingly unaffected by any natural winds. Her Reiatsu is influenced by her mood. The calmer she is the duller the smell, and appearance of the smoke, but opposite is also true when she is angry.
Behind The Eyes ___
Personality: While feminine before the accident, Calypso, no longer is able to feel as she once did after waking from the coma, assumes that she has died and feels a detachment from her memories from before the accident. She does not have a realistic sense of living, knowing that she is alive while also not feeling that she actually is alive. She hopes to regain herself and the "dead" Calypso, and decides to put on a cold facade. She has a cold, mean, heartless, and merciless personality, appearing to care about nothing, but she occasionally reacts in surprisingly feminine ways. Due to being aware of her abnormality since childhood, being a killer who could not kill, she hated both herself and other people. Developing her cold personality as a result, she secretly wished to experience the happiness of a normal person.
Due to her impulse to kill, she tries to feel a sense of living through killing, but fails to find pleasure in even that. With her uncertain sense of living, she listlessly continues to go traverse Karakura without aim. She can be said to occasionally behave like a "harlet", evidence that she lives by feelings alone. She has an animalistic view towards other people, dividing them into two categories regardless of good or evil. Deciding based upon "those she can be with" and "those she cannot be with", she will stay with someone "she can be with" even if she hates them. Strawberry ice-cream is one of the few things she is fond of, but it is also one of the things that she hates. She despises cold food, but always seems to buy it from the convenience store.
Calypso suffers from a few ailments that aren't particularly negligible. She suffers from an auditory impairment that inhibits nearly 95% of what is around her. Anything that is beyond a few inches of her body can not be heard, within an inch of her body it sounds like very distant shouting, and only with lips near her ear does it register as someone across the room speaking to her. She can hear her own voice, but even that isn't clear. However, it allows her to speak without a significant impairment. To make up for her lack of hearing, and the fact that many people don't know sign language, she has learned to read lips.
Calypso suffers from Schizophrenia. When her medication wears off, or within intense moments of stress, she has strong delusions from her past. This can be full immersion, or simple projection. However, her reaction to these events lead her to question not only her delusions, but reality itself.
Positive Qualities: Steadfast: "I told myself I would, so I'm gonna"
Calypso is sound in her decisions and once made they can not be unmade. This makes her a reliable woman, if she so chooses to side with you. On the other side, she could be their worse nightmare if she seeks to ruin them. No matter the outcome, she does it with her earnest and full attention. To her it would be highly irresponsible to half-ass anything she wanted to accomplish.
Calm: "..."
Probably the most fascinating and disturbing thing about Calypso, is her eerie sense of calm. Seldom does she anger to the point of predictable actions. The eerie nature behind her calm is the sense of unease she instills in others as if she is lying in wait to attack at a moments notice and yet she seems so aloof.
Inventive: "I could tell you, but first...let's play a game!"
Seldom does she tackle her problems in a fashion the isn't amusing. Why does she do the things she does? Simply put, because it produces an interesting reaction. If it's interesting and meets the goal, why not do it differently? Why become trapped in the mundane rut of normal routine? She is a true "off-the-beaten-path" type of person.
Curiosity: "Hmm...how did you do that?"
Her curiosity knows no bounds. Once peaked, she invests her energy in understanding how and why it works. The more confusing the object the happier she becomes. It's this thirst to understand things that drives her to become better than she already is. It is also this drive that causes her to do things, one would never usually do. For good or bad, her curiosity is her most powerful trait.
Cunning: "Just...a little...closer"
As stated above, she is inventive, but an inventive mind means nothing if you haven't the vision to bring it to life. Calypso is vastly intelligent when it comes to swaying and influencing her environment. That extends to not only people, but things both organic and inorganic. She can think of multiple outcomes and plan accordingly to ensure her target falls into her web, and once they become entangled escape is nigh-impossible.
Negative Qualities: Curiosity: "Cooool. I didn't know that could bend that way!"
A dual-edged sword to be sure. Her curiosity can get the better of her at times. Leading her into predicaments that could easily have been avoided, but she went along only to find out what would happen. She'll never do so with the express intention of getting herself killed, but it leads her to foolishly test her luck at times.
Brutal: "You're...To think you give me an opportunity to end you..."
Calypso is not a being of mercy. She tends to do things to absolution. If she resolves to kill you, she will make sure that not even your soul will be reusable. However, she is not benevolent enough to simply kill them. Her inner cat makes her toy with her prey before completely finishing them, even pretending to be uninterested only to inflict a grievous wound upon them. Slowly breaking their spirit before their spine.
Manipulative: No, no, no, no. When I say stay...you...don't...move"
Calypso makes it a hobby to cause mischief whenever feasible and would bring no adverse effects upon her or her work. She likes to toy with the minds and hearts of others mostly out of curiosity of their reactions. She'll even go as far as to make bonds with others in order to get to one person in particular and ruin them with subterfuge.
Psychotic: "I'm bored...something should explode"
Her mental stability and integrity is always in question. One day you may be friend, the next you could be foe. Her moods aren't as set as stone as one might think, and what's more is she will never let on about your status with her until its too late to prepare for her wrath or boredom. Her motives behind anything can vary greatly, and can wax or wane depending on a whim of circumstance.
Rude: "This is seriously fucking annoying..."
Her mannerisms and vernacular can be coarse to say the least, and they may come at unwarranted times. Swearing is a passive thing in Calypso's casual sentence structure, and her comparisons can be rather shocking to the unsuspecting. What's worse is she holds no thought for those around her, only seeking to get her point across in a manner that befits her mood.
Strength Of The World ___
Power: Calypso is capable of wrapping herself in a cloak of smoke and then dissipating into the air. Her body literally turns to smoke and she becomes intangible to all things around. The perfect escape from reality and the world. Her power is a direct reflection of her desire to disappear. Her power is more than what it seems, the smoke that is seen is her forcing herself outside of time and space. Essentially, she is erasing her presence however in order from completely eliminating herself she burns through her Reiryoku producing the appearance of smoke. The downside is the lack of oxygen in this form, her form can only be maintained for as long as she can hold her breath.
- As a beginner, she can only perform the basics with her ability. This means she can only fully become intangible. It also takes considerable energy just to concentrate on maintaining the ability to not fall through the Earth. The requirement needed to focus makes time a factor to release her power properly.
- As a Basic user, she has begun to understand the nature of her power and the usage of her power. As such, walking is no longer a chore for her. Movement is something that is natural to her once again. She can now begin experimenting with using other skills now, such as Hoho.
- As an Intermediate user, she's beginning to strive for more. Improving her control over her power allows her to release with less concentration. She can begin to extend her field of intangibility onto those things she touches. Albiet, it takes time to fully encompass the extensions, it can be done. However, the larger the object the more time it takes.
- As an Advanced user, she can release her power with a simple breath. Also, extending her field of intangibility takes about half as long as it did before. She can now experiment with her power. Learning how to shift only parts of her body instead of her entire being.
- As a Master user, activating her power is instinctual, and extending it to something else requires only a thought to accomplish. Her power is completely and utterly under her control and if she can touch it, it is subject to her power. At this level, she is like a phantom. Untouchable unless she chooses to be.
- As a Grandmaster user, she can do things she couldn't before. She can extend her intangibility on anything her eyes rest upon. However, the difference in this power is that it can be held almost without limit. The only way to restore the item would be to render her unconscious or force her to release her power on it. However, it should be noted that her power will not work on the living.

History: Let me start by saying that this story will not be pleasant, happy, nor does it merit sympathy. This isn't a sob story. This is life in it's purest form. Hell.
Calypso Ubabuko Nomura, was born March 3rd, 1989 at 4:37 a.m. to one Huisak Nomura. Her father wasn't around at the time, in fact, a few months back he simply vanished as soon as Huisak had fallen in love with him. You see...her father, as her mother told her, was an adventurer. An exciting lie to tell a child to reasonably explain extended absences, but that lie would only work for so long. In fact, it only works so long as the child believes that lie. For Calypso, it only lasted five years.
You see, even young, Calypso knew how cruel the world was. You see, Calypso attended public school and being of both Egyptian and Ainu brought her nothing but a world of hatred. The Ainu are a tribe of black Japanese indigenous to the land. However, they are looked upon as mongrels. So when asked, she had to explain about her father being an adventurer. Children being children, completely destroyed the lie constructed by her mother. Distraught, Calypso confronted her mother about the lie and her mother refused to speak on it.
To no surprise, Huisak fell ill and soon died. There was no funeral, no mourning, no family. Ainu were so isolated and spread apart in the north of japan that families tried to spread apart in order to protect themselves from being completely wiped out. So there stood a six year old Calypso, standing over the corpse of her mother. Her father no where to be found, not that she could find him if she wanted to. All she ever received was a name her mother bestowed on her in honor of her father. However, Calypso found no honor in a man who abandoned her before her birth.
So she packed the things she could carry and set ablaze her home. She stood watching the fire for a time. It was beautiful. The way the smoke bellowed from the dancing fire. She turned and proceeded on her way, but to where she didn't know. Her thoughts, she had a few weeks to live and then she would die in the streets. That was her plan, unless by some divine intervention someone came along and saved her. As luck would have it, she did have someone come and save her...but it wasn't pleasant.
Calypso spent the majority of her time in an abandoned church near the city, quickly becoming friends with the stray cats that lived there. For a time, she lived as a street child. As if assuming the role of her parents, the strays kept her warm and fed her to the best of their ability. And though at times, she did in illness fall to near-death, Calypso possessed no desire to leave that place that became her new home. She knew in the depths of her heart that the cats would never hurt her, never abandon her.
For six years, the barefooted girl slept with her cats before the fallen cross. You may think it was a blessing, but what God would subject a child to that? Anyway, in her seventh year strangers came and took her from her home and brought her to a dark place. From that day forth...she lived a different life. The strangers referred to her as "lil bitch." That was to be her role. At first, she felt it rather pleasant. She was content in the knowledge that she no longer needed to search for food, or clothing. However, she was quickly disillusioned.
In the dark place, there were degenerates...to them she was but an instrument at which they could unload their stress. Broken bones and bruises became a normality. And then one day...in her twelfth year three degenerates entered her room as usual, and tore from her the only dress she possessed. That day she was violated...however after that day she was to play a different role. They began to pump her full of drugs to keep her docile and controllable, but during this time her mind would slip from her body.
Time flew passed, and in her sixteenth year she awoke to her ears ringing. Her head bloody, body scraped up, burns across parts of her body, and an intense heat coming from behind her. She looked at the warehouse that was ablaze. "Beautiful" She could barely make out her own voice. She was deaf...or as close to one could be. She didn't even notice the police show up until the seen was lit-up like a light show.
She was arrested, but not charged with anything. She had no memory of the last four years of her life. With no charges and no relatives, she was placed into a orphanage. However, this too wasn't a the break that Calypso was looking for, she only found persecution and hatred her entire time there. With the exception of few, she was hated for what she was. She was beat up on, picked on, and tormented. She never lashed out, but she fell into a gang outside of the Orphanage.
She began participating in cage fights with other females in gangs, and transitioned into drug use. So it came as no surprise that on her eighteenth year, she left the orphanage and became a street worker. If she wasn't selling herself, she was pushing drugs, or other illegal items. Due to her lifestyle and problems with her health, she visited a "Doctor" regularly. Taking a drug that evens her out to almost near complacency. She's lived this way until now.
Roleplay Sample: Calypso sat at the bar, swirling her drink around to the bass of the music. She could faintly hear the booming music that surrounded her. Her eyes closed as she tried to extract the melody from the fogginess of her hearing. However, it wouldn't matter. This was the limit of her hearing. Everything sounded garbled and the electronics only irritated her tinnitus. She sighed and raised her glass to her lips, but not before a man reached out to catch her attention. She looked toward the owner of the limb, and noticed he was in mid-sentence. How long had he been talking? She glanced down to his lips and began to read them with relative simplicity. "all alone. Perhaps you need some company?'
She looked on and noticed the emphasis on certain words didn't make sense to the conversation. Intoxication. He was slurring words while trying to appear coherent. Detestable. These types of people only ended up as trouble, but they were the easiest to manipulate. She pushed her bill over to the man and he smiled. Fumbling with his wallet he paid cash for the drinks, she noticed he had quite the amount in cash. She placed her drink down and wrapped her arm around his. She leaned in close to him and whispered into his ear, "Shall we go somewhere to get acquainted?"
It didn't take too long to get him to his car, and make him drop his keys. She quickly thrust her knee into his chin and knocked him unconscious. She feigned concern as she pulled out his wallet and slipped it into her purse. She began to call for help and as people came over to see what was the trouble. She stood and began to feign being distraught. It wasn't long before someone called for an ambulance. When the crowd looked around for the woman...she was gone.
