Bleach Gotei on the Silver Screen
It should come as no big surprise to many of you that I am—or was, perhaps—a bit of a cinephile. I regard cinema as one of the highest art forms imaginable, and one of the most versatile: there is very little you can't do in 35mm (deprecated, I know, but it's a figure of speech) and a very large part of modern culture—both the good and the bad—comes from film.
Naturally, I have spent my fair share of time taking characters from BG and inserting them into movies, and while sometimes I've shared these ideas, I've never really made them public. They were simply random ideas, sometimes single scenes, not really deserving of mention to anyone outside of a small circle of select individuals.
Tonight, however, I visited my mother and the two of us went to see a screening of The Rocky Horror Show being broadcast live from London (it was fucking spectacular, thank you for asking), and I was reminded of just how much I loved the motion picture version. Naturally, on my way home, I pulled it up on my phone and began watching.
It then struck me that the perfect way to open a thread wherein we share (often retarded) ideas on which cast we could replace with BG characters is to start with the greatest film of them all:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Or indeed, The Rocky Horror Bleach Gotei Show
It's not a tremendously long cast list, but we've got some gems here.
Tim Curry played the eccentric Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite scientist who has succeeded in creating life where others have failed. I have one character in mind here that I think fits perfectly: Alter Tova Diabló.
Our hero and heroine, Brad Majors and his fiancée, Janet Weiss (played by Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon), two young, ordinary, healthy kids who have left Denton in search of an ex-tutor and now friend of theirs but unknowingly set into motion a night that they would remember for a very long time could only be played by Jasper Aizawa and the lovely Kiriko Chinda, respectively.
The servants—Riff Raff and Magenta, played by Richard O'Brien and Patricia Quinn—are delightfully bizarre characters on their own, but these shoes were a little harder to fill. In the end, I decided on Erasmus and Rania Odette (when they were both still Arrancar).
Columbia, the groupie played by Little Nell, was easy. She's an incorrigible slut who is cheap, trashy, and sways her hips seductively when she moves. You already know who I picked for this. Yes, it's Seryu Akamine.
Jonathan Adams played Dr. Everett V. Scott, a rival scientist to Frank-N-Furter and an expert on that which we call U.F.O.s (but you knew that already, Brad, didn't you?) and though he's bound to a wheelchair, he's got some fantastic legs. I had some thoughts here but in the end it went to Tokiyo Fujikagi.
Bringing up the rear of the main cast is Peter Hinwood as the eponymous Rocky Horror, Frank-N-Furter's creation: a man, with blonde hair and a tan, good for relieving Frank's... Tension. I was unsure whether I wanted to classify Rocky as an earthling or a Transylvanian (i.e. Shinigami or Arrancar) but I ended up choosing the third option: Weylin von Wolfenstein.
This leaves only two minor characters, the first of which is The Criminologist, portrayed by Charles Gray. As the narrator, he's a little stuffy at first, but he quickly gets into the swing of things, just like Mitsutaka Karahashi did.
The last is Eddie, an ex-delivery boy dudebro biker guy who plays a mean sax and is generally obnoxious. His brain is split between himself and Rocky, and his role is a short one: he is murdered by Frank minutes after his appearance, though not before he has time to sing a song and ride a motorcycle through a gang of Transylvanians. For some unfathomable reason, Columbia is deeply in love with him. Yup. It's Kyousuke Tsukimiya.
And there you have it, The Rocky Horror Bleach Gotei Show.
I can't be the only one who's done this, so fess up, let's hear them.
Also if Seryu comes in here with The Notebook starring Seryu and Kyousuke I will find her and I will kill her
