The first name mentioned offered nothing but a softening of her expression and a suspected familiarity. Worry tinged the look, but she knew of Miyuki, at the very least, and had fond feelings towards her. The latter of the two, however, earned a much different, more humorous look; a twist of guilt mingled with the kind of petty annoyance one might see upon a young student who was just about fed up with getting one of her braids pulled. Acquainted at the very least, that one, and perhaps not exactly in the best of circumstances.
She avoided mentioning Miyuki all together, did her best to protect what she could of the woman's hopefully peaceful life there in Seireitei. "I do not know that Nagisa-san and I would, ahh, see eye to eye." Stiff confession, but she had promised herself and, without speaking as such, the Captain Commander nothing but complete honesty in her opinions. Didn't look at him. Fingers curled slightly against the rough grey-brown bark. "...she did not know, and neither did I, but she is the reason I am in this odd predicament to begin with. Her sword strike should have killed me, and instead turned me into something I have yet to understand."
Maybe he would issue an order with heavy emphasis on not stabbing human beings through the heart and prevent other conflicts from rising up. The gods alone knew her thoughts and feelings as time had gone on. That Shinigami energy had continued to spread and swallow her soul until the two, like the tree before her, had perfectly mingled to form something new.
Which one's the wisteria and which one's the cedar? Amenonuhoko inquired in faux wide eyed innocence.
If only she knew the answer.
Her expression darkened a little at the thought of the other two. "The other two will have... reservations, one might say." She finished for him, flatly. Weariness filled her expression and her forehead lightly bumped against the trunk. Eyes squeezed shut against the tide of helpless frustration and resentment that bubbled up. This wasn't what she'd wanted. Not at all what she had anticipated with an all too rude introduction to the spiritual world and being thrust head first into a war she didn't even want to be a part of in the first place.
"I do not know if he is one of the Vaizard; I have not yet met one in person, but there is something dark within his soul." She offered at first, not turning herself around to see his reaction. Not ready for the potential escalation of conflict that further information might cause. But he needed to know. He needed to avoid another Sakamoto Miki in Seireitei. Another Massacre avoided. Another near city wide destruction planned by those who were supposed to display loyalty and deference to the laws in which they lived.
She forced herself to turn around. Studied the man standing before her with the kind of stiff attempt at ease that suggested a man about to receive a death blow he foresaw long ago.
"He is a second Sakamoto-san in the making; his alliance lies with the King of Hueco Mundo." She really had tried to keep her voice steady. To try and prevent the tears from filling her eyes at being the harbinger of ill tides.
The churn of her stomach intensified. Repressed helplessness and anger shining through jewel colored eyes watching the bald Captain before her in unmistakable belief that she expected him not to trust her word or believe her. She knew what Sakamoto Miki had done to Seireitei. What the former King had done. She knew what Sakamoto Miki and the former King had done to her world as well and the damage done on multiple levels on both sides. She'd experienced the latter first hand, and had personally seen the effects of the former on those she had once held dear.
But, one might wonder, why would she lie now?
She swallowed hard. Tried to convince her stomach to cease its protest and rebellion. The truth would set one free, was that not the saying? "I know of no others at this time, but I would not be at all surprised to find you have traitors in your midst other than him." She had kept eye contact the entire time. Unwilling to risk being called a liar and being forced to show what she could do too early. Her expression almost begged forgiveness for adding to his burden. Almost; but as much as she may have regretted it, there was the spark of determination there that stubbornly remained. Sekai had sworn to do what she needed to in order to protect those she cherished; even if it meant conflict that would put her life at risk.
What Shinigami, or Human, wouldn't do the very same?
