Go poke Kire and force her to let you read some of her solos. She's good at it.
Between you, Jason, Naz, and Weylin, I swear to God I'm going to open up a "Comedy Central: Roast of Kireon" thread when my main is done.

Fanfiction: Are you writing someone else's character/characters in one of your threads? No? Okay. Not fanfiction.
This is a play by post roleplaying site, as a result, you should be focused on roleplaying with other people and having them add to your story, development, and progression as a whole. Collaboration, risk, reward, and unpredictability should be key for those who read your threads. If you can look at a character interaction and know exactly how it's going to go, particularly if said encounter is hostile? Either you've a solid grasp on storytelling, you got really lucky at guessing, you've known those characters for a while, or the writers themselves need to improve and go beyond predictability/the same formulas they've been using to shake things up a bit.
That said?
Solos have a place for some characters. Takua covered the basic rule of thumb as to why they're necessary; they're to show an event that will show something happening that absolutely cannot be done well/properly with another person's presence there within your thread. They're also there to give you some breathing room and pick at a side of the character that maybe isn't shown anywhere but in private or to expand upon an idea, piece of their life, etc that once again, can't be done with another person.
Major developments (Second Power, Prestige, Post-Prestige, Death, etc) should not be done in Solos if at all possible and if you can have someone else's character be the proverbial match that sets off that explosive finale. You want that. Some skills, such as Zanpakuto Resonance, can prove to be a little tricky in this regard due to any inner world shenanigans you might want to bring out and may serve better to be used in a solo rather than collaborative.
EDIT: Site. I wasn't even being sassy this time. Give me a break. Stop karma paging.
