Pretty much. He'll answer to either. Some know him better as Artix, some didn't know him until he was Erasmus. He'll also answer to "Hey there sexy" if you prefer.
I'm asking what you, the player, consider his "true" name
There is no nation of you, there is no nation of me Our only nation lives in lucid dreams Lucid dreams, I’m livin’ in lucid dreams I’m livin’ on shortwave streams tonight
He was Artix, but not anymore. But that doesn't mean that he isn't Artix, if that makes sense. Everything Artix did Erasmus did, there's no separation there. At the same time he's come so far that it makes sense to me to pick his new name over his old name as the dominant "true" name. It means beloved and that carries with it multiple connotations, fits so many themes, and just meshes so well with his story that if I was forced to pick one I'd pick Erasmus. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Erasmus was one of the first characters I read when I joined (The other being Toki), and the plot you were starting as I hopped on the board was my first taste on what the board could do.
Both impressed me to tremendous levels, I haven't been around long enough to say anything on the details of the journey or anything- but the character interested me enough that I took the time to read some of your threads- and keep up with the invasion thread even though I had no personal interest in its outcome.
Adore the character, and your roleplay. You inspired a lot of the new goals I've designed with Gin to some degree, who is a character I've had for four years now and I was beginning to feel a bit stunted on.
Not sure how much that says, but hope it gives you some idea of the respect for your dedication to the character, and the progress you've made thanks to that.
Congratulations, it's well earned in my opinion.

I read Obsession when I first joined who knows how long ago, and I was thoroughly stunned. Great work man. Maybe by the next transcendence i'll have an app ready.
Arty, gosh darn it, how long we've waited for this moment, huh? And what can I say, really, to encompass how much I've loved every second of our time together?
I can't even remember how it all started. If you approached me or I approached you. But one minute I had a side-off character with no real plots or anything interesting to do, and the next I had a story full of life and love and loss and so much darn cuteness! You've always jumped on my ideas with wild abandon, and given me so much room to grow and do my own thing beside your crazy path. I'll never forget how shocked and awed I was that Erasmus wanted to write with me, and how much you let my ideas and my characters become a part of yours. In spite of my common disappearances, you took what I had to give whenever I was around and made the most wonderful heartfelt rending story lines and threw the ball back in my court without even a flicker of doubt when I'd come around again.
That amazing flexibility, and the way your story just twisted and turned and went with every freaking roadblock and shift and surprise really marks who you are as a player. Not just with Erasmus, but as you -- Arty. You've been here forever, and no one can forget that with the way you take anything bad and make it good. Your unending cheer, your excitement, your steady presence. You were the only reason I could even work on staff for as long as I did, and you're still the only reason I keep coming back to write Xiaobei over and over again, because you leave your fingerprints in all of us and we're blessed for all of that.
I can't imagine where I'd be without you, where BG would be, and I am so so proud of you and your achievements.
