I'd say I ran into him on Regent Street when I was last in London, but that'd be a lie
it was actually Bill Nighy
but they're both old dudes right
There is no nation of you, there is no nation of me Our only nation lives in lucid dreams Lucid dreams, I’m livin’ in lucid dreams I’m livin’ on shortwave streams tonight
So, I've been holding off writing anything to these recent Transcendental announcements. Mostly I felt that if I was going to say something, I wanted it to be well thought out and speak to everything I have always wanted to say to the players.
But, I'm going to throw that all out the window and just write.
Tokibro, you came out of nowhere, but you've always had an amazing way of writing. Technically speaking, this achievement comes as no surprise to me. I still remember being so very very happy that you'd want to write with me, back in the very beginning, and trying to scramble to figure out how I could help Tokiyo so he wouldn't want to just transfer out to another division. Half of Kiriko's rage and pain when he went for the Third, I'm sure, was my own sudden dismay at the potential loss. The stories we wrote, and the way those two characters came together, was one of the most enjoyable relationships I've had the chance to write out on BG. I still consider myself one of the luckier Captains ever for having had Tokiyo as my LT.
But beyond all of that, you, as a person, took so much and constantly kept moving forward. Any time something went wrong, or sideways, you learned from it, embrace it, and made things better. It was really an honor to follow your story line and to have had some small part in it. Way back when when you mentioned that you'd maybe like to consider Transcendence, back when there wasn't really anyone who'd done it yet, I remember feeling certain -- right then and there -- that this wasn't a question of if, only when. And you've taken that belief and really come through.
Thanks for choosing to write with us, and for letting me watch this arc unfold as perfectly as it has. It's been amazing, really, and I hope there's so much more to come.
