It had been a while since Yuudai felt like he had any time to relax. Everything has been about rebuilding or dealing with enemies. There's been no time to relax around here. But finally came some down time, and Yuudai had no idea what to do. He stared at the ceiling of his room in the barracks, his hands clasped behind his head. It's been so long since I've had this. What should I do? A thought seemed to burst forth into the forefront of Yuudai's mind: You could always train some more. This wasn't an unbidden thought that randomly came to Yuudai. Since his Zanpakuto, Museihei, was under an oath of silence, Museihei communicated to Yuudai through thought. It comes to Yuudai like any other thought, but comes with his Zanpakuto's spiritual pressure. Yuudai pondered the idea that Museihei had given him. Well, it would get me up and doing something. A few more seconds of consideration was all that was needed for Yuudai to make up his mind. He slowly got up from his bed, his sheets falling off of him. He was already wearing a white t-shirt, but had foregone pants in the comfort of his own room. He went over to his wardrobe, looking for a pair of pants he could use for this workout. In the end, he settled on a pair of black sweatpants that wasn't too thick but also would protect him against bruises and the like. He pulled on his chosen pair of pants and a set of flip-flops that he usually wore when relaxing in his room. He strapped his Zanpakuto securely to his waist and headed out of the door.
It wasn't a long walk down the hallway to the Training Center, and it wasn't particularly busy. Many of the other Shinigami were in their rooms relaxing during their time off. A few walked past Yuudai but that was about it. Many of these people are just glad they get some time off. There's been a lot to do, and not a lot of time to do it. But even though there is a time to relax, there is a time to train, both the body and the mind. Yuudai nodded, agreeing with Museihei. Yeah, but I can see where they're coming from. They deserve the rest. Yuudai came to the doorway into the Training Center, two wooden doors that held inside an impressive number of memories for Yuudai. Man, I've spent a lot of time in here. Yuudai laid a hand on one of the doors, feeling the wood beneath it. He chuckled at some of the unbidden memories that came to him. So many times I got my ass kicked. And yet, you are a better man for it now. Yuudai couldn't disagree with that. He pushed on the door, and as it swung open Yuudai walked into the room.
The first thing to catch Yuudai's eye were the wooden dummies over in the corner. This was where he usually spent a lot of his time while here. He never really had a knack for Kido, and never saw the need to really improve it; however, this wasn't particularly pleasing to Museihei, who constantly berated Yuudai for it and told him that he needed to become practiced in all walks of life. Yuudai moved towards one of the wooden dummies and stood in front of it, its blank face staring back at Yuudai. He braced his feet in a stance, and pulled Museihei from his sheathe. You ready? Yes. Alright, let's go. With this short exchange, Yuudai leapt forward towards the dummy. He executed a combo with quick precision against the dummy: one blow to the head, backhand swing to the middle, and then finishing with a sword block. The dummy held the slashes from the sword within its form for only a few seconds before the Kido placed upon it regenerated the cuts. That always amazes me. Yuudai shook off this thought and went for another combo, then another, and then another. This combo work continued for about 30 minutes, one continuous swing after another against the dummy until Yuudai decided it was time for a little break. He sat down on the ground, wiping some sweat from his forehead. Good form, though you might want to consider adding in some more feints to throw the enemy off. I know. It's a lot easier to do that though if you have an actualy partner instead of a dummy. An image of Museihei smiled popped into Yuudai's mind's eye. Well, who knows? Perhaps fate has prepared a partner for you. Yuudai chuckled. You and that fate stuff again.
