Heilig..... what now?
Jack had never heard these words being used before. If anything, before the things he'd seen, he would have told the man he was in need of mental help. But now, Jack knew this man was definitely saying the truth, Jack just didn't know how process it yet. Then what the man had started to say caught him off guard.
"What's that supposed to mean, my extinction? What do you know of the Order?"
Jack might have been physically weakened right now because of his recent run in with an explosion, but his voice didn't show any of it. If anything it showed the fire and determination in his heart as he almost glared at the man. No one would talk like that about something unless they knew a specific fact or idea. They knew something that was either key to their perception, or the fact they didn't know something. Which was even worse. The most dangerous people were the ones you knew nothing about. Mainly because they were unpredictable. And that's what got people killed. Jack finally spoke, clarifying his point.
"Look, all my life I've been trained to fight, to protect others. I was a US Army Ranger goddammit and I've been everywhere around the world. I've seen the worst this world has to offer. I've seen war's horrors. And nothing I saw was worse than that thing that slaughtered my men without us being able to fight back. Those monsters you call Hollows. I want to know this. Can the Order teach me to fight them? To protect others? I have to do this, I can't just stand by and watch more people die,"
By now he'd recovered enough that he'd managed to stand tall now, and he almost looked ready and rearing for another fight, if his clothes weren't so tore up from the blast.
