Three months had gone by in the blink of an eye, dedicated training with Zabel- waking up, running, returning to bathe and eat- then leading to meditation for hours before training with actual blades and martial arts. It was a slow, steady process- but it had done what he had wanted, three months of dedicated effort had built in the solid habits he was now practically bonded too. Of course, he had returned to Yuuta as promised and begun to show him some of the things he had learned, from Shunpo, to sword techniques, Hakuda, even Kido- something he had discovered he had quite the natural aptitude for. Every few days he would stop by Yuuta's home and practice with the boy, showing him what he'd learned and simply reading a book while he talked.
Mako had gotten used to his antics by now, and it would seem that Yuuta had gotten used to Mako's terrible personality- allowing the young man to be himself. Mako did find one single thing relatively amusing- and that was the difference in their heights. Mako has sprouted like a weed, with proper nourishment and his hunch gone, he was sixteen now- having just recently turned such within the last week; with still plenty of time to grow he was at five foot eight, but Yuuta's height had barely changed. Still, Mako never mentioned it, he didn't see the point in poking the little angry young man and cause a fight for no reason- he was already constantly trying to spar with him, that was tiring enough with him being pouty over him teasing his height.
Still, the difference was constantly emphasized, and today was no different as Mako's hand lifted and lightly cracked against his friends new home- his mother, Yuki, had invested the money he had given them, and they'd moved to a far superior district, which was good. It made these trips visiting him that much easier, far less distance and awkwardness in the travel itself. Tucking his left hand back into the pocket of his simple dark grey slacks, with a book tucked underneath his right arm as he waited patiently, sensing the movements behind the door quietly until it had opened, Yuki getting it and telling him to come in. Needing no further invitation, he would walk in casually, they'd tried to tell him he "didn't even need to knock", but unlike the two idiots, he still had some degree of understanding when it came to personal boundaries.
This was their home, not his. He had no intention of entering without alerting them to his presence, he had however gotten used to the fact that nowadays the door just got opened and then they immediately went back to whatever they had originally been doing. As it stood today, he would enter briefly and close the door behind him before he instead leaned against the wall of the hallway, cracking the book open and returning to his place in the book as he waited for Yuuta's energy to come toward his location, he doubted it would take the young man long. His eyes lifted briefly whenever Yuuta did appear, "We're going to the outskirts today, you should ask Yuki to make you something or you'll be grumpy," he stated with a calm tone.
Making sure Yuuta was fed ahead of time, he had learned, was quite key. Training sessions tended to last hours, and when Yuuta got hungry he got pouty- it made it tremendously less efficient. Besides, it wasn't like Yuki minded. He didn't even contemplate the fact he called Yuuta's mother by her first name, it was what she'd asked him to call her years ago, and he found it far easier to say than using their surname- that just got too confusing far too quickly.
