Erek would contemplate this quietly, debating the statement that she wasn't sleeping much-- before he would let out a slight breath. She needed to rest but telling her that wouldn't do much good. Perhaps instead he would have to look into getting her to sleep like this on a daily basis. As he contemplated this, she would read over the information slowly as he glanced at her, nodding a bit as she commented on being paranoid and shook his head slightly.
"It's a healthy reaction-- though you should probably try asking it before you drink something," he stated with an amused smirk before he would bring his leg up, resting his arm on his knee, debating the information she had offered him when it came to how she had healed the individual. Examining the markings curiously he would gently set down the cup of coffee to take her wrist with one hand, the one curiously tracing the lines of scars-- some people may consider it barbaric, but to him, it wasn't much different from his own tattoos.
Had they likely been more painful? Certainly.
Did the leaver worse scarring due to the metal-infusion? Also true.
That didn't really make them somehow worse or more barbaric, in the end, it was all willing self-mutilation for an artist attraction. At least he's actually served a purpose by acting as a channeling source for her Ginto. Curiously he tilted his head as he trailed a finger along one-- there was Scar's along the flesh that signified the metal bonded to it, but he had a feeling with the proper healing from their research they could be removed, as could the scars that decorated her face if she so desired.
"Do they store liquid reishi as well? Or simply act as a channeling alignment-- and rely on your own skill to use the reishi around you as per normal for your casting?" his inquiry was posed as he examined them, tracing a finger along the old wounds as he instead blinked and glanced up at her as he released her arm after he'd examined them enough to get a general idea of them. He wasn't aware of enough Nordic lore to make out all the runes-- he barely spoke the language, but he had enjoyed quite a bit of their ancient cultures. He had a vague understanding of the rituals she was talking about, tapping a foot slightly.
"Combining science and magic indeed," he would ponder lightly as she brought up researching them alongside the science, a slight smile playing on his lips. If the girl had achieved so much of what she knew through pure instinct-- the idea of what she could achieve with a bit of guiding along the routes of research was even greater. If they managed to do this right then the girls already latent skill could be exponentially increased-- including the usage of her blut itself. She claimed to be bad at it-- but if she'd managed to get as far as she had without any instruction then she was nearly as great a natural as he would appear to be.
"I think researching the science first is a good step-- while you do that, I'll look into the old Nordic rituals and faith-- once we're both on a solid basis to communicate without having to explain everything to one another constantly, we can both look into your Grandfathers books together perhaps?" his head tilted a bit, debating the idea quietly to himself.
"If I could get a stronger grasp on my own abilities before then as well we'd have a good base to work on between us," he stated idly, before glancing at her and offering a slight smirk.
"Two heads are better than one and all that, after all," chuckling a bit as he finished off his coffee, setting it to the side as he rested his arm lightly atop his leg once more, he wanted another cup but he'd wait to get up until he and Frey had finished talking.
