Mako was completely his usual routine-- he had finished training within his home, making sure that his energy remained suppressed so that no one would sense his reiatsu shifting, before then leaving his home and beginning his research into the thirds library-- studying on traditional medicine, kidou, martial arts of varying types, and so forth for another two hours. He was now at the part of his day where he would generally move forward and get something to eat, before returning for more training-- this time publically to retain appearances. However, he had discovered an abnormality in his usual flow-- for quite a while now, a weaker spiritual pressure had been following him around everywhere.
Despite the fact he himself wasn't releasing any of his reiatsu-- making him effectively a ghost when it came to spiritual pressure-- Mako still felt the presence constantly following him. It wasn't familiar, which meant that it was a stranger to him-- not that that was an issue, but it was certainly something that raised a red flag. Were they intending to attack him? Did they expect to catch him doing something questionable so that they could turn him in for some reason? Beyond keeping his training and progress secret, he hadn't really gained anything or done anything worth causing him any problems. He followed the rules near perfectly-- that was the point of being here after all.
That said he didn't doubt he had plenty of people that he had rubbed wrong, or annoyed-- perhaps even completely angered, he knew full well that his personality was grating against most. He was blunt, cold, and often-- rude. Anything to get the social interaction over with so that he could move on to far more important things. Initially, he had intended to patiently wait them out, to see if they would slip-- but to their credit, beyond their spiritual pressure, they were remarkably careful in their tracking. He never caught physical sight of them-- luckily, his other forms of sensory were not nearly so weak.
He had a training field that rarely had many on it-- it was usually used by second squanders practicing their stealth, or third squanders practicing their support kidou-- and therefore there were minimal distractions and it allowed him to train in peace and quite alone. This is where he would lead his little elf-- walking into the fields calmly and moving toward a more segmented area where the training dummies, targets, and several walls separated him from the few others that had come to the secluded training area. With that, he would then calmly turn-- facing the exact direction that he sensed the young woman-- and would place his hands behind his back calmly, the tall, pale man watching the area calmly before finally he would speak-- voice cold, and calm-- monotone much like that of androids.
"Miss, may I inquire as to why you've been following me the past few hours?" he would ask simply, his glasses catching the glint of the sun, making his eyes impossible to see as he would await her response calmly-- he was entirely prepared to defend himself if it was required-- but from the brief surface emotions he felt from her, it felt less like an incoming attack and more just simple curiosity. What he was curious about was what exactly she was so curious about when it came to him specifically-- he'd made a few ripples, certainly, especially with a few public spars, but nothing that should cause people to start following him.
At least not in his opinion. He supposed both of those battles had been flawless victories-- hm. Perhaps he should have purposely allowed them to slip a hit or two in to make himself appear less impressive? It was something to worth noting for the future to avoid this situation again perhaps.
