Raph had begun packing some a bag when he suddenly received a message that Frey wanted to speak with him. Though he asked what her highness needed, the messenger with a stick up his ass, refused to divulge such information, instead deciding to salute briefly, before turning and leaving the room. Normally, Raph would have just ignored such a thing for a few more minutes and finish packing, despite having hidden the bag, but unlike many people that he could pretend didn’t exist, Frey was impatient and if he didn’t go to see her, Raph knew that she would come find HIM.
Burying the bag beneath the bed in his room, Raph cursed and started pushing things around with telekinesis, hiding them in the room just in case someone came in, and then left. Hands in his pockets he began making his way towards Frey, he passed looking out at the way that the quincy were coming along. A group of recruits were busy at one end of the courtyard. Meanwhile, he could hear more private training sessions somewhere not too far off. Soldiers rushed back and forth, some carried orders from higher ups, others requisition orders for supplies from the quartermaster. As he passed by, though, many of them would look away from him, or outright ignore him.
Part of this was because he was a mortal that had been allowed to join the order because of his relationship with Frey. The other part was that he was so close to “her majesty” Freylief, Queen of the Quincy; at least he was quite certain that this was the other issue. People were even talking behind his back, making up rumors about him and Frey. It felt a little odd, because he enjoyed the attention, but at the same time, hated that people were saying such things about him and, even more so, Frey. Something big had happened to her rather recently, thought he couldn’t hear what exactly it was, since no one would say what, exactly, had happened. Not like Raph was walking around interrogating people, though he could’ve probably found out.
He approached the Queen’s chamber, and stopped just before it, saluting, he stood before the two guards. Both seemed to stiffen somewhat at his approach.
It’s almost like I’m a diseased animal or something…
“Raphael Laurent, Order affiliate. Her majesty sent for me and wishes to speak with me.” He stood at attention and perfectly still watching the two soldiers. They exchanged glances, albeit briefly, and then turned their attention to him. Both stepped out of the way and Raph pushed the door open.
The room on the inside was lavishly furnished, befitting the room of a queen. “You really need to talk to your guards,” he said as he approached. “ Anyways, I was told that you wanted to speak with me. Something wrong?”
