Polite ||
Janus is used to being courteous to customers. She likes having return customers and does not like making enemies.
Reserved ||
Janus is smart enough to think about her actions before making them. She does not go ballistic the first time anything gets under her skin.
Quick ||
Not as in speed, Janus thinks quickly on her feet. It shows too, she do not commonly miss jokes and other referendum.
Negative Traits:
Curious ||
Janus lacks that voice that should be reminding her that curiosity killed the anguished cat. Hopefully she never comes across a red button that says “do not press”.
Odd ||
Janus plays up the androgyny thing quite heavily. It's odd and can be creepy to those that have never met her.
Eccentric ||
Janus enjoys being unique. She thinks there's no one like her and she's convinced she's insane anyway.
Obnoxious ||
Janus is a sarcastic troll. Not afraid to show it when not at work.
Loyalties:
Tokei Aruki ||
It's her BnB, its her small hotel. Key word in these statements is hers. Janus does not want them destroyed after the last time it was damaged. She also does not like people pretending they own the place.
Her customers ||
When someone is visiting the BnB or hiring Janus for her Divination abilities as an “investigator”, Janus does not betray people lightly. That is usually bad for business. She attempts to avoid it as much as possible.

[ Take a Look ]
Physical Description:
Janus is the definition of a trap. It gets worse because Janus does not care to tell most people if she is male or female. Only Janus' immediate friends know the truth, this is all completely reinforced by how Janus looks. Janus is hairless, and stands at a decisively normal height, and has no defining muscles. On top of it, Janus has a generic bob cut that could be on any man or woman, and despite best guesses, has enlightened lips that Janus keeps coated in chap stick. It gets even deeper when Janus' speaks. The voice is slightly but not high enough to be distinctively feminine. Almost as if Janus was still a young boy, or a deeper voiced girl. Even more enforcement comes from Janus' choice in clothing and hygiene products. Janus uses very girly smelling shampoo and conditioner but wears Tommy Bahama Relax as a cologne, so Janus permeates with the smell of both girly fruits and the tropics. If all the extra work that Janus put into her looks was not enough, the only odd part of Janus' looks is her shoulder blades. Which are double jointed and therefore extend from the back when hunched quite a bit or while flexed.
Spiritual Description:
Janus has no extremely fashionable feature to their spirit. However, when a Quincy looks at Janus' spirit thread, it has spinning clocks on it. Anyone who actively sees Janus "Path walk", that can focus enough to see reishi and reiatsu can see the odd waves of changing futures based on decisions around Janus. It almost feels like Déjà vu if it is the first time you have experienced the feeling of Janus' soul. This also occurs even to those that have just met her for the first time. Though Janus can't feel or see it herself so she would not know what to tell someone that described it. When in combat, or in extreme stress. Is the only time Janus' reiatsu is more formulaic and noticeable. It almost feels like staring at a grandfather clock, with a constant tick in the background. Though someone would have to be on the same level as Janus for them to even hear or feel it beyond their own massive amounts of power and spirit..
[ Poor Lost Soul ]
Personality:
Janus' personality is a little easier to ascertain than her gender. As a Diviner, Janus is curious by nature, and cautious by necessity. These two traits define everything that Janus has come to know and be. Due to her divination, Janus has the uncanny need to find things out. When there is a potential future that shows up on her radar, Janus usually has the want to follow it if it is not screaming immediate danger. This same thing occurs when someone asks Janus to solve a mystery. Janus herself is not really sure why this is, but she thinks it happens to be some kind of latent need for people who can see the future. If she had to describe it, “just seeing the future is easy, knowing which branches solve your questions, is a bigger question with more branches.”
Janus is extremely polite while at work, this is due to owning a BnB. Janus is also not quick to anger, however they have a distinctive defense mechanism that is shown rather frequently. Janus has the disposition for engaging in sarcastic and almost trying remarks when faced with danger or something that she does not care or agree with. This leads most people to think of Janus as harsh tongued or demeaning when not being a customer of Janus. It's actually something that Janus picked up when she was locked up for being crazy. Janus knows nothing about any soul beings currently, once she meet a few their opinions will be formed.
Goals & Achievements:
Janus' largest achievement, in her opinion, was breaking out of the mental institution.
I am no hero. Never was and to be completely honest, I never will be. However, after being stuck in this forsaken place for two years with everyone trying to medicate me on drugs that I'm pretty sure are illegal anywhere that is not this castle, I finally cracked. Though maybe, that was just an excuse. I looked at the terrible meatloaf in front of me and thought about wishing for it to suddenly taste good. Nothing happened, same disgusting flavor as the first time I had it. I took a second bite as something on my precognition caught held in the back of my mind.
One of the orderlies walked behind me just in time for another inmate(yes I refer to us as inmates, this place is a prison with a pretty name, so sue me) began his usual tantrum. I didn't think. Or maybe, looking back now, I didn't want to think. The two orderlies in front of the cafeteria doors moved to restrain the rather large teenager who had been throwing his fists in a tantrum. I, on the other hand, walked out the door. I quickly darted, once I cleared the door to the side alcove where the water fountain was as a new orderly walked towards the door. I waited, tracing futures and making sure I had not been noticed. As he looked into the cafeteria, I walked out behind him and around the corner.
I must say that divination is amazing. It really is, if you know how to use it. I had just spent two years at becoming the best at flipping coins and throwing stress balls by simply picking out the future in which it did what I wanted it too, and following the exact muscle movements to do so. This became extremely relevant as one of the other inmates was pushing the laundry, and all of it fell to the wayside as my stress ball perfectly caught on the front left wheel. The hallway on my right, I thought as I kept walking another orderly passing to go help with the felled laundry cart.
To be honest, I did not think it would work this well, but all the information I had gathered over the past year was definitely helping. Unfortunately it wouldn't get me past the gate the same way. That was the real point at which my powers would help. Powers, I find it funny that I called them that as I turned the corner to see the service panel that required an orderly ID tag and a pin code to leave form. That's when my precognition fired off just quick enough to realize I was running out of futures in which this worked. The older woman stood in front of me looking down. I was ashamed I had not noticed, I was too busy looking for the right pin code. My mistake, it really was.
“Janus.” She said in her obviously-smoked-her-life voice looking down condescendingly at me. “Where are you going, my dear?” She asked and I was about to panic as I searched for an answer. Nothing was going to be good enough, I thought before I saw one future that intrigued me, she would run away. What did I say?
I rehearsed it in the back of my head as I traced the future and simply kept on my face of panic. “Milo attacked the nurse who tried to help him with the laundry. With the fight in the cafeteria, I came looking for you Miss Beatrice!” I stated. She looked me over, I was not someone who lied much in here, and I always ran away so I guess it made sense, she walked annoyed by me and I quickly moved to the door like a scared child before she vanished around the corner. It took a few seconds for me to find the future with the right pin code but once it was in, I was long gone.
Janus is curious by nature. It's probably a drawback to being a Diviner. She sees something that is nit picky at the back of her mind, then she just decides to go find out what it is. If she had to have an overall goal, she would honestly just say it's learning enough that free-will would no longer matter in her potential futures. Which of course, is impossible, so she likes to stick with finding out things she does not know. Recently, seeing people in black robes and masked demons that may or may not be an illusion or a derangement, has become a passing fascination for her to understand and learn more about. Janus also likes helping people. Especially when hired to do so, she's a sucker for people in distress. After all if curiosity didn't kill the anguished cat, chances are it will probably get Janus killed. If there was a way that Janus' abilities could make the world a better place, she would be one of the first people to go looking for it.One of the orderlies walked behind me just in time for another inmate(yes I refer to us as inmates, this place is a prison with a pretty name, so sue me) began his usual tantrum. Honestly if she had to look back a few decades from now. If she had saved even a few people and helped a few more with her gifts, she'd probably say she did pretty good. Or if she had her own comedy show, but that's not really relevant most times.
Overall goals :
-Find something Useful for her Powers
-Help People
[ Diviner ]
Weapon of Choice:
Anything she can get her hands on.
[ Past and Potential Futures ]
Origin: Janus' childhood was rather boring and simple. She was born at a hospital in Sicily, and lived the first few years of her life in relative safety and comfort. However, Janus was always plagued with night terrors. She often dreamed of loud screams or heard them outside her bedroom, she was not entirely sure if they were real or not. Janus' first major escapade with her powers was more of the inciting incident than anything else. She was at elementary school when suddenly she started seeing flashes of information and conversations that Janus thought were being displaced. For instance, she would talk to someone, and then she would blink and be having the same conversation with them again. A few weeks later, the time displacement had gotten so bad that Janus' young mind could not discern what was real and began sobbing uncontrollably. Her parents, not knowing what to do, gave her to a childhood psychologist who decided to put Janus in a mental institution for a “short period” in order to see if they could scare or remiss Janus into no longer having the thoughts. This actually proved to be a boon because of the obviously routine area that Janus was allowed to calm down and learn more about what was happening. The day in and day out, with the same schedule repeating itself with the same orderlies allowed her to understand that she was viewing potential futures. Janus made a habit during the first part of her stay in getting thrown into solitary. She did this because, in solitary, the future does not change. She can sit on her bed and nothing will happen until someone comes to check on her at set intervals.
Modern Prophet:
Janus learned to use her power over the course of the two years she was locked up in an asylum. Originally, Janus did not understand what she were seeing or how it worked. Over time she eventually came to realize that everyone has choices and each choice or action that could have been a different choice, changes the potential future. Janus slowly learned to use her power by extreme repetition, practice makes perfect. While Janus was in no way perfect, she got enough control over the ability to sense potential futures to break out of the asylum and has since then has kept it slightly under wraps.
The idea for Janus' BnB came from one of their high school friends in Karakura, specifically one of the more well-do friends that had hired Janus to find things for them before. Janus was always good at finding things since she got a grasp on her powers. Janus did not have to pay for it, so why would they say no? Janus spends six days a week on double shift at the BnB when she is not on retainer for an odd job to make additional money on the side.
Incident :
Janus was finally pushed into the pool by an encounter with a masked-monster. Janus had taken a job to find a ring for a client . It was rather simple for her, just look for the item via path walking near where it was lost, and usually she would come up with some clue as to where to go from there. It was around then that Janus heard the roar, or scream, from the masked-monster. While she had heard screams similar in the backdrop of the past, this was the first time that it was actually near Janus. Her own power screamed at her just in time for her to jump out of the way as the monster barreled through a fence nearby. Janus stood utterly taken back and confused. Her mind raced, wondering if she was going even more crazy, or that she was hallucinating. The weirder part was something was chasing it, a person in black robes! Janus proceeded to spend the rest of the night, after finding the ring, drinking whatever the hell had happened away. Unfortunately, Janus is a Diviner, and now wondered what exactly had happened.
[ Time is Fleeting ]
History:
A lost Soul. Janus went through a lot before she redid Tokei Aruki. After, the world got a lot more weird and a lot more complicated really quick. It started with what she thought was a dream. Janus had been driving along and met a woman named Miné and a young boy with a hole in his body named Zero. Janus saw they were both very dirty and took them to get baths. During which she learned that Miné had met other diviners sometime in the past and was extremely nice to Zero. It ended abruptly, when, because Zero had not been used to happiness, had flared his reiatsu at the concept of Janus being polite to him. The young boy, as she thought, managed to knock Janus out of her body, and then completely unconscious back into it. This would be one of the bases for Janus' “Soul Toss”.
