How can anyone so despise an online roleplaying forum that merely hearing that it'll be converted into a private community brings them flocking back within an hour of its announcement?
A subset of those people are now suggesting that the most popular Bleach roleplaying community to ever exist is in any measurable way a failure? Bleach Gotei existed as a public roleplaying community for longer than the anime it was based on.
And, hell, it's quite possible it'll still end up being more active than it was before.
You're right: Bleach Masquerade and the countless other, wildly popular spinoffs were much, much more successful.
But no your scathing comments have really gotten to us all. I don't think I'll be able to stay composed!

Edit: Star Wars is/was a failure in the eyes of fans of the Extended Universe when that was Disney'd out of existence. "Fans" are quick to label something a failure when it doesn't go the way they want
Edit 2: Like Bleach when Ichigo + Rukia didn't happen, or Naruto when he didn't get with Sakura.

I legitimately never got the IchigoxRukia and NartuoxSakura rage. Like, it was pretty obvious those things were not gonna happen.
Oh well, the entitled are going to whine. I'm sure the internet will be full of snickering "thank god that trash is over" posts after Episode 9 hits theaters, made by countless armchair directors who never once put a movie on a screen.
I was legit in my sentiment, you guys were awesome but shit happens, Bleach just isn't that popular anymore and now you serve a niche, thus you shrink down, after a decade no less, to a private setting.
It happens, and it's cool.

Easy there, Tova, I actually have no real issue with you, not even with Kyou and his need to try and puff his chest lol
Not gonna lie, this still surprised me a little, seeing the site finally die.
Damn. 6 years (on and off) being here and growing and having fun with you all. I didn't think I'd ever see BG again, and I finally get out of the hospital to find my favorite RPG closing down shop. It's been a wild ride and I'll miss most of you...especially you Naz.

This is gonna get really fucking indulgent. Honestly, honestly really glad this is happening in the way it is. Checking up on this site ever so often over the past few months has been this sort of slow-burny, knife-twist when's-it-gonna-end type deal. I'm glad we can have a proper end to it.
Definitely a wild ride. I've learned so much about writing and storytelling from you guys, but that's less important. The main thrust here is that I never really stayed around much for the roleplaying as much as the people. I had a better way of coming to this point, I think, but I'm just so glad to have met you all, and I had as much fun screwing around with you guys in Skype and in the cbox as I've had in my life. I'm so happy to have gotten to meet so many of you, and to have been a part of this community filled with some fucking amazing writers/storytellers and cool people.
Here's a list. If your names are/you have ever been known as Daisy, Tits, Arty, Malik, Tova, Kyou, Brianna, Kiriko, Walkren, Kireon, Mitsutaka, Cho, Riko/her boyfriend who showed me skrillex for the first time, Vic, Adi, Roach, Weylin, Jemu, Josh, Colin, Kenshou "flash god/motherfucking" Ine, Noa, Ai, TK, Ryder and that person who played jasper's mom you fucking freaks lmao, the guy who killed my first character -- Thanks for being here. I have so many vivid memories with all of you guys that I just cherish so much that I've been going through in my head that make me really happy. And for everyone I forgot in my stream of consciousness run, chances are I've got some ones buried deep of you, too. For those I haven't met, especially the newer guys: thanks for being a part of it. You kept something pretty special alive.
I'm gonna miss having this place. But the site isn't just the forum it's in the hearts of the PEOPLE and that's what mjkljlkjl just don't be a stranger and hit me up via discord or whatever
bye, and much much love,
jake

Well, that's it, then? Guess frpgs really are dead to some extend. This isn't the first promising and formerly active rpg I see go down. Wasn't like that 15 years ago...
It saddens me that it had come this far with this rpg as well as with many others. And that the next incarnation will obviously be only for a few selected and the rest that's still active will have to look elsewhere for a "Bleach-rpg-home". Ah welk, 'twas nice as long as it lasted.

If that's the case, I'd be saddened too. pBp/frpgs have always been some of the best times of my life, especially when the rest of it wasn't going so well. They made me interested in writing more than anything else ever did either.
I think in some respects you're right too, though. Even currently popular series like Boku No Hero Academia only have have something like 1-2 actually decently active sites. (Nowhere near BG at it's peak though.) So maybe the fact that a series like that, as popular as it is, can't even carry a decent frpg community speaks volumes to the decline of the medium altogether.

Just a friendly reminder: Anyone interested in being part of the campaign-style Bleach Gotei we'll be starting relatively shortly needs only to reach out to me via Discord.
