For the Record
Age: Has been living for 264 years, biologically 16
Gender: Female
Character Parameters
Height & Weight She stands at a grand height of 4'3” and weighs 73 lbs.
Hair & Eye Colour She possesses rather long blonde hair, which previously was kept rather dirty, but now she keeps rather clean. While hanging down, which is its usual style, her hair easily reaches past her waist, and even a little bit past her bottom. She sometimes wears her hair in different styles, such as, say, a ponytail, but she prefers to keep it simple and clean, so more often than not it is not styled. As for her hair, she possesses remarkably bright eyes, blue in color, and rather piercing as well if one were to stare at them long enough.
Noticable Difference
Lessa looks more feminine than she ever has before, notably because of her new attitude and approach to the world. However, she still keeps a fiercely guarded feeling to her, mostly so that people do not get close to her because at this point in her life, she knows they'll get hurt. Her clothes aren't all that remarkable, really. She simply wears an ordinary pink dress with straps, with a little bit of frills here and there. Notably, the top center of the dress is white, with frills on the outside edges, and at the bottom of the dress are even more white frills. For shoes, she wears purple boots, even though she is well aware that boots do not go well with dresses. Then, there are the two accessories she wears. The first she wears a bit more rarely; just a simple little hat with goggles attached to it. The second accessory would be the red scarf that Maki Takahashi gave to her, and this accessory is more often than not worn by her. Her zanpakutou is worth mentioning too, as often she wears it strapped across her back sideways, located just above her pelvic region, with the handle of the sword easy enough for her to reach across with her right hand and draw the weapon.
One last interesting facet of her appearance is how old she looks. While alive, she was afflicted by a condition known as Kallmann syndrome, in which hormones are not present at all or only present in small amounts. This, coupled with her malnourishment in life, has led to her appearance.
Positive Traits
- ”What's that? You want me to stop?” She can be really dedicated to something, so much so that she tries her best to ignore any negative mishaps that happen along the way. It's difficult to stop her from pursuing something once she wants to pursue it.
- ”A little humor's always appropriate.” She also tends to inject humor into a situation when the situation doesn't really warrant humor. She's a firm believer that life, and consequently afterlife, is one big game, hence how she acts at times.
- ”Slow and Steady” She prefers to wait and see what an opponent is going to do. Then, from there, she slowly works out a way to beat them and win the fight. This same approach applies to her every day life as well, as she tends to take difficult subjects slowly with people in order to learn more.
- ”You want to be friends with me?" Making friends is something near and dear to her, yet at the same time very new. She isn't at all used to having friends, but likes having them, despite the feeling she gives off that she doesn't really want people to get too close to her.
- "You can trust me." A major concept of her is the concept of loyalty and honor. If you become friends with her, she'll feel a duty to help you out if you get into trouble, sometimes to great personal pains.
- ”Looks like I wore myself down.” When she does figure out a way of taking a person down, she tends to give it her all. Consequently, this means she tends to wear herself down quite quickly while in a battle.
- ”I don't know what to do” Often, she finds herself questioning what is right and wrong a lot. And consequently, she tends to get caught up in if something is right or wrong, regardless of anything else. This often leads to her being indecisive in some situations.
- ”You sure about that?” The girl can be quite cocky when she wants to be, which is actually quite often. She tries to downplay this aspect of herself as much as she can, but it's still often seen despite that.
- ”I'm not a hypocrite” Deep issues reside within her, and one is the fact that she hates being called a hypocrite, mostly because it is true. She doesn't like Gilgamesh and yet she is working with him. Out of a sense of duty towards a friend, of course, but even so, if she were to be called out on that hypocrisy, she wouldn't react very well.
- ”Don't hurt my friends" Her loyalty towards her friends is easily both a bad and good trait at the same time. It manifests in a bad way, however, in that she'll do anything to get them out of trouble, as noted before. It doesn't matter what kind of atrocities she'll have to do in order to guarantee their safety, because she will commit those atrocities.
Her fighting style is simple; she doesn't really have one. She's willing to do anything to win, including tricking an opponent, blinding them(i.e. If they're fighting in a desert), or just overall switching how she fights constantly, so long as she feels such a thing would be effective against an opponent. Perhaps the best way to describe how she fights is aggressive; she's incredibly aggressive in a fight, never letting off of an opponent once she's decided on an approach.
Bond Undeniable
Zanpakuto Spirit:Kaminari taberu hito takes the shape of a dragon. His whole body is a dull red, including his wings. He has spikes going down the entirity of his back, and nearing the end of his tail, it splits into two smaller segments. Spikes are also present on places like his legs as well, in addition to some sharper ones on his face. He also possesses razor sharp claws and teeth; his horns seem to complete his appearance.
Kaminari, as Lessa calls him, is very similar to Lessa herself in many aspects. He seems to be the main source for her ability to ruthlessly cut down her friends though; he is a bit more crueler than her. In addition to this, the arrogance that Lessa once holds is now replaced with the confidence that Kaminari has, confidence that both he and his master will do well in the world. He knows that even now she isn't at her full potential yet, especially when it comes to her personality, and he sees himself as a mentor, meant to guide the girl to what she is destined to be.
Inner World:
Lessa's Inner World is not a happy place to be in at all. There's water all around, with only a single landmass located on it. Lightning is constantly filling the area, with a huge column of lightning going off in the distance, just as constantly as the lightning in the rest of the area. Despite this, there is something beautiful in how the lightning seems to paint the sunset-filled sky, in how it interacts with the water.
Sealed Zanpakuto: Her zanpakuto is very decorative in its appearance; that, however, does not mean it is just as strong as other zanpakutos. The tsuba of it is painted whitish-yellow, deeply resembling the color of lightning, with the hilt-wrapping being pure white. The tassel at the end of it is the same color as the tsuba, and the blade of the katana itself is also white. Her zanpakuto's scabbard completes the look, being white in color with yellow-white decorations of a dragon painted onto it. In addition to this, the zanpakuto itself is about four feet in length, just ten inches shorter than she is.
Shikai Appearance : “Zap, Kaminari taberu hito.” At first glance, nothing much changes about her zanpakuto. However, if one were to look, they would see that it's shape has condensed down, now only about three feet or so. However, this just means that the reiatsu is condensed into a smaller area and the sword is that more powerful. Another added effect that happens in her Shikai state is that electricity is constantly jumping around on the blade; physical contact isn't needed to shock the opponent with said electricity either, so long as the blade is close enough to them.
Shikai Abilities: The weather itself changes when she enters her Shikai release. Thunderclouds will gather overhead, and it will also begin to rain. While in her Shikai state, she has complete control over any electricity around herself or her opponent. She also will gain the ability to call down lightning from the thundercloud up above the battlefield.
The electricity she controls while in this state is more powerful than regular electricity. Both the electricity she controls in the area and the lightning will be more powerful than ever. This is due to the influence her spiritual pressure alone has on their composition. In addition, electricity will be able to travel further if it is raining. Whereas when it's not raining, it travels about twenty feet or so, while when it is raining, that range doubles to forty feet.
Bankai Appearance: "Bankai. Arashi no Kami" (roughly means Storm God in English) Her zanpakuto doesn't change much during this. What happens is, when she says the 'Bankai' part of her release phrase, reiatsu begins to flow out of her zanpakuto towards the area directly between herself and her opponent. Then, when she says the last part of her release phrase, 'Arashi no Kami', a pure white pillar is formed out of that reiatsu, directly between her opponent and her.
The pillar itself is very tall, at least a fourth the size of a modern day skyscraper. It has chains going down along the side of it, attached to the top of the pillar. On top of the pillar itself is a smaller sized triangle made of the same material as the pillar. This triangle, and the pillar itself, are the main crux of her Bankai, obviously enough, seeing as how the power comes from the tower itself.
Bankai Abilities: In Bankai, she gains a sort of electrical mane about her that greatly enhances various attributes of herself. In addition, the tower that appears while she is in Bankai has the ability to fire out extremely strong blasts of spiritual energy. The most potent aspect of her tower is the fact that it can operate at extreme ranges as well, easily picking off opponents that prefer to stay away from her melee strikes.
Within the Mirror
Inner Hollow Apperance: Her Inner Hollow stands at a slightly smaller height than Lessa herself, at just 4'12", with a corresponding appropriate weight. However, this doesn't diminish from the fact that the Inner Hollow carries herself a lot like Lessa used to. She moves with arrogance, and with pride in her abilities, confident that she's the best suited being for anything that could possibly exist. The Inner Hollow herself looks like Lessa in almost every way, save for her color. She has moderately long hair which falls to her shoulders, but unlike Lessa's blonde hair, her hair is as black as night. The eyes of the Inner Hollow differ greatly from that of Lessa, with the sclera being black unlike the usual white, and the color of the eyes themselves being yellow in color, with the pupil still staying its normal black. Despite this radical change, even her eyes convey the arrogance and confidence she feels in herself. Her skin, too, is similar to Lessa in that it is white, but it's so white to the point that it might even appear to be bone.
The clothes she wears, unlike that of an ordinary Inner Hollow, don't always match what Lessa is wearing. Indeed, she is rather casual and as such, wears casual clothes, though even these clothes are often white in color, much like the rest of her. More often than not these clothes are just jeans and a shirt of some kind. However, in serious situations, such as whenever she's taking Lessa seriously, she wears the ordinary Shihakusho. In addition to all of this is her posture, also remniscient of the old Lessa. The being often stands up straight and proud, much like how she moves. Arrogance laces nearly every word she says, and nearly always she has a cocky look on her face, because she believes she is the best. More often than not an amused expression is on her face, as she finds amusement in a lot of things.
Inner Hollow Personality: The Inner Hollow is a being that resembles greatly the mask that Lessa used to put on every day. The mask that she hid behind so that she didn't get close to others and get hurt when they eventually died. That mask is one of supreme arrogance, to the point that her Inner Hollow believes she is able to do most anything by herself, no matter what in the world that task might be. This arrogance also leads to the controlling aspect that her Inner Hollow has, the fact that her Inner Hollow believes everything in the world that relates to her should be hers to control, that she is the master of herself and no one should be able to tell her what to do, even Lessa herself. Even the snarkiness that Lessa displayed every now and again is a part of the Inner Hollow, as that was also a part of the mask.
In addition to all of this is the Inner Hollow's hatred of most anything in the world besides herself. This relates to her arrogance, but at the same time it relates to supreme fear of other people, of the pain that they might bring. People hurt, that was something Lessa had thought for the longest time, and she had used it as justification for forging the emotions she faked, so it's no surprise that this fear of others is an integral part of her Inner Hollow as well. The Inner Hollow represents this fear in the way it lashes out, in how she thinks she should be able to control everything around her, because that way, she'll never have anything to fear from other people at all.

FLASHBACK
Lessa was born to a samurai and his wife, in the year 1749 in Japan. At that time, nearly all samurai were either now peasants or they served as Daimyo to the Shogunate. Instead of choosing either of these options, when she was eight, her father chose to oppose the shogun at the time. Her father was a skilled samurai, true, but he did not nearly have as many troops as the shogun did.
Battles between her father and the shogun lasted for a year, a long year from her prospective, and each month, each day they were losing land to the shogun. It was obvious that, before long, they would eventually reach the core of her father's land. As it turned out, this assumption was correct; nearly a year after the day her father dared to challenge the shogun, they reached her father's center.
The ensuing battle was bloody; they had not anticipated the troops showing up so soon. The battle itself, however, was hardfought on both sides; her father's side had low morale and troops, while the shogun's side had high morale and troops. Her father's side had more natural talent though, and a lot more ferocity than the shogun's troops. That, however, was not enough to guarantee them a victory; they lost.
Her father got grievously wounded during the fighting and retreated into his small castle, trusting that the small space would give his remaining soldiers a good enough opportunity to defend themselves. His trust, however, was wrong; even that didn't help them, and it wasn't long before they found him. Before the ones who had found him could cut him down, Lessa's mother stood in their way, and they went through her before getting to her father.
She did not know any of this. When it became obvious that they were going to lose, her father had brought out a variety of items, to help her survive on her own. He had told her to run, and only come back after she was sure that the shogun's soldiers had left. She followed his instructions to the letter; she went to the nearest city and lived there as a meager beggar for some time before returning to her father's former land.
There was nothing left there anymore; the corpses still hadn't been buried either, with the land being viewed as cursed. In a way, it as cursed, but not due to the deaths that had happened there; it was due to the Hollows drawn there, due to latent spiritual pressure in some of the soldiers that had died there. Lessa couldn't see a thing when she had gone there, though she did hear the voices of people, people she would later learn were the dead soldiers. She also had very latent spiritual pressure.
The only thing she did find at the battlefield were her parents bodies, and a boy. She was skeptical of the boy at first; he claimed to be the son of Mosaku, her father. The two, however, listened to each other; her father had, apparently, once conceived with another woman and he had never known that she conceived. She was a prostitute, part of the lowest of the social class; by the time she learned she was pregnant, her father had been gone for a while.
She met him, her apparent half-brother Hachiro, when she was eleven years old, and for four years, they lived in the city of Edo. Much like Hachiro's mother, they were considered the lowest of the social class as well, due to the fact that they were beggars. The items her father had prepared had ran out a long time ago, and in all likelihood, they were going to die due to malnourishment. They did, eventually, die; however, not of a cause they could have ever predicted.
They returned to their father's old holding to say farewell to him together. While there, they came under attack; by something they could barely see, no less. They could barely make out the outline of the being attacking them, not that it mattered. In one fell swoop, it downed Lessa, and just as it was readying to attack Hachiro, a shinigami appeared and vanquished the creature.
The next few days, months, and indeed years were confusing to Lessa, especially the first day. The shinigami explained everything to her, to the best of his abilities. She was dead, and he was going to send her to an apparently wonderful place known as the Soul Society. She questioned about her brother, who at the moment was distressed; he couldn't see either of them at all.
She accepted that she'd have to go to the Soul Society without Hachiro, at least with some goading from the shinigami. He told her his name, Takimono, before performing konso on her and sending her off to the Soul Society.
She went to the 80th section of the West Rukongai district. She was picked on and bullied a lot, mostly due to how weak she was spiritually; she was not the most strongest in the slightest. However, she excelled when it came to physical fights, whether that be with fists or wooden swords the other kids sometimes used to play fight. She was aggressive from the get-go when she discovered her physical skill; indeed, she was serious whenever they mock fought with wooden swords.
Her prowess in physical fights eventually became rumors, as her time spent in the 80th section increased. What also got around, however, was how she only ever fought if provoked; it was rare to see her fight with no reason behind it. Another fact that got around was how she usually fought those who picked on others. All of these factors are what eventually led to people she knew recommending that she join the Academy.
She did, eventually, join the Academy; most people remarked that she was the most aggressive person you could ever meet. Those who got to know her, however, learned that she was a fine friend, so long as you didn't stand directly in her way. She did good at most of her classes there too, save for Kido. She was absolute rubbish when it came to that, never being able to memorize which spells were which. Even when she did manage to do that, she just couldn't focus enough to use the Kido.
Despite this flaw in her ability to fight, she moved along fine in the Academy, exceeding when it came to physical challenges. During her entire time in the Academy though, her thoughts began drifting back to her brother. It had been a while since she had died; so surely her brother must have died by then as well. Her inquires about it fell on deaf ears, however; no one gave her any information.
Even when she joined a squad soon after graduating from the academy, she still wasn't able to gain any information. Whether it was because he was an arrancar, which understandably the Soul Society didn't want to talk about a lot, or because that kind of information was just plain classified was unknown to her. Either way, it frustrated her to no end to have her attempts at deciphering her past fall nowhere.
She was one of the rare few that could remember her past, hence her curiosity about it, and about her brother. Even as she moved up in ranks throughout the years in Squad 6, she still did not learn anything new. While she was serving as a higher ranking member in Squad 6, the thought that perhaps she should leave the Soul Society came across her mind. They were not helping her at all, and as far as she was concerned, they were even blocking her attempts to learn more.
Her meeting Takimono again, however, changed those thoughts, or at the least, quelled them. Much like herself and her brother, the two became fast friends, and whenever she doubted the Soul Society, he was there to show her that they weren't all that terrible. The two were both the same rank at the time of their chance meeting.
However, things eventually began to unravel once morel, fast. Even as a higher ranking member, she didn't have access to all the information she wanted. Her thoughts about leaving came back, and although he did help with them, Takimono couldn't completely control them. The two often talked about her thoughts, but they never got anywhere, and one day, she revealed her plans to leave to him. She could never have imagined his reaction; he would stand before her and stop her from leaving.
On the night she left the Soul Society, she let herself give into her emotions completely. She felt the cruelty of Kaminari that night, and wasn't able to stop herself from nearly killing Takimono. She fatally injured him that night and, soon after, left; If he hadn't been healed so quickly afterward, he would have died. However, as it was, his injury was so severe that his power waned as a result; in the end, he lost his position.
Lessa, meanwhile, spent time in the human world before going to Hueco Mundo. If her brother was not a shinigami, which seemed likely at that point, he was either a Hollow or an Arrancar; she desperately wanted to believe the latter, because if the former was true, it meant he would likely not recognize her and therefore attack her mindlessly. As she roamed Hueco Mundo in search of her brother, who was a possible Arrancar, she thought about how she might have accidentally killed him already; she had killed many Hollows in her time.
She rejected that way of thinking and by the time she came to terms with the fact that he was indeed still alive in some form, she came upon the Hueco Mundo Forest, home of all Hollows. It was the best possible place to look for him, besides Las Noches; she wouldn't be welcome there, of all places. At least in the Forest, most of the Hollows were intelligent to not attack at first sight.
Her existence there was hard-fought, however. Most of the Hollows there were at least equivalent to her strength, with some even being as strong as a Captain. However, she survived, and she grew stronger as a result of it; but she didn't find her brother. He was not in the Forest, which left her with one more place to search; a place in the human world known as Karakura Town. It had the highest concentration of spiritually aware beings, and it had a lot of Hollow attacks.
She left Hueco Mundo fifty years ago and returned to the World of the Living. She has been staying in Karakura Town for fifty years now, deciding it to be the best place to be on the lookout for her brother. Besides that, aside from Hueco Mundo, it was the best place to hide from shinigami for two reasons. There were a lot of spiritually aware beings there such as herself, and she could suppress her reiatsu to match that of a weak spiritually aware human.
Besides that, Hueco Mundo and the Soul Society were both unsuitable for searching. Soul Society because she had decided her brother was no longer a shinigami, and Hueco Mundo because she had already searched there for fifty years as well; besides that, it would have only been a matter of time until an Arrancar happened upon her. The best place for her search was in Karakura Town.
The first thing she found in Karakura Town was Tova Diablo. He was an Espada at the time, and one thing led to another. He ended up infecting her with Hollow reishi, or spiritual particles, forming an Inner Hollow inside of her. He fled quickly, leaving the young girl to fend for herself when it came to dealing with her Inner Hollow. Some time was spent in Hueco Mundo itself, in order to distance herself even more from others and understand what was going on with her. That was how she met Eon. He was like her, struggling with his own Inner Hollow, and she grew to care about him. And she was surprised when he reciprocated her feelings, not minding her appearance. Although he was away a lot, Lessa didn't let that get in the way of how she felt for him once she returned to Earth and began searching once more.
She found no one in Karakura Town related to her brother. Not someone that could tell her about her brother or anything, save for one or two men. The first was a man known as Lancelot Aizawa, and although she didn't get to know him all that well, he had reached into the core of her. She had still been mourning the loss of her family, even more than 200 years later. He had seen that side of her, and reached out, and comforted her; in a way, he was like another father for her. At first, she had been thinking she could draw information out of him, but that plain quickly fell by the wayside. The other man she met was Mitsutaka Karahashi, the man that was in the future to be like a brother to her. When they met, however, he was on the side of the Gotei, and she a criminal. But he did not take her in; he got her ice cream. He spoke to her. And he also touched a part of her. Both of these two men earned her loyalty.
Karakura Town was her home for quite some more time, until the day she heard that Gilgamesh had taken over Soul Society. When that occurred, she knew that rogues would be hunted down even more than before, and hid out at an ice cream shop where one Kenshou Ine was hiding out as well, along with Oshime Enshoku. However, that was not enough to save her from Gilgamesh. He found her one night, after she had ran and hid from him, and forced her to come back to Soul Society with him. There, he forced her to rejoin the Gotei and be a loyal little soldier, lest harm come to the one whose body he had taken over, Lancelot. For the sake of her friend, Lessa chose to go along with this, and began to serve the Golden King faithfully.
Roleplaying Sample:
“Move, Lieutenant Takimono. I'm not giving you a second warning.” Lessa said, her voice lacking its usual fire. Right now, it was more like barely controlled lightning, ready to be released.
“I'm not moving, Lieutenant Kachekiwa. Not until you tell me why you're abandoning the Soul Society!” the man shouted in response. Some might find the situation comical; the older man shouting at a much younger-looking girl. The two of them, however, did not find the situation humorous at all.
“Takimono...I've spoken to you before about this,” the girl replied, slowly drawing out the zanpakuto strapped to the middle of the back of her body, right above where her pelvic region began. “The Soul Society does not wish to help me search for my brother, who they should have been able to perform konso on in the first place. I deserve to know what happened to him. If he's an arrancar, so be it; at least I will know what happened to him,” she told him, glaring; he had never seen her glare at him before. She had glared at others before, but not him; she was serious.
“I will ask you one...more...time, Takimono. Will you move?” she asked of him. The shake of his head was his answer to her, and with a regretful sigh, she finished drawing her zanpakuto. “So be it. I didn't want to do this, but you're standing in my way.” she said, before slashing her sword at him. The meeting of two swords filled the night, and for the next minute, those same swords could be heard meeting each other again, and again, and again.
“But...Lessa, the Soul Society is trying to find your brother! It just takes time!” Takimono replied, just barely managing to defend against her latest slash.
“Time? Time!? Do you seriously believe them when they say it takes time!?” Lessa shouted; how could he believe them like that? She did not believe them; she was going to search for her brother on her own terms. She couldn't do that shackled down by the shinigamis' petty rules.
An instant after she shouted this to him, Takimono let his attention slip for just one moment, considering the words she just said. It was in that moment of time that an opportunity to finish this came, and Lessa took it. Using Flash Step, she vanished, reappeared right next to Takimono, and slashed straight at his arm. She didn't even wait whether to see if her attack hit or not before vanishing again, reappearing where she had last been at.
“Quell, Biyaku.” Lessa heard a moment later. She knew what it meant; the other Lieutenant she had known for years had just gone into Shikai. A laugh...this is a laugh she told herself, idly glancing at the smoke now filling the area. She knew his zanpakuto's shikai ability well; it's most base purpose was to quell the urge to fight, to influence people to calm down.
“Takimono. I still regret doing this,” Lessa said, as she held her zanpakuto up. “Zap, Kaminari taberu hito!” she cried out.
Intense spiritual pressure filled the area, and Lessa knew she would have to end this quick and hurry through the Senkaimon. Earlier, before leaving, she had instructed the operators to have it ready for this exact time no matter what. The captains will hurry here, to find out why I released my Shikai. I will have to be gone before they arrive Lessa told herself. While it was true that it was just Shikai, she still let off a lot of spiritual pressure in this state, and it was barely restrained at that.
Before Takimono could get a move in, she vanished again, moving far faster than he could. An instant later, he would find a zanpakuto embedded deep within his chest, electricity jumping all over it. He looked at the hand holding the sword, then the girl in front of him who possessed that hand, before he crumpled to the ground. At the same time he did, she pulled the sword out, staring at his prone form. What...what did I just do? she asked herself, watching raindrops hit the man on the ground.
She wasn't the most stable of people; she sometimes let her emotions take control of her completely and guide her. Usually, terrible things did not happen as a result of that. This time though...this time that had happened. Not letting herself dwell on him, she turned towards the direction of her exit. She would mourn him later, as well as mourn her stupidity; the captains were coming, she knew that, and she didn't want to be near them anymore.
