She ignored the buzzing of Hiro at her back as he tried to provide more context even though he'd already said everything he needed to in an unprofessional rush. Finally she snapped, turning back to face the Shinigami who dared dream he was good enough at anything to be taking up her air, “Look, go watch the room with the others and make sure they don't talk, okay? I'll handle this Rip person.” She didn't even so much as look at him before turning back around and pushing the door open softly. Stepping into the darkened room of what had to at one time have been an office space of some sort she surveyed the gutted area with a casual interest.
Each step took her closer to the table but she didn't look at her suspect, not quite yet. Instead she turned and glanced at the walls, a small frown crossing her face at the structural damage. Was this really the best hiding spot they could find? Sad really. Turning she pulled back the chair silently but didn't yet drop her weight into it, instead leaning against the back of the cold metal and staring straight at her victim. Kiriko was well known for her glare, her fierce gaze, it was even intimated in the Second that she could cook a man alive from the inside out by simply staring at him. She wasn't doing that today, instead she glanced at the suit wearing man as if she could pierce through his very soul. It was a perfected look that took a lot of practice, one she knew had an effect even on the most stalwart of people. She'd tested it out after all. Not so much threatening as it was painfully revealing.
“Hello Rip,” she spoke tenderly, her voice caressing the man's lies straight out, “I'm Chinda Kiriko and I'll be taking care of you today, I hope you'll answer my questions because I really don't have much time.” Something about his face seemed familiar, but those stupid mustache glasses obscured enough that she wasn't entirely sure of herself. She leaned forward in a fluid shifting of body weight, “Let's start with something simple. How did you get into Soul Society, hm?”
She wanted to ask him a question out of sequence, to keep him off guard. But from the notes Hiro had given her this man seemed chaotic enough if not crazy. She didn't need drivel today, but there was no need to start crudely if the situation didn't call for it yet. So Kiriko tried patience, even though she wanted to reach across that table and smack the man into the nearest wall while demanding his connection to Mayumi. That was, sadly, secondary to actually finding out what had occurred last night. She had a mission here, even if she also had a personal one. Kiriko was a professional, she could juggle dual narratives. She just hoped this scenario didn't get any more bizarre. Or she might have to distract Kohara from his line of work and call him in for some backup. And that would be so distasteful...
