And what exactly are we waiting around here for again?
You and I both know that you already know the answer to that. So stay quiet and stay out of the way.
As you command...
.. NOT! With that pleasant thought ringing inside of her head the Hollow within her retreated away for now. The not so pleasant laughter of it echoing away until it faded from her conscious mind for the time being. At least that was something to be happy about for the time being as her eyes drifted down to the watch she had pulled from her pocket. Any time now, or at least she hoped, Kiriko would arrive.
Kiriko, much like Miki, was the current leader, acting or not, of her division. Someone who had her own degree of infamy inside of the Seireitei. Both were powerful women whom had Male Captains whom at some point they had looked up to. Miki was quite sure that Kiriko was still quite devoted to her Captain, whether he was missing or not, and that was to be admired, she supposed. Miki's own loyalty as of late had been waning. Things were going downhill and she was beginning to understand why so many had abandoned the realm when Gilgamesh had taken over.
Ironic that she was now realizing this after that man had left. Somewhere in there was a 'just desserts' joke that she couldn't quite form.
Those were all thoughts for another time entirely. Miki had been waiting in the Rukongai's forest for Kiriko to arrive to avoid such thoughts. She wasn't even in uniform at this point. She'd come to the forest in a pair of slacks and a black camisole rather then her Shihaksho. She had wanted Kiriko to come the same, casual, and had expressed so in the letter that she had sent off to her earlier in the week.
It had read something along the lines of:
"It's Sakamoto, I've been meaning to see you for a while now. How's That coming along? Did the texts help at all? Its been so long that I figured we could come compare notes? Maybe practice a bit? Come casual, forests of Rukon, I'm sure you'll be able to find me. This is as two independent women, not Officers of the Gotei, keep that in mind."
On second thought, maybe it had seemed a bit too casual, even inappropriate to write it that way. Though if Kiriko was as good as Miki thought she was then she would know that Miki was taken, perhaps not by who but that she was at least taken, and so she would likely not jump to those conclusions. Miki was just hoping she was actually going to come and come prepared. She had gotten a good feeling for Kiriko's reaitsu lately and she had been shocked. In the past Miki had been stronger then Kiriko, by a fair bit even, and now Kiriko had progressed to a level where she was more then likely even with Miki's own power level.
Miki had been so focused on herself, and this monster inside of her, that her training had been slacking. She's picked up a few new tricks, especially in hand-to-hand combat, but still she needed actual experience and she could think of no better sparring partner then Kiriko herself. Kiriko had offered, hadn't she? Or was she just imagining things again?
Sighing softly she shrugged to herself and lay her head back against the tree and wriggled in comfortably.
Hopefully she'd have her answer soon.
