Introduction to Humans Here on Bleach Gotei, the term Human describes any mortal spiritualist that is not a Quincy.
Normal humans that have awoken to their spiritual power by circumstances horrific and miraculous, Fullbringers whose mothers were attacked while they were still in the womb, and many others. Some may look human, others may appear monstrous. They come in all types, shapes, and sizes, but they all have one thing in common: They are few in number and often unique in what their powers have to offer. Many of them walk alone in the world, untaught and stumbling into a universe that has all new rules compared to the one they left behind. Others are taught by organizations, but these are the exception, not the rule.
Fullbringers, Mortals, and More It is difficult to sum up the vast range of possibilities of a Human. The majority of them are either the uncategorized spiritualists whose powers are often unique to the individual, or the Fullbringers, who call upon the soul of an object in order to produce a variety of effects.
Fullbringers are humans who, through means or another, have been exposed to the tainted reiatsu of a Hollow while still in the womb. For many years this will do nothing, allowing most of them to live a reasonably normal childhood. The point at which their powers manifest changes from individual to individual, sometimes developing as early as childhood. At some point in their life, however, they become attached to an object of incredible importance to them. Using their powers, they awaken the soul of the object, often transforming in the process. While the bond they share with specific objects is unique and powerful, they can also use their powers to awaken the souls of mundane objects for a variety of effects.
Mortal Spiritualist is a title applied to any human that has high enough spiritual pressure. Some Spiritualists are the result of a long bloodline, clans that go back centuries or millennia and whose members traditionally have high spiritual pressure. Sometimes this is just by happenstance, other times it’s a result of a forced awakening caused by the influx of a large amount of reiatsu and reiryoku into the soul. Whatever the cause, spiritualists often have powers that are totally unique to their soul. Even spiritualists from the same clan often have wildly disparate abilities, although occasionally certain techniques, such as a type of magic, can be inherited.
All humans have a physical body, inside of which is a soul that is attached to the body by a connection known as the Chain of Fate. This is no less true for Spiritualists and Fullbringers, however, their powers manifest through their physical body and not their spiritual form. Physical bodies are still governed by the laws of physics and biology, and are unable to fully sustain themselves off of will alone. Because of this, humans must develop their physical endurance to a far greater degree than spirits need to.
Humans with spiritual power tend to live longer than normal humans, although not to any large degree. Living into their early hundreds is fairly common, at least as long as they can survive the other threats inherent to their nature. As creatures with spiritual power, Hollows will want to feast upon their souls, often culling their population before it has a chance to really grow. As a result of this, it can be generally estimated that the normal number of human spiritualists that have powers has never exceeded 10,000, although actions taken recently have increased that number. The full effects of that increase have yet to be felt.
Most humans do not have the power to purify Hollows that they kill. Instead of moving on to Soul Society, those souls do not get the continuance of a spiritual life; instead, they will be reincarnated as mortals. It is possible for a Human to acquire the ability to purify souls, but this often requires specific training or techniques.
Organization of Humans Most humans never belong to any kind of group. Some humans never even realize there are others out there like them. At most, they belong to a clan of other spiritualists that support each other. Recently, a small group of noteworthy spiritualists have been attempting to create a global organization called the Karakura Spiritualist Network, to watch over the planet with a focus around Karakura Town, but this organization is still finding its footing. As such, it is still working to establish its authority.
The World of the Living
This Is Your Home It’s Earth as you know and love it. For a normal human everything is identical to what you know, but for a Spiritual human, everything is turned on its head.
You have little to no organization. If you’re lucky, you might have a mentor or someone who can educate you about the world you’ve just stepped into, or maybe even a clan to raise you. The laws of physics don’t apply to any of your spiritual powers. Your biology might be suddenly strange and terrible in defiance of all natural laws; once-heavy objects might be light as a feather in the face of your strength. Hollows hunt you, Shinigami declare their authority over you, and allies are few and far between. Unless you find yourself in one of the hives of spiritualist activity, such as Karakura Town and the greater Tokyo area, you might never see another. Ten thousand people spread out across the whole of the world isn’t a lot, even if you count the Quincy.
Yet unlike the Quincy, most of the time you won’t have a clan to back you up or train you. You’re alone in a world both familiar and alien, and your friends and family can’t understand what you’re going through unless they also have powers. Attempts to make them spiritually aware often fail without explanation. Worse still, any enemies you make can exploit this handicap to harm those you love.
People like you are out there, though. They gather in a few select places, forming hot spots of spiritual activity. The most notable of these hot-spots is Karakura town, a district in the city of Tokyo, Japan. It has not only become the center of spiritually aware humans, but the focus of the spiritual world as well. War has ravaged the city, at one point leaving it nothing more than rubble. While other spots of conflict have occurred worldwide, these are managed by the Shinigami, who rebuild damaged sites and wipe the memories of normal humans to prevent mass panic.
Yet you and your spiritually aware brethren cannot forget what has happened. You remember all the destruction, all the war and all the bloodshed that has occurred. You remember everything.

The Brightest Stars Given the infinite range of possibilities inherent to the nature of Humans, it is hard to define what Prestige is for them, so instead, let's talk about what prestige is. Prestige is a marker that indicates when the soul expands and reaches beyond its former limits. This growth often happens during times of great stress, when the character is forced to rise to meet new challenges and revelations that change them for good, although not necessarily for the better. This change comes with a new power, but, as with all powers that a Human character possesses, this is unique to the individual. It could be an evolution of their previous gifts or something new based on the events that triggered their progression.
While the path to becoming prestige is a personal journey unique to each individual character, these stories often have similarities. As such we can look at how the other, more defined races achieve this level of power in order to better clarify how this can be done. An Arrancar must learn to master and call upon their hollow nature without allowing it to destroy the humanity they have rediscovered, while a prospective Vaizard must confront their inner darkness and conquer it. In either case, both journeys require the individual to confront parts of themselves they might reject and come to terms with who they are. Given the unique nature of the Human race and the difficulties they face in becoming Prestige, it is highly suggested that you approach a member of Staff if you need help.
Whatever personal journey is necessary, the end result is a Prestige Human- a soul that often refuses classification, but now has the power to shine as the brightest star in a world desperately needing their light. They gain access to a Custom Prestige Power Skill, which follows the same rules as their old Power skill. While most of these powers require a release, due to the unique nature of Humans they are handled on a case-by-case basis. Typically speaking mastery of this skill grants +10 Reiatsu for both ranks, for a total of +60 Reiatsu at Grandmaster, but may change due to the style of their release.
Skills In addition to the basic skillset, Prestige Huamsn gain the following:
Prestige Custom Power Skill
