Ideals and Opinions [5th Division Training - Rated O for Orgasmic]

Sitting outside and enjoying the sun was one of the many pleasure in life, which this little girl enjoyed, and she was thoroughly enjoying it today. Days like this made her Division sit back and relax, be lazy and sleep. This meant a couple of things, first being she was finally able to relax and the second being the lack of fighting and sparring among her members. Her squad was thought of being brutes, idiots and barbaric savages. Now true they might seem on the outside, these men were some of the hardest working, when they worked, and loyal men in the whole Court Guard. To say they were misunderstood would be an understatement, and in fact at one time Hikari thought in a similar fashion. Lucky for this little girl she was taught by one of the most honorable and kind men that she had ever met. He was of course the former Captain of the squad. Not many people talked about this man in the open, but his name is always whispered with enormous amounts of respect and endearment. Hikari was also one who talked about this man in such a fashion. Even though many spoke about him in the past tense, she knew he still cared for this squad. Artix von Crux, or just Arty to some, had left to keep his honor and the honor of the division intact.

The roof of the training section was going to be a perfect place to escape from the constant push and pull in her division, and she would suppose that only a few people would come and train today if any. In her silent contentedness she slipped into a dream. It wasn’t about anything important, and Hikari knew it wasn’t the reality she belonged to, so she let this peaceful slumber continue, yet keeping her ear open for anyone or anything that would bother her sleep.

She didn’t quite know when she heard it, but she could hear the sound of a Zanpakutou cutting the air. She had memorized so many of these blades, and how they moved through the air, that she had a good idea who it was. She could also hear the shuffling of the trainee’s feet move around like he was doing some crazy stunts while fighting. Internally she sighed; she blamed herself for those who tried to copy her style of fighting. She was a master with her sword and second to hardly anyone with her kung fu. Her acrobatic kicks would send people flying through the walls if she so wished it, but killing her own members wasn’t something she would do.

Eventually the sounds got to loud to ignore anymore, which made the Captain give out a sigh. It wasn’t that the training had pissed her off, or that being awoken made her mad it was nothing like that. She was getting annoyed at how her member was trying to show his skills off to his imaginary opponent, that he was obviously fighting. Opening her eyes slowly, she let herself become more acclimated with the brightness; she looked over to the training area. It was her Lieutenant, as she had thought from just listening to him. It looked like he was fighting his shadow or something. Every once in a while he would pull some funny face, like he had just jabbed himself in some weird place, then he continued to fight.

Jumping down she walked towards the man, who was still swinging his sword around. His display of swordsmanship was getting increasingly more crisp and refined as she approached. She wanted to just watch for a bit more and see if it would get better, but as she closed the last gap, a sword came rushing down towards her head. With a quick flick of her wrist, she pulled her Zanpakutou out, unsheathed it and blocked the Zanpakutou. The strike landed firm, but it wasn’t even close to being strong enough to make her flinch a muscle. Hikari was pleased with his skill, but he was still lacking in proper footwork in order to pull off a strike of greater magnitude he would have to learn more.

Without hesitating, Hikari hit the inside of Rekkan’s inner thigh with her scabbard. She ushered it to move another five inches outward. This would allow for more gravity to come into play, with this strike. ”Not bad Rekkan, though your left leg is still tucked in too close. Pull it out just about five inches and you will get more of your strength behind your strike.” When he finally would snap out of his daydream and hear her words, or notice her, he would notice his Captain there. She stood a little over five feet tall, and was dressed like she always was. The kimono she wore today was a pastel pink color, the ubi was a layered pink and blue color to match her kimono. The oversized Haori, she wore, swayed in the gentle breeze. It was its normal pristine white, but the cloth was torn and tattered at its edges. This thing had gone though many battles, yet it looked cared for, like it was a precious part of this little girl’s person. On her sword arm there was a small trinket locked in a fine silver chain. It looked like a Christian cross of some sort, but if you looked closer it felt as if it had a lot of power, if placed in the right hands.

”Now Rekkan, step back and go through your combination again, but this time pay attention to your footwork. If you don’t land a harder hit on me this next time imma kick yer ass into the neighboring division, got that?” Her voice wasn’t angry or threatening to most, but her silvery small voice was one that her members had become accustom to quite fast. When she talked like this you had better obey her or you would be beat into a bloody pulp. The smile she showed with this voice was also dangerous. Her lips just a slit and her eyes sharp and focused. It was a look of pure enjoyment of battle, and the lust for blood. The 5th division didn’t train with training guards or with wooden sticks, so if you didn’t want to get hurt, you had best learn to avoid the hit, or get strong enough to where it wouldn’t affect you. Rekkan had just come to their temple, their holy place, and if he wasn’t ready for the training, he would be sent to the 3rd division sooner than wanted, and she didn’t want her Lieutenant giving her a worthless fight.

The first touch, and how his leg was tossed ever so easily, gave Rekkan a perception of what was going on. As the lieutenant of the fifth division, the shinigami should have the required level of experience to know who had just meddled with his training. Only the one above him would be capable of doing so, because others had to think twice or be utterly insane to do so. He pressed his shifting foot against the ground and jumped, executing a front flip for added momentum, as if his body rushed forward. A clear landing was the consequence of all motions performed until now, and there was still much to go. Considering the own words of Hikari-Taicho, Rekkan sighed and let out a respectful laugh.

"Do you remember last time we fought, Taicho?", asked Takimoto with a calm expression. Maybe he didn't remember it himself, so it was probably time to awaken some slumbering memories. His gaze traversed the air, like a puncturing needle ready to annihilate. It was admirable just to sense resolve bursting from his essence's entirety. A violent action took place somewhere else at that precise moment. Whether it was a bullet skewering the atmosphere and piercing the flesh of a human, or a Hollow devouring a Plus, Rekkan saw it as the ringside bell. He closed his eyes for brief moments and, as soon as he opened them, there was a cry of sound. The impulse given by the spiritual energy that surfaced below the shinigami's feet was none other than a flash step, a technique granted to incite higher levels of speed than the average death god.
And he brutalized the air, raping it with a clean strike of his sword. The blade sliced through it all, almost as if it created a gap of nothingness, gravity zero. It descended in a single-handed swing towards the Captain's petite figure, a form that was nothing compared to that of Rekkan's. However, he knew there was no underestimating one that looked like a child. Instead, he was playing by the Bushido and Kendo. The first strike was in motion, but there was a trail of subconscious reactions that forced Rekkan into preparing a second strike. It was highly likely his Captain would block the first, so he needed a second invitation.

Having appeared right in front of his superior, Rekkan had stretched his left leg as he hopped forward with his right,m bending it at the time of the downward swing. His right hand wielded Ryoku with a hard grip, fingers locking tight with the hilt of the blade. Even though Rekkan's left arm remained unemployed, he planned on using it very soon, with his intention being clearly hidden from his opponent's mind. During the entire process, there was no flinging nor blinking from Rekkan's eyes. Instead, they locked on to the entire form of Hikari, studying the forest. It was futile to focus on a leaf, because by doing so you'd miss the tree. But it went deeper than that. By focusing on the tree, one would miss the forest. Having been taught this, Rekkan wasn't going to be caught unprepared. At the moment his swing was reaching the Captain, the shinigami forced little strength out from the attack by sliding his left leg in order to better position himself for his plan. In comparison to his former strike which was so easily blocked by Hikari, this one would pack more punch and precision.

Hikari’s face sunk when he pulled the flip off. She wondered why her squad always wanted to show off their acrobatic skills. Sure most of them fought in unconventional ways, and some would just be outright brawlers, but this flip was unnecessary. Sure it was great form, and definitely was a good flip, but this was going to be a training session, and she didn’t feel like fighting someone who just jumped around in flips the whole time.

“Do you remember the last time we fought, Taicho?”

His question was valid, Hikari didn’t know if she had even had a real fight with him before. This would be a good time to have their first. He said “fought”, so she would treat it as so, but she wouldn’t fight at her true power, unless she was surprised. It wasn’t a hidden secret that no one in the squad so far had pushed her into Shikai, in fact even as a Lieutenant she was never forced into it, so not many new what it looked like or what it did. They debated about it inside the squad proper, while she wasn’t around, but she heard the whispers, and they were always very wrong in their ideas. This made her chuckle to herself though. Maybe it was time to show one of her squad members the difference in powers between Sasanoha’s sealed and released forms, but her Lt would have to prove himself first.

She had to study this man though, Rekkan was her Lt after all, and most likely strong enough to do some damage to her. Most people would cower at the thought of being cut, or hurt, but to Hikari this fueled the fire inside. It wasn’t that she didn’t feel any pain; by all means she was like every other being. When she got cut it hurt, but what she did with the pain was the thing that separated this little captain with the rest of the world. She would let the pain well up and increase the fire inside, she would turn that fire into bloodlust, and the pure enjoyment of being pushed to the point of feeling pain. Hikari’s eyes narrowed evilly at the thought of the possibility of this happening. Yes she would feel the rush and enjoyment of battle. When she fought against anyone strong, there was nothing else. Death didn’t matter; a cut or a slash didn’t matter. Even if she lost a limb it wouldn’t matter. It was the enjoyment of the fight that made her stronger and stronger.

Rekkan’s slash came in quick and his grip was strong, this pleased Hikari. She knew that he would be coming at her with all he had, but this strike had different properties to it. This one was a feint, and either a kick or a hit would follow if she blocked. They had not fought seriously before, she knew it. If they had, he would have known that these feints in attacks were much to like her own to be fooled by them. The fact that he thought the only weapon she had at her disposal was her blade, Rekkan was sorely mistaken. She used her scabbard just as much as her sword when attacking and defending. Feint attacks were either met with her blade, her scabbard, or her feet. She was an elite Kung Fu fighter after all.

The Shun-po was flawless as well, Hikari smiled even more. This was going to be a wonderful fight, though the little Captain would have to teach him a lesson in humility first. He was good with the sword, good enough to keep up with her, but his stamina and strength were severely lacking. She would have to match this in order to make it a slightly more challenging fight.

She let the sword fall dangerously close to her body, but at the last moment she grabbed onto Rekkan’s wrist and gripped it tight. She wouldn’t use her full strength, because it would have crushed is wrist. The small hands held on firm so it would hurt to withdraw or to yank it free. He could if he wanted to, but it would definitely strain his sword wrist in the process. If he didn’t draw back Hikari would draw him closer to him so his face would be inches from hers. She would take whatever hit came next, it didn’t matter, and all that mattered was to get him serious.

”You are quite mistaken if you think a strike like that will even scratch me. Release your sword, call its name. Show me your strength and don’t let up your wonderfully intense spiritual pressure. Don’t try to cut me, kill me if you can. Hikari’s voice would be quiet, but calm. The spiritual pressure that oozed from her body would drown many into fear, but this was a member of her squad. He would meet her with likewise power and kill her if he could.

Hikari took whatever attack in this mans combo, then release him from her grip.

The thrill to fight an opponent stronger than him was better than the drugs Rekkan left in the Living World. His attack had been blocked by a powerful entity that was his captain, and the deranged shinigami would probably know what came next. His wrist gripped tight, the desire of Hikari for him to release Ryoku and go all out on her. It was if the Zanpakuto wanted to lash out at the higher ranked shinigami, roaring as it did in Rekkan's ears. However, he denied that wish, for he would fight alone against his Captain as long as she did the same. Ryoku knew of this and realized that the Bushido was deep in Rekkan's heart. He would fight with honor, even at the cost of his petty wrist.

If Hikari thought that Rekkan was afraid to lose a limb, she was mistaken. The death god was keen on self-sacrificing himself for any cause that he saw just, even a simple training battle. He was there to prove a point, that which he had evolved ever since he joined the fifth division. His Zanjutsu was forever developed through his academy years, yet it was only in the fifth that it was truly developed. All the hard work Rekkan sustained alongside Ryoku in order to surpass his fears of succumbing to drugs. But most importantly, it changed him inside, from a suicidal and homicidal lunatic to a crazy, yet righteous warrior.
His first attack was no feint at all. In fact, even though it lost strength due to Rekkan's forced movement of his leg, it was still believed to injure the captain. Why? Rekkan would not deceive an opponent. He assumed his first strike wouldn't hit, so he prepared for the second, always showing Hikari his next move.

Left foot slid forward, and Rekkan used the way his captain blocked his attack and momentum to create a new one by raising his knee and pushing it forward. That knee was aimed at the torso of the captain. Right leg held stable against the ground, providing the only source of balance as the shinigami threw himself against his captain. If his knee slammed against Hikari's front, she would be knocked back, and the impact would probably have her lose grip of Rekkan's wrist, especially considering the surprise effect. If not, and she found the possibility to counter, one couldn't assume to be the only one using more than the sword. After all, Rekkan knew it was just an extension of his body, to be used like any other part of his form. And if the katana is an extension, so its the guard that saves it from getting rusty by the rain or pale from the sun. Her words still echoed in his ears, but instead of following her wish, Rekkan's resolve pushed him into a sadomasochist speech.
"Cut you, kill you... It's all the same to me. But one thing I won't do is release my power because you want me to. I will do so if I am forced by your own strength, or if you release yours yourself. Tear me apart, ravage my flesh and spirit with your power. I will not budge. A thousand blades may pierce my form, but my undying essence will find a way to rise again and break you."

But his knee did bash against Hikari's form. The momentum utilized by Rekkan was thought to be enough to make her release her grip, but the shinigami found out that he was mistaken not a long time afterward. She had released her grip and wanted to take whatever hit came next. A lesson? Taught to the not quite humble Rekkan? He grew annoyed, but understood that it was not on purpose. Maybe it was, but just a simple incentive to try and get him to release Ryoku. However, he wouldn't fall for that trick. His mind was set, and his soul was strong on its own. With the reinforcement of his beliefs being dictated by his speech, the shinigami was going to make a new attack.
He pushed his body forward, left foot taking charge of the front line. However, a distance away from Hikari, Rekkan planked that same foot on the ground and created a slingshot effect by shifting his body and turning it violently to the right. Keen eyes falling upon every action and reaction of the Fifth Division's captain, the shinigami spun in a perfect one-eighty and lashed his sword out in a strong horizontal swing from left to right, aimed to skewer Hikari's body from shoulder to shoulder. The speed and power implemented by the slingshot effect could be dangerous for Rekkan himself, because she could capitalize on his momentum to injure him. Even though the first time there was no need for it, Rekkan knew that he would require an extra weapon. Whether it be his sliding right foot or racing left arm, even coming to the possibility of using his scabbard. Maybe it was the influence of Hikari's style, or simply the training Rekkan had during his time as a shinigami, but he knew how to use every property of his Zanpakuto, even its guard.

"Cut you, kill you... It's all the same to me. But one thing I won't do is release my power because you want me to. I will do so if I am forced by your own strength, or if you release yours yourself. Tear me apart, ravage my flesh and spirit with your power. I will not budge. A thousand blades may pierce my form, but my undying essence will find a way to rise again and break you."

The thought of him not wanting to release his Zanpakutou because of such a silly thing as “Hikari wanting him to”, or because she hadn’t released Sasanoha, made Hikari chuckle inside. Rekkan was fighting based off of honor, and the Bushido code. That code had very little value in this temple, the house of the strong, but Hikari could accept and respect his views. Was he made strong by his honor, and upholding the Bushido code? Hikari didn’t have the answer to that question, but she knew that with his ability and his strength, the only way for her to release her own sword was if he did it first. Besides her Lieutenant did give her a way to make him release his Zanpakutou, and that was with her strength. It was folly for her Lieutenant to egg this, young looking Captain, with words such as what he said. Forced by her own strength it was then.

As she let go of Rekkan’s wrist, he thrust his knee into her mid section. It had good strength, it had good momentum and it was precisely placed. Rekkan used this kick's momentum to step back a bit to come in for another attack, this one would be his sword doing the strike, not his knee again. Hikari knew this, he was a straight forward fighter, and he followed the ways of the warrior. He wouldn’t mask his attacks. Maybe he thought this knee would cause her imbalance, Hikari silently congratulated him for his tactics. Though his knee did put her in a backward position, and had knocked her backwards, her muscles didn’t falter under the kick. She was a master of her own body, and in turn was able to take the kick with relative ease. She would use her sore stomach as a focal point, and then as he cut and slashed the Captain, Hikari would use those as the drive to gain greater focus and power.

He pushed forward and spun in a well designed 180 degree turn. He would be striking from Hikari’s right; the slash would go across her body if she didn’t block this attack. It was wonderful to see her valued men in the squad give it their all in order to just cut the Captain. Hikari was going to have fun with this one, the 5th division samurai warrior, but she would have to teach him something other than technique with the sword. She needed to teach him the values of the 5th division or in the least let him figure it out while she talked with him. This was training after all, if it was a fight to the death, or fight for position or just a fight, it was all just training in the end.

Hikari raised her sword arm up, and let her blade rest along the length of her forearm. She didn’t hold her Zanpakutou like most of the Shinigami, who attacked in a Kendo type style, no she held her Zanpakutou backwards. This was primarily because her Zanpakutou, in its sealed state didn’t have a guard. It looked like a finely carved, bamboo stick. She used a reverse slashing style, and she didn’t jab or thrust downwards with her weapon. She slashed side to side, and from down to up. She held her scabbard in her left hand, and fought much the same way with that. Yes she would employ both items in her hand as weapons, as defensive walls, or whatever she needed them to be. She had a very unorthodox style of fighting.

The slash was indeed stronger this time, his momentum was powerful, his strike thrust forward at the precise moment in order to maximize its damage. Yes he was most definitely a master at his art, now Rekkan’s superior would show him what it takes to beat her. The power that was required in order to make this ‘out –of-place’ Captain submit, or even push her back. Hikari knew he had the ability to do so, but showing him would have to be her challenge.

Using the momentum of the block, Hikari also went into a spin, but she crouched instead of lashing out with her sword in turn. With her legs crossed in a crouching position, she began her counter. Flexing her left hip she continued the spin, speeding it up quite a bit. Extending both arms horizontally the attacks came low, blade then scabbard, blade then scabbard. While this happened she slowly stood up and continued the twirling tornado of attacks. Her speed was intense, though if one wanted to dodge these it would not be hard, her forward progress was slow, yet the attack created an almost impenetrable defense. If you came too close, you would be cut, if you dove in low, all that she would do is have to angle her arms to lower the slashing. It could be done, but it would be a risky try.

After the seventeenth rotation, as soon as it started, it stopped. Hikari’s Haori wrapped itself to the side of her, and the dust swirled around her, not wanting to part from its dance. Then she was gone. A flash step came at amazing speed, if you hadn’t focused, or even looked, all you would have seen is the vanishing of this person, into thin air. Rekkan would be able to see a flash step of that speed; Hikari didn’t put her all into it, but matched his speed instead. She appeared right in front of the man, and instantly put her blade arm forward, touching his chest with her fist. This wasn’t a strike, but a lesson.

”When exiting a flash step, your next attack needs to be in action all ready, or they will see it coming. Arrancar, or Hollow, or Rouge Shinigami will not fight you with the same honor you will fight them. Your code dictates you to fight straightforward, with no deceit, right? So let me ask you this Lieutenant,” She had intentionally called him by his title, which hardly anyone did in the 5th, hell she was a bit frustrated that Rekkan still called her Taicho, even though the rest of the squad called her Hika, but that talk would come at another day. ”Tell me what is honor? As the Lieutenant of this division what is the thing that brings us honor? You are a warrior of the 5th aren’t you?”

Hikari had to learn what it took to gain respect in this squad, and even upholding their code. The members of the fifth division held themselves to different standards, and Hikari wanted to teach this man how to channel his code into something greater. She wanted to turn his beliefs into something that would uphold the fifth’s standards, and at the same time appease his own sense of honor or justice.

Hikari blocked, using the very momentum of her lieutenant to create her own attack. Rekkan's eyes widened at first, but not at a level that could be recognized as surprise. No, he was happy. The edge of his lips pierced the left cheek of the warrior, a graceful arrow penetrating the armor of a valiant samurai. His emotions were high, the thrill of fighting rushing back to the man who could only know such a thing from battling those stronger than him. The spiral of death that began consuming the air around the Fifth Division's Taicho was yet another source of the Lieutenant's excitement. However, she probably did not count on being undersized for that technique. Nevertheless, it was dangerous and enlightening. Rekkan paid close attention to every moment his superior made in order to assimilate them. It wasn't to use them, as Rekkan did not see learning as reproducing the techniques of others. Instead, it was to fill them in a bank of captured motions that would help the shinigami perceive a combat style in the future. That bank was stored in the subconscious of Rekkan, working at an instinctive level the highest philosophers of Death could not understand.

Rekkan's own attack threw him off balance, especially because Hikari forced it so. However, the shinigami's reflexes were not to be underestimated. Knowing he was being sucked into the spiral that would slash his body in several halves, the lieutenant also caught the notion that his right and bended leg was the way towards safety from this one. In fact, it was a way to enter a position of check. He jumped on one leg, as quickly as he could. He felt a sharp pain coming from the side of his leg, forcing the shinigami to lose shreds of momentum as his body went airborne. His leap was successful, though, rewarding him with the chance of hovering above Hikari's form for a very limited time. "If the lion fails his frontal strike..."

The shinigami cocked his right arm back, shoulder tensed for the thrust that was to come. The very edge of the blade tingled before the start of the attack, for as Hikari spun below, Ryoku's fangs were unleashed downwards, represented by a strike with killing intent. The air would even hiss around the Zanpakuto as it was skewered with such brutal strength and outrageous speed. Rekkan was aware that his attack could fail. He felt a drop of blood commit suicide as it splattered the ground, tainting it with bestial energy. Yet, that motivated the lieutenant to further increase his attempts, premeditating a block. His left hand held tight unto the scabbard as his thrust ended. Hitting or not, being successful or failing, at least his potential was leaking from him, expanding.
He finished in a crude and simplistic landing, applying force in the muscle of his legs to forbid his body from succumbing to gravity. Yet it was then that he realized his attack failed or not. For the shinigami who was currently his opponent had vanished, simply to appear again in front of him. "Flash Step...", he thought with a smirk visible in his mind. But when? Did she use it to dodge Rekkan's attack or simply gain the upper-hand on him? The shinigami could not waste his time betting on one or the other. The certainty was that she was there, standing in front of him, with her fist touching the center of his chest.

The words Hikari-Taicho chose... The questions that she wanted answered... Was Rekkan able to answer them? He had learned the Way of the Warrior from his Zanpakuto, the only one who cared about the lieutenant. Ryoku forced him out of despair and continued to do so, preventing him from falling back into the pit of enslaving addictions. But what was honor for Rekkan other than the words used by another? Did he really feel it? And if he didn't, why was he so prompt in following that code? No, he felt it all. It was carved deep within his soul and there was no way to pull it out.

"To be en par with the greatest while hiding nothing, having only the latent and visible powers you possess. To embrace pain and death in Truthfulness, for the sake of your soul. To have a legitimate combat against an opponent... Honor can be all those things, but in fact, it's just..."

"A word."

Rekkan was certain of that. He realized it just then, but it was better later than never. Ryoku would release thunderous roars caused by Pride. For what one calls Honor, another calls Stupidity, and Rekkan was beyond that. The shinigami was past the meaning of words and sentences, paragraphs and stories. His book would be a world of nothingness, for only the instinct could prevail.

"Why should I explain to you what a word means? You ask me what is the thing that brings us, shinigami of the Fifth Division, Honor...", he stopped once more, smiling. He was home. "Survival. Each one of us survives by any means necessary, one way of reaching the end being no less nor more of the next. But each one lives up to his or her standards, those taught to them by Life and Death. I will survive for this Division's Honor and show my opponents the true meaning of existence.", his words became thrown out of faith alone, a pure believer of the Way, "To endure all in a being's way..."

His power escalated, from feeling the urge of the essence to crawl out. Spiritual pressure pushed out of Ryoku as he too wanted to feel that pressure that was leaking every so proudly. "I won't beat you today...", muttered Rekkan, "But I will cut you!"
The shinigami's scabbard arose, tip bashing against the wrist of Hikari. In a single motion, Rekkan reversed the grip over his Zanpakuto and slashed from right to left, a mind blowing cry being unleashed from his lips. "Roar, Ryoku!"

Hikari didn’t even sense his jump, nor the slash that came down. She had put her fist on his chest to show him the proper way to do a flash step attack. Seconds later Hikari felt a strange pressure coming from her head, like her heart had been placed there and it was beating. The Captain didn’t even know what it was until after she had spoken, her mind finally catching up with her body. First blood had been drawn from her body. Hikari had not underestimating her Lieutenant; they were the strongest Division in the Seireitei, so naturally he would be the strongest Lieutenant out of all the others. Hikari’s pride for this man swelled in her chest, he was a strong man, and in this squad strength meant everything.

"To be en par with the greatest while hiding nothing, having only the latent and visible powers you possess. To embrace pain and death in Truthfulness, for the sake of your soul. To have a legitimate combat against an opponent... Honor can be all those things, but in fact, it's just... A word."

His last words were true, honor was just a word, but there was so much more to upholding the Honor of this squad. To this squad this “word” was much more, and much more to Hikari. She would have to teach Rekkan what she believed Honor was. Hikari could sense the power from his Lieutenant's Zanpakutou flare as he said these words, if it was out of pride of what its master said or the excitement of battle Hikari didn’t know, but it showed the power needed to do more damage than the cut on her head.

"I won't beat you today... But I will cut you!"

Hikari laughed briefly at this comment. The wound on her head hadn’t started bleeding yet, so he had no idea that he “had” all ready cut the Captain. His scabbard knocked her hand out of the way, and a precision strike came from Rekkan’s right, and slashing to his left, if it had been anyone else other than a select few in the Seireitei, this cut would find its mark fatally. Hikari was one of the people here in the Court Guard who could easily have dodged this, but she was fighting her Lieutenant. This was a squad fight, a fight between the two powerhouses of this Division. Hikari would let Rekkan cut her, knowing that dodging the attack would be an act of insult, she would be insulting her loyal and strong Lieutenant.

The slash was quick and deadly, Hikari had to lean back just enough so that this cut would not prove fatal. To see someone use precision almost on par with hers made Hikari quite proud. She was also proud of what he was doing right now, he released his Zanpakutou. Hikari knew that if he continued to fight with such quality, she would herself be forced into Shikai. This would be a feat for everyone to awe at, and from what it looked like, a good portion of the Division had started to gather wanting to see their Captain and their Lieutenant fight each other.

The entry way was now packed, and the roof tops now seated a good deal of her men and women. The all desired to see if their Lieutenant could push the, questionably invincible, Captain into seriousness and make their Captain release her sword. Some even debated on wither she would be forced into Bankai or not, of course they were stared at and hit for insulting the Captain, by entertaining thoughts that the Lieutenant was on par with the Captain. What they hadn’t seen, though, was the power and precision their Lieutenant was showing. His attacks didn’t hold the same sheer force of hers, nor did his defense close any gap that Hikari couldn’t take advantage of, but Rekkan was good.

Hikari hopped back in order to get out of the range of this Shikai, she hadn’t seen it before and didn’t want to be caught up in something too quickly. This also gave her time to pull the top half of her kimono from her shoulders and let it drape to its sides. You could see two distinct scars on her, otherwise unblemished body. One was going from the tip of her left shoulder, all the way down to her right hip. It looked like a nasty and evil cut. The other was a pit in her shoulder, it looked as if someone had shoved a hot prodding iron through her shoulder. No one really asked about these scars, and hell it was the first time that many of them had ever seen them. They could only speculate how she had gotten such deep and wonderful scars. Even though the scars did mar her body, there was a silver chain around her neck that had a beautiful cross hanging on it. This was another one of Hikari's precious treasures.

Captain Miyazaki got a few whistles from some new guys at the view of her bare skin, she was of course wearing wrapping bandages around her bust, but she was revealing much more skin than any one of the squad had ever seen. The whistles were silenced by blades and threats to kill them if they did it again.

The slash she had received from Rekkan was going to be an uncomfortable one, it was soaking the only thing covering her chest, and the stickiness was going to clam up her skin and bleed continuously. This was OK. Hikari was having fun, she just needed to let the Lieutenant know why she spoke of honor. ”Great cut! I see you are finally serious! Let me tell you why I speak of honor, and what it means to this squad! Too many times have I seen new members come into our ranks consumed by hatred for the world. Too many times have they come here into our own, because they were despised for being who they were and no one else would take them. So what if they grew up in the 78th Rukon district. So what if they had to fight for everything they had ever cared to get. They survived to live another day, and become Shinigami of the Great 5th Division. Honor is everything to this squad. Honor is achieving power by being true to ourselves, and ignoring the views of the outside. You don’t know any other way to live, most of you had to lie, cheat and steal to survive. Though this is wrong, you know no better. Honor is the ability to look past your own history and becoming strong. Strong enough to prove everyone wrong, prove that we are not barbaric savages, and if they don’t believe us? We’ll beat that truth into them with our swords, feet and fists, until they believe us. That my friend is Honor to the 5th. Hikari spoke calmly and quiet enough so that Rekkan could hear her words, but wouldn't travel to the whole crowd that gathered around them, in their new coliseum.

The vision of blood splattering from his captain's body, and the sight of her bare skin, made Rekkan feel somewhat accomplished. He had injured the leader of the Fifth Division, the blade of his Zanpakuto now dripping with the blood of a stronger foe. But the shinigami's motivation was seriously affected by the common whistles and disrespectful words of the division's newcomers. Even though the veteran officers were already on top of the situation, the Lieutenant felt obliged to do something. He leaped back, pointing at a small group of members behind the small form of Hikari. His eyes narrowed, and there was a demonic surge of power coming from them. It was a devilish intent, one that specified his need to kill the newcomers if they were to continue mocking a superior. Of course, Rekkan wanted to teach them not only a lesson of respect for a higher rank, but for an equal or inferior being. Respect was one of the Virtues of the Bushido, and it was required to uphold the Honor of the proud Fifth Division, based on the explanation Hikari gave her lieutenant.

Then, the shinigami looked back at his current opponent, shifting his body and positioning himself in a crude battle stance. His Zanpakuto was held by both hands, scabbard back in place. His right close to the guard, his left gripping below. "That is one of the Honors I will uphold, Hikari-Taicho.", stated the shinigami, taking one deep breath afterwards. "Now... Show me your power."
Rekkan's left foot slid forward and his knee bended while his right leg stood behind. His Zanpakuto was held upwards, falling to a certain degree forward. It was a sturdy grip though, one that would be difficult to break. The shinigami's resolve was burning, his expression more serious and dreadful than ever before.

There was a moment's fury, mainly incited by Ryoku. The lion was craving for more blood himself, especially after feeling it was from such a strong opponent. The beast's power enveloped the shinigami and that could be sensed. Even though the first release of a Zanpakuto was no match for a full one, it was if Ryoku was doing everything he could, exceeding his own self to give Rekkan more spiritual energy. The bond they had was unmatched by any shinigami and his allied Zanpakuto. Rekkan was aware of this, as was Ryoku, and they used their combined powers to further destroy their underestimating enemies. For many times they were criticized by others, always brought down by their piers because a shinigami had to fight to win any way possible, even if he needed to resort to cheating. This was a lesson to them all, all of those remnants and strays that joked around about a death god that did battle only in frontal and direct engagement, with no feints nor hidden attacks.

He remained stable and balanced, now waiting for his Taicho to make the first move. After taking the first step for two times, the shinigami planned to take the second this time. He narrowed his eyes once more, revealing his focus. His former tensed body was completely relaxed, specific muscles working for the purpose of righteous and quick movement to dodge or block from any incoming attack.

Rekkan shot some evil glances to the spectators of this fight. He was surely not impressed with some of the actions that his teammates had displayed. Hikari didn’t much mind, this was a fight and getting involved with the crowd just dulled your senses and made you lose focus. This Captain didn’t have to worry too much about his focus though. His senses whipped right back into the fight, his eyes fueled by the strength that Hikari had displayed. She liked his eyes like this, no fear, no dismay, no questioning. He was focused on beating his Captain to a pulp, or go down doing his best.

This fight had proven one thing to Hikari; Rekkan was almost as fast as her and if she didn’t fight with her full speed she would find herself with a few more cuts. Hikari didn’t much mind this as much as she once did, but the thought of her smooth skin being damaged in a more visible area made her a little upset. With her concerns about how the battle was going to go, with her fighting at a weaker level, Rekkan once again rose to the occasion and gave her permission to fight at full power. Unwise as it was, she knew that it would be a good experience for this young Lieutenant.

The smile on her face was nothing more than scary. Her eyes focused on Rekkan, her intent to kill him shouted at his soul. If he was any less of a Shinigami as he was, then he might have a vision of her Zanpakutou piercing his chest right where his heart was, or a fatal cut along his neck. This little Captain didn’t have much reiryoku, but her total Reiatsu level was enormous. Gripping Sasanoha she let her massive power explode from her. She was glowing a light green color, her blade and scabbard glowed the same color.

The reiatsu started to solidify around her scabbard, so that it looked like another blade without a guard. The dripping energy oozed out of the scabbard, and shattered onto the ground. Not many had seen this technique, so the onlookers got deadly silent wanting to see again, or for the first time one of their Captains powerful attacks. In the silence she dashed forth, to the untrained eye she looked like she had flash stepped, but to Rekkan’s trained eye he could see her just springing into motion with exceptional speed. Hikari was finally feeling the excitement needed in order to bring a good fight about.

The Captain had met Rekkan in just a split second, her blade arm came out of nowhere in a cut towards his neck, from his left to right. He would have to block this in order to avoid his head becoming detached from his shoulders. In the same motion the scabbard came in lower from his right to left. Her arm was extended to its full length. The green blade slowly slipping off of the scabbard, into what looked like a flying scythe blade. The attack was a special technique that Hikari had mastered in her Zanpakutou’s sealed state. Dodging the first attack by stepping back would do nothing to help block this next attack, but Hikari knew he could find a way to avoid dying from this attack, but she wasn’t done.

Using the momentum of her left hand attack she circled her arm in a counter clock wise motion and thrust the scabbard into the ground, causing it to sink about ¾ of its length into the ground. Gripping the top of the scabbard, she planted her arm down, and flexed her muscles to bring her whole body into a handstand on top of the implanted scabbard. With her left leg extended straight, she flexed her stomach muscles and forced her body to head downwards in an axe kick motion. This kick would do more than just crush bones, or shatter his clavicle. This kick was aimed to shove Rekkan’s head into his torso. If he was able to avoid this Hikari would follow this up with a downward jabbing motion of her blade arm. The same green blade now formed over its plain metal form. She was launching this attack yet again.

The attacks went off in one fluid motion, and Hikari was focused so much on Rekkan that she didn’t even know if she had struck him or not, but she knew that he was good enough to avoid death. The ground below her foot exploded and dust billowed up in fluffy clouds, the two techniques exploded into action, thus kicking up more dust. Everything in front of this Powerful Captain was covered in dust, rock and stone. It let Rekkan conceal himself, and give him a chance to recover. Hikari would wait for him and let this blow-to-blow fight continue, his turn next. His time to try and kill her.

In the beginning, there was nothing. Then, a sudden burst of power came in the form of a flick of the body forward, speed surpassing the reflexes of others other than Rekkan. His eyes tracked the form and substance of his Captain, blade rising as he held his Zanpakuto in a reverse motion. His body pushed itself forward. Even if it wasn't as fast as the opponent's, the surprise of bashing against his enemy would count for something. Rekkan wasn't afraid of being cut and he would show that with his movement. Between the time Hikari began her motion to her full stop, the shinigami had switched wielding arms, gripping the hilt of Ryoku with his left hand. He turned to the left planting his scabbard to the side of his sharp blade. As the energy came from his Captain's Zanpakuto, the wild animal hardened the muscles at his backs. "Rei...", he thought, releasing a wave of energy to counter that of his opponent's. From his blade it was unleashed, and as it clashed against that of Hikari, there was the further hard block of Zanpakuto against Zanpakuto. The blades met, and Rekkan completely ignored the scabbard that now smashed his backs with strength. However, his previous movement was still in motion.

He withstood the pain, raging shoulder aiming to crush the head of Hikari. Yet if it hit or not, and fully knowing that the deadly attack was no longer a threat, Rekkan quickly flicked his wrist and fingers, swapping the grip on his sword yet again. He was now coming from top left to bottom left as the dust overcame the battlefield. The shinigami took advantage, Ryoku's might skewering the air and making a visible rift, the only one that would allow Hikari to notice the attack with some level of anticipation with her eyes. This did not mean that she could not notice by the sound, if she could get past the explosion that was consequence of the clash between their energies just moments ago. He wished to cut her past the shoulder attack, after having her pushed a few inches if it hit. But it wasn't over. Rekkan knew of this but failed to premeditate the entirety of his Captain's intents. She carved her scabbard on the ground and placed herself on top of it, gaining enough height to be able to make her leg fall down on her Lieutenant's form. The dust clouded Rekkan's vision, but his slight shift to the left helped almost miraculously to survive the crushing damage of her kick. It slammed hard on his right shoulder, forcing him down and actually making the ground shatter further with the strength of the kick. He felt his muscles and bones wither, thoughts of gore and malice rushing up to him. The shinigami was having the time of his life, almost as if they were the happiest memories taken by pictures that some human makes a slideshow from. He rushed up only to meet the falling blade of his Captain, now shifting his body from side to side as it was cut by energy and metal. He grunted and moaned in both pleasure and pain as he rose up from the ground, sword clashing with Hikari's in mere moments that prevented her Zanpakuto from carving deep into his flesh. Then he enforced spiritual energy below his feet, quickly unleashing it in the form of a flash step.

Out from the cloud of dust and above it, Rekkan's scarred and bleeding body was sighted by everyone around them. His eyes stared down at the battlefield below, mouth slightly open letting forced sighs come out from it. His body was damaged, and his head was barely in existence considering the wave of attacks that it escaped from. He was still in the game, and would show it with the resolve of a true Death God from the Fifth. His Pride and Honor were at stake, and he would never give up on them. Like a Lion patrolling His territory, claiming the fallen prey as his own, standing above any other animal in the wild Savannah. He switched wielding arms again, now gripping his Zanpakuto with the right hand. His scabbard was grabbed by his left, slowly twirling around and increasing in speed as the shinigami prepared for the assault. Blood dripped down from both his blade and clothes, soaking everything in a wet and dreadful crimson color. Out of a sudden, the shinigami's scabbard was hurled down, a sense of rotation being given to it as it reached unimaginable speed. It was swallowed whole by the dust below, but when it crashed against the solid ground below, it expelled a wave of transparent energy that dispersed the molecules of dirt in the air and turned everything clear. He wanted his Captain to witness this final attack.

Rekkan lifted his right arm above his head. Ryoku's blade glowed in fury, the massive concentration of spiritual energy giving it a shining white light with blue hue. It gained further mass each moment it was pulled back, a lion preparing his pursue on the oblivious prey. There was a rushing feeling from his body and sword, a vibration that reported to him. The power of both shinigami and Zanpakuto combined was at its limit. It was ready.

He grasped the hilt of his Zanpakuto with both hands and let go a ferocious roar from his being as the blade ravaged the atmosphere, unleashing a powerful wave of energy that grew in power and size. It was such a raw release of power, completely matching Rekkan's instinctive spirit. He panted, feeling Ryoku's power wither. Not long after, still as the wave rained down on Hikari, the Zanpakuto sealed itself. Rekkan growled as the wave of energy reached its target. Upon crash, it would release such a powerful explosion it was probable that it would level this Division's training grounds. Maybe it was because of this reason alone that the old Seireitei forbid its members from releasing their weapons. However, it was all the more thrilling when they were allowed. However, it was over for Rekkan. He was eager though. Hopefully, this single attack would push his Captain into releasing Bankai to forcefully block it, preventing her Division from being leveled. Either that or she'd have to push her first release to its extremes. But those were only simple assumptions with no matter in Rekkan's mind.

He waited for the aftermath... Patiently...

The flash of an object ejected itself from the dirt and debris, Hikari’s Lieutenant had launched himself above the cloud. With a launch of his arm, that was obviously injured quite a bit, his scabbard shot towards the ground. The impact cleared the area of all remnants of the dying dust that Hikari had kicked up with her attacks. She paid little focus on the scabbard itself, she doubted that he would be able to pull off a move like what she had just done; the attack was going to come from him.

His body glowed, his blade glowed, Hikari knew that a bigger technique was going to be hurled at her, but how big she didn’t know. As Hikari looked up at Rekkan, she could feel a massive amount of spiritual pressure building up within him. As the energy blast was launched her eyes went from curiosity, to amazement. Hikari knew that there was no way she would just be able to pass this attack off as a weak technique and just take it stoically. No this one would hurt if she didn’t dodge it, but a bigger problem had Hikari focused on the blast. If she dodged it, the wall behind her would be destroyed by the blast, no big deal, but the people on top of it were in danger of dying. The Captain bit her lip and congratulated Rekkan for forcing her hand, even if it was not on purpose. She knew he wouldn’t do something like this on purpose, but the lust of battle had blinded him to the outside influences. This included the Shinigami on the wall.

As fast as she had moved before, Hikari threw Sasanoha into the ground, cutting the hard stone like it had been nothing but bread. Now Sasanoha was planted right next to the scabbard. Hikari dug her heels deep into the blunt end of the blade, and the scabbard, waiting for the shot of condensed spiritual pressure to get to her.

Putting a good majority of her own power into the hold, she stopped the attack as it hit. Her hands extended forward holding this strong technique in place, both of them vying for the power to overcome the other. The struggle lasted for only a few moments, but the eternity Hikari felt was tiring and caused quite a bit of pain to her hands. It was finally time to concede to the technique. It had lost enough of its energy so that when it hit this Captain it would not prove to be fatal. Inwards it crashed, escaping between her grips, and hit her in the chest. The technique exploded, as if Hikari’s body was the catalyst needed to cause the violent reaction.

The energy consumed the little girl and the explosion grew to its maximum size. A little object came flying out, or more like being thrown out. Hikari’s form shot backwards, she was no longer able to keep her footing, and smashed into the wall that held the spectators of this fight. Somehow her Zanpakutou had also been thrown and the blade and scabbard laid up against the cratered wall. A thin stream of blood escaped Hikari’s mouth as she looked down at her Zanpakutou. The damage wasn’t as bad as she had thought, but it still had ripped at her body, and the crash of the wall did nothing to help ease the pain. The attack was perfect, if she didn’t have the experience, or the defenses she had, this attack would have most likely killed her.

Slowly taking one step forward she straightened herself up, the scorch mark on her chest still steaming from the blast, and smiled at Rekkan. The attack was beautiful, and had forced Hikari to act at full strength, made her feel the desperation of maintaining her will to live. This is how she liked it; this is how her squad needed to fight. They needed to keep their eyes trained on their Lieutenant, who had just pushed their Captain to a place none of them had done before.

With a laugh, that shouldn’t have come out of a body the size of hers, Hikari picked up her Zanpakutou and scabbard and spoke to Rekkan. ”Kind of dangerous shooting that off, but hell this is great! It is wonderful! Keep it up Rekkan; don’t let your injuries slow you down, keep on gripping your sword, your scabbard with all of your might. Come at me again! Let me feel you Zanpakutou’s bite, and let it drink of my blood! Show your squad members what it means to fight with all of your spirit and might! Come now, and show me again what you can do!” Hikari’s smile broadened on her face, her eyes blazed with the lust for the fight. This was like a crazy madman talk, but to everyone inside these sacred walls of the 5th knew, this was another challenge to become stronger.

Crouching down, she extended both arms in front of her, slowly rotating each arm so that Hikari’s scabbard rested horizontally against her forearm, and her blade rested in front of the scabbard. This made a “+” sign stance, a stance of defense. She was going to make him work for the next cut, and was sure that Rekkan would probably be able to find some way to get to past this.

His right arm and shoulder's muscles stiffened. Rekkan sighed, knowing that they wouldn't be running at one hundred percent. The lieutenant listened to his captain's words and surpassed the pain rushing from those points of his body. It was just a limb, and he had more to fight with. With a quick flick of his wrist and fingers, the shinigami swapped wielding hands, gripping his Zanpakuto's hilt with the left. His right arm stood motionless, limp, as he let himself fall from the sky and towards the ground a few feet in front of Hikari. Ryoku had sealed himself, for the energy released prior to this moment was in such a way so tremendous and sacrificial that the lion needed rest from the first release. In the Inner World, the once bright sun lit the desert dimly. Rekkan had to fight all by himself for a while, before combining his strength with that of his Zanpakuto's spirit again. Maybe it wouldn't even be possible for the remainder of this battle, but the shinigami's resolve alone could be enough to keep him going through it all.

Hikari positioned herself in defensive stance that could bring Rekkan some trouble. Although he knew a way to go through the shield, there was still the speed factor. He stepped once, spiritual energy covering the bottom of his feet, and executed a flash step. The momentum gained from the initial thrust placed him close to his target, one step to the right of his captain. His left arm was pulled back and up in the instance of the flash step. Now, however, it was being swung forward and down, ready to clash with the center of Hikari's combined weapons. Upon collision, the speed of the shinigami's movement would prove to be crucial for the execution of his attack. For if it went as planned, the lieutenant of the fifth division would halt the blocking movement of his captain with Ryoku's blade as his right hand clenched tight, arm cocked back and then proceed with a thrust forward. The punch skewered the atmosphere with precision and velocity, aiming at the center of Hikari's face. And furthermore, the shinigami was using the weight of his own body forward, almost like if he was leaping close to his captain's shoulder in order to force her to dodge.

But that wouldn't be all. For there was a key ingredient to this all. He swung his Zanpakuto with the blunt edge forward...

It would be clear for his opponent what he attempted to do as the shinigami carried on with his attack. In the moment of the clash, his wielding hand gripped tighter on the hilt of the Zanpakuto. And went on to force itself forward, now cutting edge aiming to ravage the flesh of his captain. The defense was possibly breached, and the two consecutive attacks would possibly be enough to entertain Hikari and strike her with deep and dire injury. If not... He would base himself on the actions of his captain and proceed accordingly.

This situation felt so much like one Rekkan had with his first opponent as a shinigami. A true enemy, in a battle to the very last drop of blood and energy. A Hollow that forced the future lieutenant of the fifth to release Ryoku for the first time. Now, Rekkan was through releasing the proud lion king, and his whole body and soul needed to survive this alone.

Dropping down to the ground Rekkan resolved himself to fight more and enjoy this for what it was. This was a battle between the two strongest in the division. Hikari wouldn’t have it any other way. She was proud that this Lieutenant had given his all in this fight and knew that he would just get stronger if he kept on doing what he was currently doing. The time for this match was slowly coming to an end, Hikari could tell. Rekkan’s arm hung lifeless by his side and his breathing was labored from the pain. Normally Hikari would think it insane for a man to still fight at his fullest in that condition, but this was no regular man. He had learned to channel the pain and the disadvantages that injuries gave into power and strength. He was a proud member of the Fifth Division.

Coming in with a flash step he struck downwards to break the defense of Hikari’s. She knew that if he did that most likely a strike to the face would come after or a straight jab with the sword. In any case the speed of either attack would be easily dodged. The strike came as planned, normally Hikari would keep her defense in perfect stillness, but today something told her to give way just a bit. These instincts spoke to her while in battle and she had learned to listen to them. With Rekkan’s free hand he struck out to punch Hikari in the face. It was amazing that he could control his body enough to move an injured arm like that. The strike to the face was not strong due to his injured arm, but it did cause her to lose focus on Rekkan’s blade for just an instant.

The cut was coming in too deep, and Hikari would sustain too much damage if she had to take the strike. The fact that he had distracted her in such a way made her happier than she had ever been. She was going to show this man the difference between the two of them. Without even reciting the release phrase, Sasanoha changed shapes. The sword that once had no guard on it now had a guard. The sheath that was wooden became a polished metal looking substance. The sharp blade that was on her Zanpakutou turned into a solid wood. This was Hikari’s Shikai, Sasanoha Taketori.

Immediately a green shield shot up, separating Rekkan’s Zanpakutou from Hikari’s body. It was too close for Hikari’s comfort. A red line appeared on the chest of Hikari, right where the green oozing shield had forced the blade upwards. If she had acted a second later Rekkan’s blade would have been pushed forward through her skin, and into her body. Normally she wouldn’t mind this, but it was aimed at a part of her body that would prove to be fatal if she had not released her Zanpakutou.

Dead silence from everyone intruded Hikari’s ears. Most of them didn’t know what her Zanpakutou looked like when it was released, some supposed it would be some monstrosity, others thought that the Zanpakutou she wielded was always in its released state. None of them were prepared to see her Shikai. It looked like a ceremonial bokuden. It was a wooden training sword that had been dressed up as a Katana. The people in the crowd would have normally made fun of her because of the look of this Shikai, but the members of the Fifth Division knew that the blunt edge of this sword wouldn’t be something they would like to face. At least while it was wielded by their Captain. If that logic didn’t sink in, then the sheer power of the released Zanpakutou would.

Standing up from her crouched position, the barrier shattered into a fine mist. Hikari dropped her arms to her side. The sheath and sword seemed to ooze a greenish liquid from everywhere. This was the byproduct of Hikari’s Shikai. The millions of reiatsu filled spores multiplied and dropped from the many small dimples that laid over every single inch of Sasanoha. The spores could be used to create a shield, like all the observers had seen, or maybe even a binding technique. Maybe it could even launch a ranged attack at Hikari’s opponent. The onlookers could only guess.

”Good job Rekkan. Now you are going to need to act fast, and fight hard. This is Sasanoha Taketori my Shikai.” The compliment was greeted with a smile and a tip of the head. This Captain looked like an innocent little girl when she said that. There was no hidden agenda behind that sweet look. Hikari was truly happy that Rekkan had forced her hand. It just proved that he was a worthy foe and one she could enjoy fighting.
