This is the announcement for our new rules on changing races.
As an ever-growing and ever-evolving site, we sometimes find ourselves without rules for certain eventualities. Most recently, switching races has been that newest topic.
To all those who have been waiting for this update, I apologize for taking so long to get this out.
Do note that these rules have not been observed for some previous cases; as per our policy, these first individuals will not be penalized for rules that hadn't existed during their transition.
All those who have been waiting on this, please contact me if a decision still needs to be made.

Sometimes, Shinigami just isn't the way to go. Sometimes Humans are too free-form, Quincy too dull, Arrancar too isolated, Hollows too difficult.
Sometimes you want to step over the racial line and see if the grass is really greener on the other side.
THE GREAT DIVIDE
How does such a change come about? There's no one way we expect; suffice to say it can be different for every character. Contact a Storyteller to see what might be the right fit for you. Some have worn a disguise so long it becomes them; others have relied on their own strange powers and still others have found lost artifacts or powers that unlocked previously unseen options.
Whatever the reason or the method, you are perfectly capable of such a change. But like everything else, it comes with a price.
SHORT-TERM LOSS FOR LONG-TERM GAIN
The transition between races is not perfect; not only does the change take a monumental amount of energy but the new body and new powers take a great deal of getting used to. Like a carpenter who suddenly turns his attentions to dancing, a whole new set of skills must be learned.
The character loses all GP and starts over with what they earn from their new application. The previous total GP (minus any gained from previous applications) may be regained every month afterwards in the form of a request for as much as 25% of the previous total at once, symbolizing the slow recovery of a new individual relearning a lifetime of skills.
Everything previously requested and granted (such as skills or items) are subject to new request; you may not automatically begin with a Mastery in a skill, even if you had previously Mastered that skill before.
These rules are subject to individual circumstance; some characters may find these rules bent slightly to better fit their stories.
EVERYTHING PLANNED
Take note: this is not an option for those who find themselves unexpectedly at death's door and want a (mostly) painless way out. This change is a process that takes a great deal of time, a huge amount of involvement and an even larger amount of power expended; those facing an imminent demise would be better off inspecting this thread.
