~I'm creeping my way out so you can see me
I'm crawling my way around a thousand cities
You all stop and stare, but I don't need your pity
I'm living my life in this Hell~

The black moon that hung in the sky like a pendulum, swinging precariously back and forth as it drew in all light from the area. The countless streetlights and lamps flickered, causing an epileptic effect to echo throughout the city of Karakura City. Suddenly, the lights stopped flickering and simply disappeared, plunging the city into darkness. A cadence of wolf howls reverberated between the glass and steel walls of the megalopolis at near deafening levels. Vehicles, People, Animals.. All forms of movement had ceased in the darkness. It was as if the entire city had just frozen in time. People were stopped in mid-stride. Vehicles still had smoke wafting from the exhaust, although that too was paused. Slowly, the city began to disappear in an inky blackness, the black moon in the sky beginning to glow with a red ring around it.
â€God damn it, Vereor. Cut that out.†Urufu barked mentally, as the city seemed to melt. When the shadows had cleared, it was back to normal. â€Stop doing that.†The laugh of the vasto lorde following this comment echoed inside of his head. Fat chance. This is the most fun I’ve had in a millennia. Vereor snickered, the moon in the sky beginning to glow white once more, as it should. Now that the city was back to normal, Urufu could hunt in peace. â€If you want me to eat, you have to stop doing that.†Although it was annoying at times, Urufu actually didn’t mind that much. It was kind of amusing, and because he no longer slept, the random hallucinations took the place of his dreams, and that worked for him.
Picking himself off of the roof of the hospital where he had been sitting, he slid his feet along the cold linoleum and shuffled toward the edge. Staring down towards the ground with a smirk, his purple eyes flashed golden for a moment. He was roughly 5 stories from the ground. That was nothing. Waiting for an ambulance to begin driving out, the sound of tires crunching along the smooth pavement alerting him. Taking a deep breath, Urufu placed on clawed foot on the risen ledge of the hospital. Counting to three, he pushed all of his strength into that foot and kicked off the building. With the wind whipping through his blond hair and cloak, it made it impossible to discern anything by sound. The harsh howling of the wind destroyed anything even close to a sense of hearing. Similarly, sight was out as well.
He had to rely on his sense of smell. Unfortunately, that was out as well. He couldn’t breathe moving at this speed. Having no options left, Urufu grinned widely. This was what life was all about. The rush he got from doing things like this was unrivalled. The lights around him had transformed into full pillars from the movement, everything stretched and blurred. With his knees braced for impact, Urufu struck the roof of the ambulance with a thud. Allowing his body to crumple in on itself with only minimal support, he rolled along the top of the vehicle. Luckily, he had practice with this and knew how to perform such a deed without hurting himself. Rolling into a standing position, Urufu slid his feet along the top to balance himself delicately as the ambulance began to pick up speed. The swords attached to his hips, hidden under his cloak, swung from the movements. With a simple tap from each hand, they stopped.
Sadly, he couldn’t just carhop the entire city. Someone was bound to notice soon anyway. How the ambulance staff didn’t notice him drop in for a visit was beyond him. Sylvester… Vereor began, before Urufu cut him off. “No. My name is Urufu. Deal with it.†Shimmering, the air beside Urufu on the van seemed to displace itself as a white mask appeared in the air, very basic and plain. A shadowy body of the pitchest black grew under it. Six long tentacles exuded from the back. Vereor had hallucinated himself beside Urufu. No one else would be able to see him, as he was a figment of Urufu’s imagination, technically. Nonetheless, it was a lot easier to speak to someone if they were actually beside you.
Fine. Urufu then. Jump soon. A similar reiatsu pattern appeared denoting the opening of a garganta has signalled over 400 meters to the left. Head there now. Nodding to the image of Vereor beside him, Urufu did a flip from the ambulance and landed on a small car. Hopping straight from that to the ground, he began sprinting. Leg over leg with arms pistoning by his sides, Urufu shot down the street. Leaping over obstacles and avoiding people, he followed Vereor’s directions without questioning, the hallucination floating beside him. Sliding to a halt when he arrived in a construction park, a plume of red dirt rose around him, coating his body slightly. Shaking rapidly, he began to walk forward towards the garganta. Soon, someone would step out of it. Whoever it was, perhaps they would help him get to Hueco Mundo.
