1st Division Study (Open to all First Division)

“How does that feel?" The makeshift shinigami nurse had inquired as she bandaged his shoulder, her cheeks glowing red with blush at the sight of his half naked body. Judging by her over zealousness with the wrapping bandages and exceptionally kind attitude it was safe to conclude that this girl was a new recruit to the third division. Her crimson bangs glowed a florescent green tint as she applied another coat of healing kidou to the previously bandaged gash, her eyes were closed complimenting a reassuring smirk that he was in good hands. The newly appointed third seat was not one to dwell on any negatives and assured himself in combination with his own optimism that she would not make any mistakes. Although from time to time he had winced from the sharp stinging pain of his slowly closing wound, he did not blame anyone but himself for the discomfort, he had been careless.

Being in the first division was something that could not be taken lightly, virtually every day it was mandatory for training in all aspects. They had to be highly skilled and remain that way in all forms of combat, thus it is no surprise that the barracks of the first division are always chalk full of spars and exercises for the purpose of keeping the shinigami within its ranks “sharp”. Though the procedures there were no where near as intense or borderline barbaric as the rumored activities that go on in the 5th division, however the assigned training regimens were still a great deal for the ruby eyed shinigami. It had happened the other day, during the zanjutsu portion of the rotations, when he acquired the deep gashing blow to his left shoulder. Being the third seat officer it was more often than not that he drew attention on the assigned days he was required to join in and sometimes lead the divisions training.

The sparring groups that particular day happen to be uneven and so naturally his overly optimistic personality persuaded his rational thought that volunteering himself to take on a group of four gifted recruits was a good idea. Although for what it was worth he had held his own in good fashion, demonstrating why he was third in command behind the most powerful shinigami in the Gotei, though fending off four enemies at once with nothing but the common steel of a zanpaktou was no walk in the park. On more occasions than he would have liked to count he found himself using shunpo to whisk himself from close calls and cleverly executed combo attacks. Looking back upon the events, he realized that his misfortune could have totally been avoided, as oppose to meeting the four of them head long at once he could have used his superior speed to take them out individually.

As a result of overestimation in his abilities, partly from his excessive optimism he found himself locked up between an ingenious triangle of three zanpaktou, allowing his fourth opponent to slash his shoulder with ungodly force. The actual severity of the strike did not hit him until after he had done away with the four recruits and went to sheath his zanpaktou, the stinging pain it caused him just to stow away his katana rose a red flag in his mind, and at which point, he knew he would have to drudge on over to the third division. It was not that he felt any sort of way about that section of the court, it was just that he was so terrible when it came to navigating through the retarded system of mazes that connected the entire society. Who ever the genius was who decided that facility for navigation was a good idea needed to be readmitted to the shinigami academy to be reevaluated in his oppinion. “Thank you, its fine now. I really need to get going, sorry.” He replied as he took back his shoulder from beneath the nurses green glowing palms and swiftly whisked the top of his fur collar kimono back upon his shoulders.

He had almost forgotten that he agreed to meet up with the newly appointed fourth seat who's name was escaping him at the moment, at any rate he had to set a b-line for the first division's study if he cared at all about being punctual. Naturally the journey took longer than was necessary, with all of the myriads of directional options within the maze like walls of the seretei it was no wonder it took him twenty tries before finding his division again. “So much for being on time.” He uttered in thought, shaking his head as he began to mull over why in the world a maze was appropriate for inner court traveling again. As he opened the door to the study and proceeded in, the first thing that caught his garnet eyes was a tall shinigami with sculpted muscles garbed in additional black hued apparel aside from the customary kimono that seemed to consist of many rows of bandages. Even if the man did not stand up as he entered to grab his attention, it was more than likely that his vibrant lavender hued and red outlined eyes would have drawn in his curious gaze anyway “You the new fourth seat?" He announced, cutting through the kept silence in the study as he slowly approached the shinigami, his left brow raised to convey his uncertainty.

Reikon was quite surprised about his fellow 1st Division officer to say the least. He had never really met Taichi in person since he had just recently been transferred to the 4th Seat of the 1st Division which in his opinion was quite an honor. As Taichi asked his question Reikon had looked up at him with a smile... not that it could be seen since his mask covered that part of his face. Reikon sensed that he and this fellow would surely get along pretty well. He than stated in a quite polite tone, "Why yes that would be me whom you're looking for, My name is Ansatsu Reikon and i am the new 4th seated officer of your Division." He noticed that Taichi seemed a bit fatigued as if he had just got done performing a heavy activity recently and has yet to recover from it.

Reikon noticed that his left shoulder was a bit tense as if he was in pain. "So it seems you also had you're work cut out for you this evening as well i presume?", he asked in joking manner. "But don't worry, we won't be doing anything drastic so you can just relax, speaking of which i was just about to go on my break for the evening and wondered if you'd like to join me?" he asked as he smiled with a friendly expression on his face.
Reikon than packed his paperwork away and harnessed his Zanpakuto on his back. His paper work was pretty much done for the day which was a relief since he was kind of getting a little over worked. Now that Taichi arrived he could finally head out and close up the study.

He was actually glad that he would have the chance to meet a new face and get to better know him. The first few weeks of being in the 1st Division were kind of rough for Reikon since he really didn't know any of them and he was never really the talkative type who made tons of friends, but when he did end up socializing he made friends pretty easily. He was always good at talking and holding a good conversation. He enjoyed making others laugh and cheer up when they were down, maybe it had to do with his brotherly instincts from his past life on Earth.

"Well i hope you like tea Yatsumoya- san, I made a special homemade brew especially for our get together." he said as he held up an odd metallic capsule-like container. "I didn't know what kind to brew up so i chose my best, it's Gyokuro Jade Dew Green Tea and it has a wonderful taste as well as aroma.", he said proudly as he packed it away into his pack. "Well i suggest we head out, any place in particular that you'd like to go?", asked Reikon politely. "If not we can just take my usual route, i assure you if your a man of good taste in scenery you won't be disappointed." laughed Reikon cheerfully while rubbing the back of his head. He than moved the hair from out of his line of vision, revealing a scar that vertically crossed over his right eye. He than quickly straightened the study before he would head out on his break.

The hair in his ears perked up with intrigue as he halted his advancement toward the dark and mysterious looking shinigami upon his reply. He stood perplexed for a moment, looking the proclaimed fourth seat of his division up and down with curiosity. Perhaps he was wrong for expecting such a rough looking shinigami to have such a refined pattern of speech. Although judging others based on their appearance was not something he was in the habit of doing, it was simply the reservations he had in mind for the shinigami that threw him off. The tall dark bandaged man, with such a rough looking appearance, seemed like he would be most suited for the fifth division, well, he had the intimidation factor going for him anyway. His combat style could not be vouched for but he seemed built for physical altercation, although he could be wrong.

Alas his shallow analysis would have to come to an end if he wanted to stave away an awkward silence, he had been addressed and it was only proper to respond in kind. More specifically, this fourth seat, Reikon, had already begun a conversation without the aid of a second tongue. He had already begun asking questions and cracking jokes, it was amazing really, as the amber eyed third seat did not even conceive such a thing possible prior to his witnessing of it. However, in spite of all this he was able to discern a friendly and honest demeanor, the likes of which driving back any condemning thoughts that were brewing beneath his mid-cropped cluster of brown short spikey hair. Uncertain where he should jump in with the initially singular conversation , he found it best to respond in order to each of the things Reikon had asked and stated. This way he could be sure he didn't neglect to acknowledge anything that was spoken.

“Ah, I see, well your quite the specimen Reikon, but as you probably already have figured out , my names Yatsumoya Taichi, but you can just call me Taichi. No need for formalities with me outside the presence of other authoritative figures.” He began casually, doing a good job at keeping his uncertainties at bay and his analytical mind at rest. Recalling the facetious remark regarding his work being “cut out for him”, he presumed the stiff hankering in his left shoulder was more apparent than he would have liked. “Indeed, you will be no stranger to fresh wounds if you hang around in the first division, our training regimen is a lot more sophisticated than you would imagine.” He added with a grin as he placed his right hand upon his left and wound his unorthodox arm in a slow circular motion to work out the kinks that were left over from its medical treatment. Their was a flood of relief that had fallen upon his face as he ceased his soothing shoulder therapy upon hearing they would not be involving themselves in anything strenuous.

It was seldom that any officer, at least in the first division, got the opportunity to indulge in anything non-strenuous, perhaps meeting this fourth seat would turn out to be a good call after all. “As if I could decline an excuse to lounge around, especially on someone else s break time.” He replied aloud in a tone of seriousness, although the subject matter was quite funny in its own respect. As Reikon had withdrawn from their immobile conversation to straighten up the study area behind him, he took a moment to observe his soul slayer. It was rather peculiar, it wasn't really shaped like a traditional katana, but more like a scimitar of sorts. With its accompaniment of a sharp edged dragon encrusted guard and the eery black chain that fell from the handles end, it seemed as though perhaps his zanpaktou was stolen from some sort of medieval dungeon.

When the rather young first division officer could not determine much about a fellow shinigami, he often turned to their zanpaktou, a reflection of their very soul to draw any personal conclusions. So far what he gathered at his brief gaze upon the back mounted blade was that Reikon was perhaps as strong as a dragon, as dangerous as its fire, and perhaps as greedy in some form or another. “If he does have an ideal of greed, just what is it that he is trying accumulate in excess? Power perhaps?” The aspect of his high analytical intelligence churning its cognitive wheels, feeding into the trust issues he has lingering in the back of his personality. “I'm afraid I will have to pass on the tea, hot liquids make me a bit light headed.” He lied with a bold face, his suspicions rising, feeding off of prior observations.

He had a hard time trusting others, especially his comrades, the reason for this was even unknown to him, but to accept a perhaps potentially impure blend of tea was out of the question, especially from someone he had not even made his mind up about. Alas he could not simply ignore his gut feelings, after all he was indebted to them, they had saved his life on countless occasions against hollows and had yet to lead him astray. Though this wasn't to say that this gift of unnatural insight was always correct, but the young third seat just had to relegate his attention to it no matter what. “No, no place in particular, you go on and lead the way.” He replied with a cheap smile, not passing up the chance to keep this Reikon fellow in front of him for further observation. In the back of his mind he felt this was silly and unnecessary but he did not have the power to correct this flaw, it was apart of his imperfection, an imperfection that emphasized survival even in the most absurd of times, like now. Keeping his hand in close proximity to his purple and gold diamond laced katana, he awaited for his division mate to lead him into whatever this serene unknown was that he assured him he would like.

Reikon than lead the way out the 1st Division study room and quickly shut the door behind him. He was quite surprised on how polite and nice his fellow 1st Division peer was, although he could sense that there was a bit of unease in his tone as he spoke. And Reikon was actually quite good at reading people's facial expressions as well, his face put it plain and simple that he was full of interesting questions. As he set of with his fellow comrade; he couldn't help but think to himself,"I guess he must be questioning why a guy such as myself was transferred to 1st Division, I guess it must be my appearance... it usually does draw question after all."

He was after all a mysterious looking kinda guy and it was quite hard to read his surface, expecting to figure him out easily. Thus the reason why it was quite hard on the decision on where he should be placed amongst the Divisions. The 1st Division was chosen because of how difficult it was to read Reikon, he was like strange looking book that drew lots of questions when sited. He looked like he could belong in the 5th Division due to his large stature and built frame, this was a good sign of how strong he was on the outside... but it was also his inner strength as well. He had a very strong will and was very caring of others, he would easily sacrifice himself in order to save the lives of others. You could say that Reikon was the Selfless type of guy, he was always offering rather than taking. He didn't take much since in the back of his mind he felt as if he didn't need much to be happy, he was after all a simple minded person when it came to living.

Now to address Reikon's overall style, it was obvious to look like a mix between 5th and 2nd Division. He had that mysterious look that looked sculpted rough around the edges. Yes it was true that he did have the overall style like those two but he was more well rounded and had a more polite temperament thus the reason why he was placed among the 1st Division. He was also very intelligent as well and enjoyed thinking out things as well as learning or creating new things. He wouldn't be surprised if that topic of discussion would be brought up during this outing with his fellow 1st Division.

As they walked through the labyrinth-like streets of Seireitei he thought up some decent topics of discussion that wouldn't be too bad for getting to better know Taichi. Perhaps if they got to better know one another, Taichi could loosen up a bit and better understand Reikon as a man and fellow Shinigami. After all Reikon enjoyed bonding with people and developing a good friendship with people whom he interacted with. He actually developed a good relationship with his Zanpakuto, he treated his sword's spirit like she were one of his closest friends. What would the world be without friends? It's quite obvious actually, the world would be nothing but war and loneliness.

That's one reason why Reikon was driven so hard to work his way up in the ranks, so that he may be able to spread his ideas and way of thinking among his fellow peers. He wouldn't treat his peers like underlings, but more like brothers and sisters on whom should learn to protect one another.... If we were to learn that, Soul Society would surely become a stronger force than it were already. Maybe the casualties lost among Soul Society would slim down greatly and we could learn from each others mistakes to better grow on the outside as well as inside.

As this thought crossed his mind once again, they had already arrived at the open streets of Rukongai. He enjoyed coming here since the people here reminded him a little of himself. Even thought most of these people weren't at all related by blood they still held one another like a family. He could see the small children playing amongst themselves, while the elderly sat outside conversing with one another over some tea. The woman were usually cleaning or hanging out clothes to dry in the warm breeze while the men were off working around. It was quite nice to see the smiles on the faces of these happy children. One child stood out in particular to Reikon as he began to approach the small girl.

He knelt down a bit to get to her level as he reached into his pocket and pulled a hand crafted horse from his pockets. It was crafted from a white cherry wood, giving it a smooth and calm white color as well as texture to its surface. The eyes of the horse were encrusted with small pieces of jade to add more of a realistic view to its appearance. "Here you go Hana, a handcrafted Horse figure just for you as i promised.", he smiled as he handed her the small figurine. The girl's face lit up with complete joy as he handed her the small figure. "Thank you so much mister Ansatus, It looks so pretty and real too!", said the girl happily as she hugged Reikon. "Ha ha, its really nothing Hana... i did promise that i'd make you one afterall.", he replied as he returned with a hug. He than stood up while looking down at the young girl and smiled. "Now you behave yourself okay, stay out of trouble... and take care of your new horse but have fun.", he said as he began to take his leave. "Oh I will mister, thank you again!", said the girl while waving goodbye to her Shinigami friend.

Reikon continued his walk through Rukongai with Taichi following behind. He than turned his head towards Taichi and replied, "Sorry about that, that's just a young girl that i happend to have made a promise to when i saved her from a Hollow on Earth." "She was afraid of what Soul Society would be like since she had no family, so i made her a promise to cheer her up." he said smiling back at Taichi. They were nearly to the spot where Reikon enjoyed to spend most of his free time. The sun was still bright in the sky even though it was near the evening of the day. Reikon could see the large Cherry Blossom tree from the distance and its beautiful reflection on the lake it sat beside. It was like the tree knew that it was beautiful and stared at itself in the mirror reflection on the lake's surface.

"Well we're here finally, i apologize if the trip seems long after all Seireitei is like a huge maze.", said Reikon in a joking manner while laughing a bit.
"Anyways, i hope you like this spot as much as i do... I usually come here to relax and enjoy my time off since its quite peaceful in this area.", said as he sat down along the large tree. He than pulled out his metallic capsule that contained the tea he had brewed, pouring himself some of the hot tea into a small cup. He than slipped his mask down below his chin and began to smell the wonderful aroma that warmed his soul before he than sipped it. He than looked over at Taichi and replied, "Please sit down, sit down and relax a bit... after all it's a beautiful day and i'm sure it would ease the pain in your left shoulder."

He smiled with a comforting facial expression as he than said, "I noticed you wincing a bit back in the study when you first came in, I'm sure the tea would help ease the pain since this kind has that neat affect to it... but if you'd rather not have any i'll understand and respect your choice." He than sipped his tea again, after which he unharnessed his Zanpakuto. "It's good to have a new form of company once in a while, I'm usually spending most of my time out here meditating and speaking with my Zanpakuto.", Reikon said as he placed it beside him resting it against the tree.
He loved his blade very much and showed it by how well he took care of his Zanpakuto, he treated it as if it were alive and right beside him like a true companion hand in hand.

Without another moments delay Reikon had set forth, usurping the lead to their unknown destination, the naturally suspicious third seat trailing behind him. Of course he could not help but keep his distance a bit when following him, the range of only few feet could be easily gained with an instance of shunpo. Although his division mate was made out to be a nice and gentle fellow despite his rough and mysterious appearance, the amber eyed shinigami just could not give him the benefit of the doubt, even for a moment. Though as strange as he found his own behavior, the influence of his suspicious uncertainty was nothing new, he had been on this roller coaster ride many a times before with previous comrades. In the end however, he ended up gaining trust for them in one way or another not before too long.

“Yes, I'm sure of it, I will find reason to trust Reikon in due time.” He assured himself in thought, the driving force behind his optimism as sure fire to him as a fully proven fact. He was still curious though, despite his self assurance, at the moment what raced through his mind the most was when and how it would happen. In what scenario would he find a new respect for his new division mate? It was hard not to wonder as he could not fathom the depths it would take to bring him to such a sensitive point. Then again he never could, with the entirety of his past acquaintances, fathom when their relationships would be worthy of those leaps and bounds out of the common place and into a sort of genuine friendship. “Erm, y-your suffocating me, Taichi-kun.” His brows scrunched inward with uncertain realization, he had heard a vaguely familiar voice yet there was no one else around besides Reikon who definitely had a lot more base in his tonality.

“T-Taichi...” There it was again, but what in the world was ringing through his head, it was almost as if his very soul speaking from inside of him. “Wait, Kuri-, is that you?” He inquired in thought, hoping that it was she that was trying to speak to him as oppose to him loosing his mind. “Mhm!” Upon her response he could feel the chill of her icy aura along with the mixture of her warm innocence, there was no mistaking it then, It was his one winged zankaptou spirit. It took him a while to verify this mainly because she hardly ever decided to initiate conversation on her own accord, she had too much of a childish personality. All she ever did was frolic around in the wintry inner world in immature glee, not thinking twice about the things going on her wielders end, unless of course she was summoned and released from her icy paradise.

“Did you say I was suffocating you? Is my hand to close to the hilt or something?” He inquired with a tone of desperate curiosity, looking to lessen her discomfort in any way. Though they did not speak as often as they should, he treated Kuri- like a princess and sought to accommodate her in anyway. Although, in terms of a shinigami and their own zanpaktou spirit, the concept was backwards in their situation. She was the blade and he was the wielder, it was the blade who needed to be the protective one, no the other way around right? But their relationship was different to a lot of others of the same nature, he treated his zanpaktou spirit like more than just an extension of himself, they were family. Kuri- in many respects was like his little sister, and in all actuality, she was the only true person he could be in company of without falling victim to his natural mistrust or suspicion.

“No silly, your vibe, its suffocating me.” His vibe? Whatever did she mean by that? “I don't understand.” He replied stiffly, certain that he done nothing wrong on his end. “Your being too tense and worrisome, relax and be positive like you always are, your ruining my play time.” She replied gingerly before falling silent for who knows how long before she found the initiative to stop playing and speak with him again. At any rate, she had point, he was being overly intense on his passive mistrust towards Reikon. Although it was not anything personal, perhaps it was his appearance that caused him the greatest alarm. He needed to lighten up a great deal, his aura must be profoundly dense if it got Kuri- to stop from frolicking around in winter mist just to speak to him. Taking a deep breath, he decided to try and ease back on his concerns and stick to the optimistic side of his personality.

“Everything will be fine, besides, they dont just let any o'l body in the first division. I am sure he is as upstanding an individual as anyone else in the division.” He assured himself in thought again, for the second time. Before he had realized it they had navigated their way out of the maze of the Seretei and into the districts of Rukonagi. The architectural layout of the slums brought back memories of his days as a plus before achieving shinigamiship, though those days were brief in number, the memory was still nostalgic none the less. He could not help but smile to himself at the kind gesture of Reikon, he had given a toy a small girl, apparently a promise that transcended between worlds. He found it fascinating how she wasn't the least bit afraid of the tall, darkly garbed fourth seat. This made him figure he had no reason to be apprehensive if a mere plus child could approach with out consequence. Even though the factor of naivety presented itself to him, he over looked it and focused on the good intention.

“No, the trip wasn't too bad, besides I had some unexpected “thoughts” that kept my patience at bay.” He replied with a grin, referencing his minor chat with Koorihasuna (Calls her Kuri for short)“ And I know, those mazes are terrible, I can hardly ever get to where I'm trying to go on the first try.” He added in response to Reikons anecdote, except he was not joking, it was one of those things that irked him the wrong way. He set a mesmerizing gaze over the beautiful atmosphere in which he had stumbled upon, the clear glistening body of water along side the tree of blossoms was the essence of peace itself. After giving a relaxed nod, he took up Reikons offer and sat himself down with his feet crossed Indian style, his brow raising at the sound of the fourth seats voice once again. “ No need to worry about my shoulder, I'm used to wounds like this, and besides I like to relish the pain so I don't go soft ya'know?” He responded after giving a feint smile regarding Reikons concern while politely passing on his tea for the second time.

Although he had eased up on his natural suspicion, he was still in no way won over by the kind charms of his comrade, however there was at least some of hope of a friendship in the future. “I agree, new company is always stimulating.” He added, shooting a glance down at his zanpaktou, hoping Kuri- wasn't to busy playing to catch his implication. As he sat with his arms and legs folded, he gazed out at the still waters, focusing heavily on the reflection of the pink flourishing tree behind him. More importantly, its calm got him to thinking, there were questions he had for Reikon, things he could not shake from his curiosity. “So, what made you choose the first division anyway? Was it perhaps the allure of being directly under the Captain Commander himself or something different? He inquired with a serious tone, though he vowed to himself to ease up on his suspicion, he found himself unable to stop from trying to gather some information for the sake of his own personal analysis.

Jun’s hand wrote diligently signing his name on paper after paper. His movements were so quick and so furious that his hand began to tremble from the exertion being placed upon it. A millennia where the only threat to his hand was losing it in a fight to his enemy and now its greatest threat was carpal tunnel syndrome. Fate certainly had a wicked sense of humor, too bad it was aimed at the Captain Commander. Thankfully though, reprieve finally came for the shinigami. Jun wrote his signature and placed the last paper in the box designated completed. As he did he shouted at the top of his lungs, “Yosh!!!!” Jun smiled triumphantly to himself as he looked over the stack of papers that were nearly as tall as he. Since becoming Captain Commander this was his life now, an endless tirade of papers needing to be signed and formal meetings with both Central 46 and his captains. Jun cherished his new position in Soul Society, but it did not mean that on rare occasions he missed the thrill of hunting a particularly nasty hollow or saving an innocent plus’s life. However, he understood that what he was doing was much more important and that it couldn’t be disregarded. Thankfully, he was done for the day so there was nothing to disregard anymore.

Jun smiled wickedly in the direction of the double doors at the opposite side of the room, his retainers waiting patiently for him to finish for the day so that they could escort him home. Perhaps he should take a little walk before heading home for the night, without his bodyguards. Jun walked briskly to the edge of the balcony, looking over all of Soul Society. With a quick motion he popped a lollipop in his mouth and threw on his headphones. Music blared to life a second later, the first song being a techno beat, Smack My Bitch Up. However, he quickly changed the tune to, It’s Only Me, by Barenaked Ladies. “BNL is the shit,” he muttered to himself before taking off with shunpo running atop the wall surfaces before leaping from building to building within the Rukongai. The Captain Commander moved with frightening speed his body merely a blur. No one noticed him as he raced to his destination, not even other shinigami on position on the very same walls he ran atop of. His ability to manipulate sound also deafened every footfall making him as silent as any of the ninja who were stationed in the 2nd Division. A few moments later and he found himself at a cherry blossom tree. It was one of the most beautiful places in all of Soul Society and having been around so long Jun knew every notable spot in Soul Society.

He sat down and rested his back against the tree on the side of the tree that was harder to notice from any particular direction. He then let the music continue to beat against his body as he simply sat there and took everything in. Everything was simply so stunning. All this, the cherry blossom tree, the people milling about back in the Rukongai, the beauty of all of Soul Society, it was what he fought for every day. His desire to be Captain Commander was fueled by his home’s elegance like a muse providing inspiration to his life every day. The continuing of that beauty, no, the betterment of that beauty that was what kept him sane day after day. Doing paperwork for the next millennia was not an existence most would wish on their greatest enemies, but for Jun it was all worth it as long as every day was better than the last for the citizens and shinigami of Soul Society. He would give his life up a thousand times over to ensure that this era would continue.

Despite the blaring music his powerful senses easily picked up the two shinigami heading in his direction. Since he highly doubted anyone had noticed his escape or followed him it must have meant that these people were also fond of the cherry blossom tree. It wasn’t until they were almost upon him that he figured out that they were part of his division. Despite his duties and responsibilities Jun made sure to memorize the name and face of every individual in his division as well as their reaitsu signature. He turned down his music to ensure it wouldn’t give him away and waited for them to arrive. He let the two converse for a little bit, but decided that he could not remain silent when he was officially brought into the conversation, this was turning into eavesdropping. Instead Jun stretched his leg to scratch behind his ear with his feet, effectively giving up his position. He then turned to look around the tree at them and spoke, “Hello you two. Fancy meeting you both here. Fine night to enjoy the cherry blossoms is it not?” Jun then grinned at them with his lollipop still in his mouth waiting to see their reactions at his presence.

The wind carried a very warm breeze with it and the smell of the cherry blossoms were quite exhilarating this fine day. The birds were chirping, singing their ever so beautiful songs before heading in for the night. The sun was beginning to make its daily descend on the horizon creating an beautiful collage of colors. It was as if a great artist had purposely spilled a wide variety of warm colored paints onto the canvas of the lake's surface.

Taichi had finally taken a seating spot beside Reikon against the Sakura Tree. Reikon could sense that his fellow 1 Division peer had finally began to relax a bit. He was a bit distressed that he always seemed to give off a bad presence to others just by his rough appearance. Deep down inside Reikon was a good person and only wanted what was best for people, but he couldn't seem to shake the outer appearance that made others weary of him at times. Sure it could be a good thing when it came to his enemy since they wouldn't be able to read him as easily.

When it came to his fellow peers and making friends, he always seemed to have a hard time with making a good first impression on others. Unless he could hold a decent conversation to clear the ripple in the water and make things a little more clearer for others to understand better of who he was before judging him. That's just another reason why he usually kept to himself most of the time. He felt that no one really understood him since they were too clouded by his visual appearance. The only person that he knew that understood him and knew him for who he truly was was Kurenai, the spirit of his Zanpakuto. Kurenai Ketsueki-Rein was her full name but he usually called her by her first name for short. He had grown to be very close with her over the time he has spent bonding with her. She loved Reikon very much and always wanted him to be happy because if he was happy she was happy.

Reikon's inner world was another story... it was very sad and depressing since deep down that's how Reikon felt most of the time. He was very good at hiding his true feelings and keeping a smile on his face even at his hardest times. His inner world was a very cold and dark place, a dark version of heaven to be exact that has a blood moon in it's sky. When ever he was sad it would rain blood and storms would occur at times when he was angry. It was said that the blood that rained from the sky was the all the blood that Kurenai had spilled from slaying her enemies during her days as an Arch Angel. When he is happy his Inner World became a bright and warm place and begins to snow purple cherry blossoms, symbolizing warmth, beauty, and happiness.

Kurenai Ketsueki-Rein (Crimson Blood Rain) is a tall and slender woman with a large bust. She stands about 6 feet tall and her hair goes down to her knees. She has elven like ears and fox-like canines with whisker like markings on each cheek. Her hair is platinum silver with one purple and red streak through running down it. She wears ninja-like netted attire with a torn looking cape that slightly drapes over her shoulder. She also has Black Angelic wings which symbolize that she is a Fallen Angel. She occasionally wears a ninja mask that covers her mouth. Her style in dress is much like how Reikon himself dresses, after all they are the same.

Reikon began to sip his to once more as Taichi had than asked his question; a question that he was waiting to be asked. He than looked up at the sky as if in deep thought and replied calmly, "Well it's quite simple actually, I'm more of a well rounded type of guy and have been told that I keep my tongue to a polite manner even in the harshest times as if in respect to life itself." He than smiled as he sighed a sigh of relief; almost as if lifting a heavy burden off of his chest. "You see I've never really liked violence and I was placed here because of my skill; I am honored to be in the 1st Division and so close to the Captain Commander since it reminds me of my duty as a Shinigami and how i need to always keep my standards up in order to protect the lives of others.", he replied.

"What about yourself, might i ask what made you want to join the 1st Division?", asked Reikon politely. He than lifted his cup of tea for another sip, when all of a sudden a voice had appeared almost out of nowhere. The voice had come from behind where they were sitting. It was funny Reikon didn't sense anyone else amongst them. He than turned his head to see whom it was that was speaking to the two of them when he noticed it was none other than the Captain Commander Jun Aizawa.
Surprised by both the presence and ridiculous posture catching him off guard his jaw had dropped to the floor. He immediately bowed before the Captain Commander in absolute respect. "I'm so sorry Commander Aizawa, I didn't know you were there.... how rude of me, i didn't know that you enjoyed coming here also.", he uttered in apology. "I'm doing very well thank you, and yourself?", he quickly replied.

“That’s a good answer.” He uttered to himself in thought with a tone of expectancy. A well spoken answer with a background of personal philosophy was everything as he had expected from Reikon based on the analysis he was able to gather from their short meeting together. It was simple really, all he had to do was take his shallow expectations and derive the opposite from them and he landed in the same ball park as the results. Even still however, he found himself impressed more so than he would have liked to admit. It was very seldom that he stumbled upon a shinigami who took their duties with a general sense of honor, especially those in the first division. More often than not, most other soul reapers were obsessed with advancing their soul slayers into their releases that they lost sight of the real reason they even have a zanpaktou in the first place.

He could remember from various other suspicion motivated one on one chats with acquaintance shinigami over the years, the same cliche of “shikai this” and “bankai that.” Of course one could not take away from the allure of a zanpaktou's release. He could remember when he first received his soul slayer, sitting awake at night and contemplating what the evolution of his soul would look like in its released states. It was natural, but the naïve eagerness and ambition had to wear off at some point. A release was nothing more than the icing on the cake as far as he was concerned, the real bread and butter was the act of doing justice on the behalf of spiritual balances. Though personally, aside from his natural gravitation to the enticing mysteriousness of shikai and bankai, what impressed him most about his abilities as a shinigami was the ability to perform soul burials.

To the few others whom he had spoken this interest to, he was made out to be silly when he depicted the serene transcendence from life to after life in the face of epic zanpaktou transformations. In his opinion, despite how intriguing releases were, nothing came close to the honor of not only having the ability but also the power to perform the emancipation of ones soul. No beauty, natural or artificial, could compete with the outstanding purity of the soul burial or even the just capabilities of zanpaktou itself. Its characteristic of purity from freeing souls to vanquishing tainted ones is extraordinary for lack of a better word. Perhaps amongst all of the burdens and pleasures that came with his duties, what really keeps him going is the power to cleanse and make pure things around him, and in turn that desire translates into his will for peace and the determination he has to fight for it. Digressing back to the conversation at hand, his mind began replay the words of his social counterpart, his analytical subconscious catching a contradiction in Reikons words.

The contradiction was not based upon anything he found false, but it was more a visual contrast that struck him with an odd taste.“ He doesn't like violence? Then whats with all of the scars and bandages I wonder?” He inquired to himself, fighting the urge not to scratch his head in a flame of confusion. At any rate he found it best to let it go, it would surely be unnecessary to stop in the meat of their conversation to point out something that really wasn't all too important. If anything he could always rely on his conclusion that perhaps Reikon had to always fight against his will for whatever reason, that seemed to be the most likely of explanations, but best of all that conclusion was good enough for him for the moment. “What made me want to join the 1st Divisi-...” The garnet eyed third seat was cut off, unable to finish his statement as Reikon had suddenly jumped to his feet. In that same instance his rudimentary sense of reiatsu perception had picked up on a trace of spiritual energy that was literally hover over them in a sense. Instinctively he shunpo'd up to his feet and pressed his left thumb underneath the hilt of his zanpaktou, etching it forward slightly, flashing a little tease of its spiritually crafted steel.

However his cause for alarm was immediately dampened as he noticed Reikon bowing before the presence, and surely he did not seem like the type to up and bow vulnerably in front of a potential enemy, and thus it was obvious a sort of superior was in their midsts. Out of the corner of his eye he found none other than their Captain and Commander of the entire soul socitey, Jun Aizawa. In a flash of embarrassment he quickly fumbled his hands away from his zanpaktou and proceeded to drop his torso in a customary bow. This was not because of his initial instinct for defense, but rather his uncertainty of how to react seeing the strongest shinigami of the present time with his foot cocked up to his head while entertaining lollipop between his chomps. Looks like the day would prove to be much more of an adventure than he had originally presumed.

If Jun wasn’t trying to hold on to some semblance of his position he might have laughed aloud at his two subordinates’ reactions. How quickly they had fumbled to show their respect. Had Jun been on duty he would have appreciated their efforts and probably given them some sort of solemn nod of approval for their efforts. However, Jun was not on the clock at the moment and he had snuck out of his office so he wouldn’t have to deal with subordinates pandering around him like some sort of dog waiting on their master’s orders. The last thing he wanted while on his night off was to deal with two division subordinates who would do the same with Jun. The Captain Commander’s only hope would be to get to know the two better and hopefully disarm the tension that had built since noticing his presence. It would be tricky because he didn’t want them to treat him so casually the next day when things went back to being formal, but seeing as how they were his own division Jun felt it was worth the attempt. So it looked like the two shinigami would get a very rare and special treat. They would be some of the very few people who would get to meet the real Jun Aizawa, when the wellbeing of Soul Society wasn’t sitting so heavily on his shoulders.

Jun smiled at them, his lips curling around the lollipop that pushed against his right cheek. He scooted forward, his butt dragging against the ground quiet ridiculously, before taking a crossed legged sitting position next to them both. The shinigami then said, “Sit, sit. Save your bows for tomorrow when each of us isn’t on their time off. I am just like you guys tonight. I have finished my duties for the day and came out to the cherry blossom tree to enjoy its beauty and relax. The last thing I want is for you guys to be all rigid and ruin your night off because you have to worry about what I think. So for tonight treat me as if I was just another seated individual in our division. I promise that if you cross the line with me I will make sure to let it go tonight… Probably.” Jun let out a long laugh at his little joke before reaching into his haori. Jun’s hand seemed to fumble within the folds of his clothes for a long while before he finally pulled out a rather large bag of candy. One had to wonder just how the hell he fit the entire thing in his outfit without it being totally noticeable.

Jun continued to enjoy his lollipop, but opened up the bag and let it sit before everyone. He then gestured to it and said, “Please enjoy my sweets. It’s my personal stash so try not to go telling everybody about afterwards. If my personal retainers knew about it they would try taking it away. They say that candy isn’t part of a full balanced diet… Pshhh. Everyone knows that a candy a day keeps the doctor away.” Jun continued to lick his lollipop then as he sat back letting his fellow subordinates freely decide if they actually wanted any candy or not. With his body relaxed once more he continued with the conversation, “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop before. You both just had gotten well into your conversation before I had a chance to reveal myself. However, as your Captain I do have to admit I am a little curious on the personal reasons that brought you to Division 1. Do not worry; there are no wrong answers here. If you say the wrong thing I am not about to have you transferred. I am just curious. I found Reikon’s answer to be very insightful. The better I know the people in my division the better I can utilize you all and connect with you. As the Commander of all the divisions I have a lot of people under me, but I try not to forget the very division I personally reside over. I may be Commander to the rest of the divisions, but within my own division I would like to think that my subordinates consider me a captain first and a Commander second. Otherwise what would be the point of me overseeing a division at all?” Although completely serious on that point of fact Jun still continued to give a disarming smile and waiting patiently for the two shinigami to say something, anything. He had come out to the tree to be alone, but instead had run into two of his own division members. Instead of treating his night as a bust he was going to enjoy the company of his fellow division members just as any other shinigami in a division would.

As Reikon was bowing he had noticed that the Captain Commander was being quite casual today so he had loosened up a bit himself. The Captain had mentioned that he was off shift now and wanted to relax and expected his fellow 1st Division members to do the same. Hearing this Reikon calmly found his place beside the Captain as he sat down once again. The Captain had than pulled an enormous bag of candy out of his uniform and had sat it down on the ground in front of the now small group and offered his officers to help themselves. Being polite he reached in and pulled out a decent sized lollipop himself. Looking at the flavor he noticed it was one of his favorites, blue-raspberry. Unwrapping it he slipped it into his mouth and could remember his days as a kid as he tasted the sweet flavor of the candy.

Feeling a bit parched he reached into his pack and retrieved his metallic thermos of tea, unscrewing the lid he poured himself a cup of the delicious brew. He than looked over at the Captain and asked, "Would you like some Captain Commander Jun, It's Gyokuro Jade Dew Green Tea... I brewed it myself?" He than reached into his pack and recovered another cup in case he would like some. Reikon than looked up at the sky, seeing the horizon light up with such beautiful colors was quite soothing to the soul. He than thought about the question's that the Captain had asked both Taichi and himself about why they chose to be in 1st Division.

"Well to add to my answer from before and answering your question Captain, I also chose 1st Division because i thought it would better prepare me for one day becoming a captain myself... I figured if i was able to shadow the Captain Commander himself, i might learn the key traits as to what it takes to be a superb and strong Captain.", he added before continuing. "I would hope to one day be a Captain myself, maybe of the 6th Division... so i can put my skills and talents as a leader to good use as well as teach others how to better themselves and their skills.", said Reikon as he smiled proudly looking up at the sky.

He than looked down as he than picked up his Zanpakuto and held it out. "I also plan on showing others that their Zanpakuto's are not only weapons used for fighting and protecting, they are also or closest allies as well as friends... If we don't treat our Zanpakuto with love and care as well as respect them, how can we expect them to lend their hand out to his with care and respect.", he said as he held his Zanpakuto closer to him. "I feel as if this blade knows me better than anyone will ever know me, probably even better than i know myself.", he said as he rested it beside him once more.

He than lifted his cup as he shifted the lollipop in his mouth to the left, lifting the tea to his lips he than sipped it as he smelled its warm aroma. He than looked over at his Captain and fellow squad mate and asked, "What about the two of you, may i ask what your views are as well?" He than rested his cup on his lap as he shifted his legs into a more comfortable position. When he was more comfortable he picked up his cup of tea once more and sipped once more again.

It took no more than an unconventional scooting sound for the young third seat to abandon his etiquette and poke his eyes upward. His thoughts were filled with question marks as his expression conveyed the confusion tumbling about his conscious like a perpetual force of circular motion. It was one thing for him to get past the Commanders leg propped above his head, but seeing him scoot across the lawn on his glutes was an image that he would never be able to eradicate from his mind. How difficult it would be from this point on, to stand in Aizawa's presence without cracking a grin much less fighting back an episode of laughter. How troublesome it would be indeed, especially in non casual scenarios, for him to take his Captain Commander seriously.“ I suppose the good part about this is I don't have to worry about not trusting him, this comedy replaces my serial nature of unjustified suspicions towards him.” He chuckled in thought as his cheeks began to turn red as he bit his bottom lip, fighting off a swell of laughter while succumbing to the irresistible urge of a grin.

Before long he found himself standing straight up again, any trace of his formal manners were now gone and shoved toward the back of his mind. He had heard Aizawa utter something about being casual or whatever after he had urged them to sit down (which he did) but most of it was a blur. By this point in time he was guilty of sparsely timed cackles of muffled tonality. Although the visual was hysterical to him, he really needed to get himself together for the sake of this added dynamic to their new conversation. As he finally summoned up the strength to bypass his comical demeanor, he was immediately thrust off the path of progress as his ruby hued eyes narrowed in on an obscenely large bag of candy that emerged from the Captains haori. Following behind this highly unpredictable action, Aizawa had began to mutter some other type of facetious statements, whether their nature was purposeful or purely a reflection of his personality he could not determine.

“The Captain Commander just hauled ass on his, well, ass. Now he fishes out a bag of candy completely disproportionate to his visually available capacity. He's like a living cartoon! I sure hope he doesn't switch up and ask me anything serious.” Shitae Aizawa (Cartoon Aizawa) was the nickname he had decided upon in his head just moments after his thought, but of course this new alias would strictly remain between his own two ears and most likely between anyone elses as long as he wasn't around. But sure enough, an inquiry touching on the previously brought up topic regarding the motivation behind joining the division was emphasized to the both of them. Normally his only concern now would be to keep from bursting into laughter upon his response, but Shitae Aizawa's antics caught him off guard so much that he had forgotten his answer. At least the one he was going to give to Reikon before he was cut off at the discovery of Shitae Aizawa's presence.

With the pressure mounting, he did not have time to try and recollect whatever his predetermined response was, he had to think of something on the fly. He did not know what would come out of his mouth at this point, but it would probably be crap compared to the well articulated and slightly philosophical answer given by his fellow seated counterpart. “Err..., umm, S-snow?” It did not hit him how remedial his response was until a few moments after the fact. He was uncertain exactly how it would be perceived but at the moment his only true concern was to fight back the laughter that had nearly escaped his now rosey red cheeks, he was on the verge of hysterical collapse. Digging his hands into the grass beneath his folded legs he gripped the earthen terrain in desperation, preventing himself from toppling over in comedic weakness. During which time he had to withdraw eye contact, relegating his garnet irises toward the ground, he needed unrivaled focus in order suppress his giggles, even the slightest oddity could potentially set off his inner facetious time bomb. From what Reikon had already seen from their brief interactions prior, this side of his personality would be a strange anomaly in contrast to what had already been exhibited. To him and probably Shitae Aizawa as well, they would probably conclude accurately that their divisions third seat had a weird foible to his personality.

Jun sat patiently happy to wait and hear what they had to say concerning their position on why they decided to become a part of the first division. There was certainly plenty of prestige that came with a position in Jun’s division and a whole myriad of other reasons that went from political to simply a moral choice. The same could be said for any other division though. However, just because similar questions could be posed to any shinigami within Soul Society did not make it any less important. Part of Jun’s job wasn’t just to hand out orders like his candies and let his division run freely. Jun needed to know more about his own shinigami, to understand them on a level only a captain should. It wasn’t just his job to use them, but to help mold them. Jun had reached a plateau of power that many shinigami never reach in their entire existence; he had been around long enough to experience just about everything one could ever expect to. It was hid duty now to share his knowledge to help others achieve their own goals, to become stronger to help others, and to go out of this world with no regrets. Therefore, asking them the question didn’t just help him to understand them better, but also gave him a better idea on how he could help them to become the shinigami they wanted to be.

Before he could get the answer to his question concerning their desire to be in his division though, he accepted the cup of tea from one of his subordinates. He took it graciously partly because he was indeed actually thirsty and partly because it was just common courtesy. The tea looked delicious. As a noble he had been taught proper etiquette concerning tea ceremonies and other important functions that required the proper drinking of a beverage. However, learning it and doing it were two completely different things. No doubt his tutors would have screamed in horror if they witnessed what he was about to do. Jun reached into his bag of candy reaching far down toward the bottom of the bag and pulling free a small bag of sugar. He smiled at the others as he poured that sugar into his tea almost filling it to the brim. He then placed the bag of sugar out in the center to offer it to the others along with his candy and reached once again back into the ridiculous bag. This time the shinigami pulled out a thick twizzler with a wide hollow center. He ripped the twizzler out of its packaging and used it to help stir his tea before leaving it in the cup and using it as a straw to suck up his insanely sweetened tea.

Jun continued to drink absent mindedly as he listened to Reikon answer Jun’s question first. As far as answers went it certainly was one to be respected. The shinigami answered honestly and from his heart. It was true that there were many shinigami who only considered their zanpakutou as a weapon not the partner in life that it truly was. The desire to be a captain one day himself was also commendable. It was probably the most common goal of all among the shinigami, but it was still a powerful goal indeed and one to be respected. Jun sincerely wished he could help Reikon achieve that goal one day given his answer at this time he certainly sounded like he would make a good one. However, that promotion relied more on Reikon then it ever would Jun. There were only so many ways to become captain and all of them involved a shinigami showing his worth and grasping it for himself. Jun would support Reikon how he could, but inevitably it would fall on Reikon.

Given the response by Reikon Jun assumed that his other subordinate, Taichi, would give an equally well spoken answer to the question posed on him. Up until this point Jun had been so focused on Reikon’s answer that he had yet to really take too much notice of Taichi. However, now that the attention was directed at the 3rd seat Jun could see that something was amiss with the shinigami. The other shinigami managed to look distraught, tense, and hysterical, all at the same time. Naturally, Jun assumed he might have been having some sort of allergic reaction to his candy. Many of Jun’s own servants had admitted to this strange illness oddly only after Jun had forced multiple bars of chocolate and candy canes on them. Needless to say it was a terrible disease and one that Jun had the 3rd division with their skilled medics urgently working on. Then Taichi managed to mumble out one word and it was a strange answer indeed. Then like a lightning bolt Jun got what Taichi had meant. The Captain Commander nodded his head enthusiastically taking a long draw of his tea before saying, “I completely understand. Snow is a beautiful part of nature yet so fleeting as seasons change. The peace and safety of Soul Society is much like snow. As time passes its own safety is just as fleeting as snow. Its own beauty is just as much at risk with the passing of time. We as shinigami must protect that safety, that beauty. We must keep the snow from melting and that is why we become shinigami. Why you no doubt joined the first division because you felt it would best accomplish that. Wonderful answer.” Jun then smiled and went back to his tea.

Jun waited a moment finishing the last of the tea before preparing his own answer. With the tea gone he set it down and addressed the two subordinates, “I found both of your answers very enlightening and I look forward to working with you both in the future. As for myself it is perhaps because I know no other life. Unlike you both probably I was born here in Soul Society. I am a noble and therefore had no life prior to Soul Society. This is my home in every sense of the word. This is where my family resides; this is where my kids shall grow up. This is where god willing I shall grow old and die. I became a shinigami because I wanted to protect my home. I want my kids to grow up somewhere safe and to watch the citizens of my home live out happy lives to match my own. This is why I came to first division, became Captain Commander. It was a calling that I had to answer to ensure that all this would be achieved. As Stan Lee once said, with great power comes great responsibility. I have achieved this power and it is my honorable duty as a member of Soul Society to use it for its benefit.” Jun then smiled pleased with his own answer. Even if the third Spider-man movie sucked didn’t mean that the comics or the quote were not any less awesome.

Reikon sat quietly as he watched the sunset while sitting beside his Captain Commander and 3rd seat squad mate. He was always in deep thought now days ever since his last visit with his father. Thinking was like an addiction to him, he was always in deep thought to the point people thought he was day dreaming or even ignoring them at times. To be honest he was quite good with multitasking and could listen as well as be burrowed deep in the back of his mind sifting around through all the questions he had. This was why Reikon was very good when it came to thinking up strategies quickly during tight situations. He could be in deep though and fight as well as defend without any hesitations or downfalls.

Reikon was debating on whether he should ask the Captain Commander about his father or not. He wanted to know if his father was as good of a Captain of Soul Society as he was a father. He wanted to know a little more on why and when exactly he was exiled for his crimes of eloping with a Quincy woman. It was obvious of the disagreements that both Shinigami and Quincy had against one another and the different ways they handled Hollows as well. Shinigami were more for purifying spirits and sending them over to Soul Society, doing this in an orderly way so that there was balance in Soul Society as well.

The Quincy on the other hand usually just eradicated the Hollows and sent them off without question or in an orderly fashion. This was why the Shinigami wanted the Quincy to stop interfering with their work as Soul Reapers. It was hindering the balance that the Shinigami were trying to regulate on the flow of spirits that were being delivered to Soul Society.
Reikon could agree with both sides in a way since he could understand that sometimes the Shinigami were busy and couldn't always go to the world of the living and stop a Hollow. This was the Home of the Quincy and humans therefore they saw these Hollows as a threat and disturbance to the well being and peace of their home. Its only fair that one would want to protect the place they call home. Even the Captain Commander himself stated this in his reply to his own question.

Reikon could see out of the corner of his eye as the Captain Commander suddenly reached into his large robust sack of goodies and suddenly retrieved a bag of granulated sugar. He had poured a good bit of sugar into the cup of tea that Reikon had given him and topped it off by adding a twizzler to use as a straw so that he could drink the tea. Reikon let a small smile crack as he watched in amusement, it was quite funny to see the head Captain so relaxed and laid back. The site kind of brought a bit of comfort and joy, seeing that even the Captain Commander could enjoy himself in such an important position amongst Soul Society.

He respected the views and opinions that the Head Captain had in response to his own question. It was a great responsibility to hold in order to protect the place you call home and the people you call family. Reikon hoped that one day he himself could one day become as great of a man as the Head Captain himself. He hoped that he could become a captain himself one day and even push further into becoming Captain Commander when the time ever came. He believe he could truly make a difference in Soul Society and one day create unity amongst all forms of power. He could see himself bringing a truce between all the Humans, Quincy, as well as Viazard and creating a stronger relationship amongst the four groups. If that ever happened it would mean a strong force against the evil that threatened both worlds.

They all worked towards common goals, but it was the chain of stingy disagreement that was pitted against the groups that made them dislike one another so much. It was a pity actually, these forces combined would truly create a powerful Alliance against any force of evil or corrupt power that dared to tread on the feet of the innocent or ever dared to go against any of the four. It would also create peace and less war would occur amongst the groups. It would leave more time to focus on the true problems that lay ahead for them all. Hueco Mundo was truly full of questionable characters that were always pondering what problems they could stir up next, what innocent they could hurt once more, what seat of power they could one day over throw that would lead in giving them absolute authority.

Sure maybe not all Arrancar were bad and the same goes for everyone else. Not all people decided to become who they were, for example not every Viazard asked to have a Hollow within them whom they would have to one day overcome in order to keep sanity and live their lives in order and not chaos. It was called Survival; survival can drive any man or woman to the brink of desperation, causing them to do unthinkable things they would never normally do without question or reconsideration. Perhaps it was fate that was cruel to us, fate that would drive you to the edge of insanity and back.

Reikon suddenly reached into the inner parts of his Shinigami uniform to uncover the Quincy pendant that was once his mothers. He held it for a moment and began to think back, trying to remember his mother but he could only remember brief visions of her. After all he was quite young when she had died while giving birth to his little sister. The pendant was quite beautiful as it reflected the sunset like a diamond reflecting the light to create a beautiful rainbow of colors. He than looked up at the Captain Commander as he brought forth the tough question that weighed on his mind.

"Captain, is it possible that i could ask you a question?", he asked as he held the pendant in his hands. "Did you ever know my father or mother?", question Reikon as he looked at the sunset. "My father was once a captain of 6th Division before he was Exiled and my mother was once a Quincy before she gave it up in order to start a family in which she lost her life while giving birth to my little sister.", he stated in a somewhat depressing tone of voice. He wasn't sure how the Captain Commander or even his fellow squad mate would react to this sudden question brought on the table of discussion.

The wind began to once again make its way past the group of them as it lifted up a cluster of fallen Sakura petals, carrying them away like an angel escorting beauty within her grasp. The breeze left a calming presence upon Reikon as he lifted his cup of tea up to his mouth and took a refreshing sip. The topic was a bit touchy for Reikon to bring up but he felt that he needed someone with experience to hopefully answer in hopes to clear the cluttered thoughts that filled his mind. "I apologize for suddenly changing the subject but this question has always been weighing on my mind ever since i last saw my father.", announced Reikon politely. He than picked up his Zanpakuto and held it close to him almost as if seeking some form of comfort by a loved one.

Suddenly the Angelic female figure appeared once again by his side as she rested her arm around Reikon in hopes to comfort his sudden sorrow. She was quite beautiful and always seemed to understand Reikon better than anyone else. She was always there for him when he needed comfort or someone to talk to and she always seemed to find that way of making him feel better. "It's okay Reikon, you don't need to be sad you know... it's only a question that's weighing heavily on your mind.", she said as she held him in comfort. "It's a good thing to seek answers in the things that trouble you sometimes, it opens up new doors that let out the pain that fills your heart. Reikon knew what Kurenai was saying was true but it was still hard to open up to people like this, he was always raised to be tough and protect others...not have others protect him. He was never used to letting his true feelings show in fear of people either judging him or not understanding what he meant. It was like his own built up defense that made him the person he was today, it was quite annoying sometimes since it was a burden on him. But Kurenai was never wrong on her advice, she always knew what was best for him so he wouldn't doubt her now.

After what seemed like a decade of silence that was awkward, at least by his standards, the nervous anticipation behind his comical emotions had been soothed by the voice of his commander. It was the sound of a response, and like a primal reaction he was filled with dismay, certain that he would be berated for his in-articulation. It was the first division after all and surely Shitae Aizawa was looking to maintain a certain decorum even if they were off duty. With this unproven assumption his nerves took to him like daggers with the force so great that he was actually relieved of his mildly suppressed inner laughter. Now the only thing that he could think about was the social ramifications his uneducated and unconventional answer would bestow upon him, surely he was in for some sort of heat. “Maybe Aizawa will even coin a nickname for me himself, perhaps Baka (idiot) Taichi or something!?” He exclaimed in thought with a frantic tone, my how he cursed his personalities weird shortcoming.

His eye's widened with surprise, though Reikon nor Aizawa would notice as his head was still hung and his irises still burning a hole through the ground beneath him. The commanders first few words, “I completely understand.”, threw him for the most complex and unique of loops he had ever been through. He was baffled how that extremely minor conveyance of his deep and genuine thoughts could have made sense inside the small window of reference towards the topic of the conversation. Eager to find out the answer, he listened on without budging, as if his movements could possibly distort the Captains voice from a couple of arms length in distance away. “What the..!?” The commander was exactly right for the most part, essentially hitting he needle on the head with his impressive inference. No one had ever been able to wrap their intellect around his own with such precision, Aizawa's powers of deduction were so sharp they almost frightened him.

“W-well yeah, that’s the meat of it. To become as pure as snow, is actually all of what I meant to say, but I guess it doesn't matter now since you caught on so quickly. I see a glimpse of why you are the Captain Commander.” He had managed to regroup and find his composure, readjusting his posture and demeanor back to that of mature conversation (despite the large bag of candy being devoured by his counterparts). It seemed now he had to re assess his thoughts about Aizawa, though he was indeed comical in a cartoon-like sense he had also shown his super intelligence that almost demanded an instance of respect. As oppose to stressing himself out on the matter he simply accepted both aspects of his impressions toward the Captain and combined them into one. He would still be Shitae Aizawa to him no doubt, but now he would have no foreseeable problems separating that and substituting in his gained respect when needed.

After the unexpected revelation he was now back within the conversation at full attentive capacity, now being able to zero in on things that he would have otherwise been oblivious to, such as the captains next statement. It was interesting to get a little background on their Commander, for one thing, he had no Idea it was even possible to be born in the afterlife. He had always assumed every shinigami died in world of the living at some point even though most, including himself, did not remember anything of their past life. As he contemplated this, his eyes happened to roam in the direction of his darkly garbed fellow officer Reikon. It was evident that he was troubled about something before he had spoke, but never would he have imagined that what was bothering him was so 'out there' in terms of subject matter. “His father and exiled Captain and his mother a quincy. Hmm, this could get interesting.” He nodded to himself in thought as he sat patiently, his eyes now roaming over to Shitae Aizawa, eagerly anticipating his response on the matter.
