Kiriko looked over her paperwork and sighed. She really needed to chose a Lieutenant already and shift some of this burden onto a willing helper. It had been easier to handle this all before the human world Invasion, but with all of the information that needed to be gathered now to ascertain exactly what was going on in the human world her men were busier then ever and sending in report after report that had to be categorized and passed on to the appropriate people. It was even worse when it came to her investigation into Sakamoto Miki. That had been a duty charged by so many other divisions that she was almost glad they had remembered that it was the Second who handled this kind of thing. Still, everyone wanted to be involved, to help, to suss out details, and she was receiving poorly written reports from Shinigami all the way from the Third down to even a few from the Fifth strangely enough. Little things, details about the last time someone had seen Sakamoto, the things she had said, what she'd eaten. Things that didn't seem to matter or fit into any pattern Kiriko could assess, but things she had to document nonetheless.
As agonizing as the wait was for her battle with Sakamoto, some small part of herself would be glad to have this all over with. The turmoil was enough that she'd finally signed off on Ametsuchi changing the location of Maggot's Nest. She was certain he was done with the transfer by now, and along with his report on the move she was interested in seeing if he was still curious about learning her style of fighting. Shunko. Her secret weapon. It wouldn't do to be a Captain though and have secrets like that, not when her creation could help so many other Shinigami stand their own against stronger foes.
Sending out a Hell Butterfly to find Ametsuchi, she waited patiently for his arrival. He was seldom seen outside of the Maggot's Nest, but maybe it would do the man some good to remember what the rest of the Second Division looked like. She didn't want to pull him from his comfort zone, but it was necessary for this training session to happen in a more open area then before. Sekkiseki stone would only dampen their ability to work with Shunko, and it was a difficult enough skill to develop without that hindrance.
Unlike her recent fight with Kohara, Kiriko wouldn't subject Ametsuchi to a public display of ineptitude. Instead she had signed out the common dojo for a block of time today. No one would disturb them in there, and they would have the peace and quiet needed for this kind of study. It would be strange to share her art with someone else, but there was no better student then Ametsuchi. He was a kindred spirit, dower and hard working. Kiriko could trust him to learn quickly and to give his all, but also to keep quiet about things best not mentioned. It was a dark spot on her record that some people had thought to question, the fact that Kiriko had been so close to the traitor Sakamoto Miki before her defection. Luckily no one knew yet that she had been the one to show Sakamoto Shunko, and was therefore directly responsible for all of the injuries the woman had sown with that powerful ability. It was a secret she would keep to herself, another painful sin to add to her list. But without Sakamoto Kiriko would have never had the Kido knowledge to move forward with her idea, and without Sakamoto she would still just be that Lieutenant without any specialty. In the end, she would never know if it was worth it. She could only pray that the people who had died and been horribly injured because of Sakamoto would be outnumbered by the people she could save by spreading the knowledge of Shunko to the Shinigami.
