In the early morning a young man stepped out of the Spiritual Arts Academy to take a quick breath of fresh air before his classes. It was still a bit chilly, and the man had to pull his blue and white student's robes up around him to keep the heat in. The morning dew, still fresh upon the grass, lapped at his tabi as he strolled through a barren courtyard. He was unsure of where exactly he was going, but he had a feeling of exploration about him. The man's name was Akimoto Nakamura, and he was a new student at the Academy. He had not found any time to explore the Seireitei as of yet, which was something he had been wanting to do for quite some time now.
As he continued his walk, he realized that every single barracks was bustling, except one. The Fourth Division buildings were silent. Not a sound was coming from any of them, and that worried Aki. He half expected a huge explosion at any second, this silence simply being the 'calm before the storm'. In any event, he probably shouldn't stray to close to that division, else he might end up an experiment or something. He had heard whispers of crazy scientists and rampant test subjects. There was no way he wanted to get caught up in that mess.
Finding a nice dry spot to sit, Aki took the time to make himself comfortable. He leaned back against the wall behind him, and as he lay back, he took his ZanpakutÅ and rested it in his lap. The shorter than normal blade was nestled in its sheath, which in turn was held carefully in the folds of his kimono. Akimoto looked down at the ZanpakutÅ, wondering why she hadn't talked to him in a while. They had been very busy as of late, so maybe she was just tired. Masshirona usually was a bit more talkative though, so this was a tad odd. He would have to take some time later today and talk to her, try to see whats wrong.
Opening his eyes, Aki noticed a man off in the distance. He was the only other person outside at this time, and Akimoto wondered what he might be up to. That being said, the man was in amongst the buildings of the Fourth Division, so he was probably a member, maybe even an officer. Aki squinted briefly, trying to see if he could spot a badge of some kind. Not being able to discern one, he leaned back against the wall. Oh well, he thought to himself, if he decides I am worth his time, he will come over to me.
