Akimoto listened to Mitsu as he answered the questions directed at him. He sure was a talker. That was okay though, as Aki was more of a listener anyways. The man assured him that he would indeed be there if need be, as long as the circumstances did not cause him to lose the ability to forge the perfect world, or cause the loss of his own dearly beloved, if he had one. That was all fine and dandy. There was no way that the student would ask him to do anything that would possibly endanger either of those two things. He should know that anyways, seeing as he was so good at analyzing people.
Then Mitsu-san piped up with his own question, "And you? Will you fight for me against uncertain odds should my ideals and hopes be endangered? May I depend on you to be my companion in battle as well as in friendship?" Akimoto looked over at the officer, slightly titling his head to the side. “Of course you can! I am nothing, if not a good friend. Call upon me whenever and however many times you need to. I will answer as quickly and rapidly as I possibly can.†The golden-haired youth finally forced himself to get up off of the grass. Wiping his hakama quickly to remove stray blades of grass, he continued. “Furthermore, I have no intentions of calling upon you if I am certain it will cause you to be unable to continue your search for they way to forge your world. Nor will I summon if it means any harm coming to a potential loved one.†Looking at the sky, Akimoto knew that his class was coming soon, and he should probably be heading off.
Slowly he meandered his way back to the main path, preparing to depart back to the Academy. Shooting Mitsutaka a quick glance he said, “I am curious, would you like to continue this conversation, or shall we pick it up at a later date? I have class soon, and must at least walk in the proper direction. My teacher is the Captain of the Fifth Division, Miyazaki Hikari, and I would hate to be late for a class with her at the helm.†Leaning to his side, Akimoto began briefly stretching his tired limbs in an attempt to get the blood flowing back into them. Showing up to a Zanjutsu class without stretching was a horrid idea in the first place, as you were likely to get the living daylights knocked out of you. Glancing back at Mitsu, he added, “If you choose to conitue the conversation later, however, it will need to be done in battle. I would like to spar with you out in the Rukongai, West District 79. The date is unimportant, I am sure we will decide one eventually. If the talking must continue now, you should start walking.â€
With that, the young man put one foot in front of the other, and began the long walk back to the Spiritual Arts Academy.
