All though the days as a teacher at the Spiritual Arts Academy were taxing on Hikari's brain, she loved the classes. To see the advancements of the men and women in the school made her feel a good bit of pride in the resilience they had. She worked them hard, and made them spar/train or whatever for a good portion of their time. Once in a while she would show them a few basic combination, then ordering them to perfect them before the next time at class. Of course she could see that some of them were not, or never would be proficient with a blade. Well not to her standard at least, but she could look past that because they excelled at the Demon Arts. Hikari didn't share much of the same reservation that her division had, with concerning those who practiced the demon arts. Hikari was able to do quite a bit of Kido before she had come to the fifth division, but due to spiritual atrophy she wasn't much better than many of these rookies.
They had just had a test today and so Hikari started the monotonous task at reviewing her notes, and giving her students a grade. As she fumbled through the pages she stopped at the notes of a particularly horrid student. Her cheeks flushed a little red, but the redness wasn't due to anger, but the name of the student. Akimoto Nakamura was written on the paper. She had done something very surprising while looking at his Kata, with out thinking she drew a little cat paw next to his name then a heart. Now these little doodles weren't all that odd for her paperwork, but the heart was definitely something that she had never included among these doodles, well on a males paperwork. Grabbing a pencil she promptly scribbled it out. She had never liked a boy before romantically before, and was quite sure she didn't feel this way about this certain boy, but for some reason when it came to him, his eyes, his hair, his lip... Hikari shook that word out of her mind and reminded herself that she was the Strongest Shinigami in the whole Seireitei.
Passing up the rest of the papers she took the top page and wrote the letter C+ on the top corner. So focused on grading she didn't hear the door to the class room open, nor did she hear any words spoken by the guest. Hikari had to get this done so she could go hang out with her best friend Kasumi, the division two Captain.
