So for those of you unaware my life has gone to absolute shit the last couple weeks.
I took a week off BG for the second time this year. And while I owe a whopping...12 posts...my priority right now is getting my story straight since so many of you have come to me in the last four or five days asking about, well, plot.
So I'm going to try to find some time today to just hang out on Skype and talk story/plot with people. Hopefully I'll find some time to write tonight too.
Most of us are familiar with the Crab concept of naming someone as your voice. A sacred act of giving a trusted friend the duty of speaking for you at your wake. A voice can purge the stain if regret from a dead comrade's soul, the task is complex and difficult, a sacred burden.
But...By the time Rokugan 2000 comes along, I imagine the voice having a less visible, but much more vital role...

Made Miyuki my Kitsune...almost. Deciding between the two builds. I already have a sap-master kitsune so the second one feels repetitive. But the first one I basically adopted from someone else's build (although they used a human base)? The character chokes people out with her tails. The first one does it with Ice Magic (and debuffs) and the second one does it with brute force (dealing shit tons of damage). Which one do I use? One has magic and the other has double the skill points and does tons of damage...but I think the magus will hit more often?
Character can cast as a 11th level Magus with access to a number of Arcana and feats. In one attack with spellstrike can grapple, entangle, exhaust, demoralize, sicken and begin choking the victim. Can also fly, freeze people, put them to sleep, etc... with Hexes/Arcana.
9+DEX+ENCHANCEMENT to Hit 1d4+INT+28d6+14 +28 AC on Hit Can Flatfoot on Charge or with Intimidate Can attack into grapple into constrict, dealing 14d6+28d6 on the one hit, then can offhand attack for another 14d6. With bleeding attack and powerful sneak, averages out to 240.5 damage (196 nonlethal). And +56 dodge bonus to AC.

To-hit could be a bit low. 9+X+5 gives you a base to-hit of 14 before dex with a fully upgraded weapon, but you probably end up with something like... 20 or more to-hit? Probably good.
You know one thing BG has done over the years that I've always respected about it (especially when plotting with members like Tova and Kiriko)? They always figure out how to incorporate the final erasure of things long since abandoned by a majority of the playerbase. Central 46? The Nobles? The Shakanmaru? By using these elements selectively, they manage to actually bring back older members whose characters were driven by these otherwise completely unused phenomena...not to mention ensure that future players won't be pouring sand into the same rat traps. Total props.
