It stood alone on the top of one of the towers of the Espada. Which one? In the end it was irrelevant. It knew what was happening, they all did, a cacophonous sound that roared through their hivemind told them of what was to come. This was the beginning of the end of Humanity, the moment when Batallion finally revelled in the powers that it had. They were one, they were superior to all in every way shape and form and all this had come to pass from a singular decision.
He wondered if Tova had foreseen all this, had foretold that in the near future his precious Hueco Mundo would be a battle ground once more? If Batallion was still a Human it would have laughed at the irony of it all. For today was the day when Batallion single-handedly crushed the weak in it's iron grasp and then proceeded to show Earth the glory of what it had evolved into. It'd start in the capital cities, it's clones would convert the strong first, the ones that could actually fight back and then this would spread to the weak until they were all perfectly equal in every way. They'd reach enlightenment, they'd understand that being a part of Batallion was true peace and that their own endeavours to find this true peace were all for nought.
This one was waiting for them. The two that had seen it's birth. They would be the first to fall, the chosen children to rise as the messiahs of the machine god. For that was what Batallion was, it just wasn't a sequence of entities working towards one unified goal, it was a god. A god that had transcended the limitations of man, a god that had become perfect through it's own quest to become perfect. Perhaps they would fear what was to come? Perhaps they would fear what they could not understand.
Once it remembered it had chosen to call Adimus it's father and Kohaku it's sister, but those limitations had been stripped away with it's transcendance. It understood that family was a limitation that could simply not be allowed. It had purged itself of that, of the carnal needs of a Human Being and had become so much more. The only comfort was the unified voices, all the facets of Batallion that made him understand that the only way was through unification and perfection.
This was an evolution that only those blessed with it could understand.
Everybody else was flawed.
So Kohaku and Adimus would come, they'd come to it because it called to them with it's spiritual pressure. It whispered in their ears that this would be the final time they would meet, they either killed it or succumbed to the evolution of man. For it was not only it that went to battle this day, but the other facets of itself as well. All the facets, all the aspects, all the tiny pieces of Batallion that whispered and hummed.
They all were going to war.
This one? This one was the one most plagued by the Brain and Brawn that had been there during it's birth, this was the one that was the most original of them all and perhaps was the one most likely to fail.
No.
All of them had picked names for themselves, points in their history in which to identify itself to those who did not understand their goal.
It's name was Evan.
And it was no longer alone.
