Silence.
One of the many things in this dimension that Jake could find beauty in.
But this silence was not what you think it was- it was silence of mind, of pure serenity. Nirvana, as it was called in many indian religons. In the state of being of perfect mind, free from suffering. This is how Jake felt right now- like nothing in the world could bring him down from this elated state of hapiness. The millieu of this land was very hilly, grassy- the sunset shined upon the chlorophyll, directing the sunlight to Jake, bathing him in a warm shower that felt like the gods shining upon him. "This is great," Jake thought as he sat upon the hill. This was the hill that he always seeked for refuge- where many good times were spent, but many bad as well. Jake cringed at the thought- how many smiles had been shared here, but how many tears as well had been shed. But Jake now was free from his duties as a lieutenant, even just for the night. It felt good.
Jake looked down at his side, at the small packet of dinner he had brought himself. Three small bottles of wine, and 6 tuna rolls were the contents- and did it smell like ambrosia. Jake took out a fork (he had never gotten used to chopsticks), and began to eat his sushi. After putting one roll in his mouth, Jake put his head against the large tree behind him and smiled at the taste.Jake then swallowed, missing the texture already, and sighed. Jake put another one in his mouth, and the exact same thing, although this time savoring the succulent flavor for almost a minute before finally swallowing. Jake rinsed and repeated this method, until he was finally out of the rolls. Jake then sighed. It was extremely boring and saddening to be here alone- this place was meant to be shared with others, like Jake had done many years ago. God, how he missed Jennifer. The memories, the memories, all gone, all gone. "Supress it- just enjoy your time here." Jake thought. Even after all these years, Jake still went into slumps of depression, a voice inside whispering to him it was all his fault that she died- and sometimes, he would believe that voice was true...
But as Jake snapped back into reality, he realize there maybe would be solace to being alone here. He sensed two reiatsu signatures nearing himself- both shinigamis, at least he thought. One was extremely powerful- one captain or another. The other, less powerful, however, but still very strong. But the second one seemed strange- just something about it set it apart from the first. But nevermind that- if it really was different from the other shinigami, Jake would deal with it when it came to him. So, Jake put out 2 of his bottles of wine from his packet, and put them on the warm grass. The clear liquid magnified the light, making Jake's eyes burn, causing him to look away from the glasses of alcohol. But when and if the 2 came, he was more than willing to share these 2 glasses, if they drank. He was glad, if they were friendly, to have some company.
