Ring. Ring. Ring.
The sounds were everywhere. Strange objects that people kept in their pockets that they would take out when it rang to look at something on its surface, or sometimes put it to their heads and talked into it as though it were a person. Times had changed a lot since Rafael’s last visit to the human world, he wasn’t sure how he felt about this place.
The young Arrancar walked down the middle of the rode, dressed as always in just a pair of pans, they were ragged at the ends and most of his calf was visible on each leg. His dark fair was rather long, and looked unkempt as Rafael had no style for it.
It was as he was walking that a strange object flew by him, moving so quickly on four wheels, faster than any object he had seen in the real world. He stepped to the side in surprise, furthering himself from the object as it went past. He saw 4 people inside, two adults in the front and two children in the back. What the hell was that thing, some form of wagon? But it didn’t have anything pulling it, how did it work?
Rafael was still confused even as the object sped past, what the hell was that thing? He was in a large town, at least large by his standards, in truth he was in a small town somewhere in the outskirts of Tokyo. It was a good thing he hadn’t ended up there, or he would have been even more confused.
The reason Rafael was wandering around this place was because he and Maku were hunting in the human world, the only problem was it was difficult to find things to hunt. He and Maku had not found much, and what they had found seemed to vary greatly in power, some spirits being extremely weak while some were incredibly strong.
There were none currently however, and Rafael was extremely hungry, to the point that he was now looking at the humans who were walking on either side of the street. If he killed one, they would become a plus right? Then he could eat them, and he’d be less hungry. He’d have to kill them twice, which was a little cruel, but Rafael wasn’t the type of person that really cared about that.
Finding a human walking by himself, Rafael began to tail the being, making no attempt to hide himself however as the person obviously couldn’t see him. The man was in his mid 40’s, and fortunately for Rafael he was heading into an alleyway between two small buildings. It wasn’t the best place to kill someone, but was better than the side walk.
The man walked to a door in the alleyway and started fiddling with keys, as he walked into the alleyway Rafael glanced at the sign, apparently it was a restaurant. As the man opened the door Rafael moved quickly, closing the distance between them at a brisk pace before grabbing the man by the back of his collar as he began to step through the door. The man stopped as Rafael’s grip tightened, but as he tried to turn around to see what was holding him Rafael pulled the man out of the doorway, and slammed him against the concrete wall of the building next to the restaurant. The man let out a shout of surprise as he flew backwards that was cut short by a cry of pain as his body hit the wall.
Rafael would glance down the alleyway both ways before walking forth and putting his foot on the man’s chest, holding him in place. He was about to kill this man, and then he was going to eat his soul.
