Being a giant had its ups and downs. The upside of being a giant monstrosity was that most hollows ran away just from the site of you. Of course the downside was that you wanted to feed on the hollows that were currently running away. You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to bend down and take a bite of a hollow you just killed with his side. After a while of procrastinating, Sora had finally found the perfect way to feed. If he charged a cero and released at his prey, he could absorb the ashes easily. At first, he thought this was the perfect plan. That was until he realized that these small fries just weren’t doing it for him. He needed something more, something bigger… something stronger.
As he walked, Sora glanced around the Menos Forest. He hadn’t realized how big the trees were until he realized that they still dwarfed him with their size. How could they be that big? Sora had a hard time fathoming the immense size of the forest he was currently in. Since the forest was so big, it was becoming increasingly challenging to find a prey worthy of him. For the past few hours, he had been searching for prey similar to him. Along the way, he made sure to devour the occasional passerby. After a day had passed, he finally met a prey worthy of him, a Menos Grande.
But of course there just had to be more than ten of them. One he could handle, maybe even two. But more than ten and he was a goner. As the pack of Menos Grande walked up to him, Sora stayed absolutely still. He had to be careful if he wanted to make it out alive. After sniffing him for a few seconds, they made their way past him. For some odd reason, he suspected that he had been accepted into the fold. If only they knew that he was a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. He would devour all of them whenever he got the chance. Until then, he would wait as long as it took.
For a few hours, Sora took note of the way each of them attacked. While he was waiting for his chance to kill each and every one of them, he needed some sort of plan. Only one or two of them had different masks like he did. The others seemed to only have one goal in mind, to feed. His opportunity arrived when the main group split into 3 groups while hunting a particularly fast prey. As they followed their prey, Sora looked at the three Menos beside him. He had decided to attack them while they were attacking their prey. Slowly, without them noticing, he slowly made his way to the back of the group. He could feel the excitement of what he was about to do boiling in his skin.
As soon as they attacked the unlucky hollow they had cornered, Sora began charging a powerful cero in his mouth. The moment it was charged, he unleashed it towards one of the three Menos. Surprised at the betrayal, the Menos only had enough time to turn and face the cero full on. While the Menos he attacked disappeared into particles, Sora wasted no time in biting the next one in the neck. With an angry shake of his head, he tore the throat out of the Menos Grande. With two down, Sora looked at the one who was caught up in devouring his prey. That was going to be the last time the hollow would not mind his surroundings.
Making his way toward group B of the Menos, Sora smiled beneath his mask. He could feel the power of the hollows he devoured thrumming in his chest. Did he feel a single remorse for what he had done? No, it was a hollows natural instinct to devour its own kind. He had just done what all the hollows had wanted to do in his head. As soon as Sora felt three more Menos Grande ahead of him, he stopped. If he wanted to win, he would have to take them by surprise. Charging a cero in his mouth, he released it from his hiding spot.
Sensing something powerful coming his way, the Menos turned his head toward the energy. The cero devoured his mask, leaving only a bloody headless body in its wake. Luckily for Sora, his cero tore through the Menos to his the other one in its chest. Absorbing the particles from the hollows he had just killed, he faced his last opponent. This was one going to be a challenge, since its mask was unique, similar to his. For a few moment, both enemies didn’t move, each one observing the other. With a roar, Sora charged head on toward the hollow.
Expecting this, the hollow launched a cero at him. Dodging to the side, Sora felt the edge of his cloak simmering with heat. For a few minutes both sides clashed, neither one wanting to give up. But soon, Sora gained the upper hand. Biting a chunk out of the Menos Grande, he soon delivered the final blow. Too concentrated on his fight, Sora never noticed the other Menos quietly sneaking up on him. He would have been devoured, never to be seen again, if it wasn’t for Nova.
Look out damnit, behind you. Turning in surprise, Sora was barely able to dodge the incoming cero. Groaning in pain, he looked at his left arm, which was no longer there. Rushing toward the hollow, he sacrificed his remaining arm to devour the hollow that had surprised him. Why, why would you save me? Nova responded by telling him that even if he was in control, this was still both of their bodies. If they had any hope of surviving, they had to work together. Silently agreeing with his new partner, Sora and Nova soon devoured their remaining comrades. That was when they felt a pull on their souls.
I guess this is it for more Sora; it’s been a good run. No Sora responded, if we evolve, we evolve together. A few seconds later, Nova and Sora disappeared in a flash of light. In the place that they used to be, laid a new, different hollow. It was the same and yet different. I am Nebula, the birth of a sun. As he tried out his new form, words rang throughout his head from a powerful Quincy. “Dying for someone is easy, monster. Living for them is hard. But it’s even harder to live for yourself. How pitiful an existence that is defined over the need to be liked, to be needed by someone else!” “You truly are hollow.” The Quincy was correct in what he said, but for how long? Nebula was a changed creature and one day when he was strong enough, he would show that Quincy.
