Silence was all that remained between Kizen and his blade, her words resounding within him and shining like a beacon of hope. Hope isn't an easy thing to maintain when all you've known were lies. He had failed to pull her true form into this world, his defeat would only motivate him to move forward. The task at times, felt like holding your hand out at the sun and attempting to grasp it within your fingers; only to find it further away each time you try again. The sun may move out of his reach for now, but just like the sun sets every evening - the sun will rise again. His course had been altered, feeling lost amidst a sea of waves all trying to push him the way they wanted. He'd never learned to take the wheel and steer his own way, the delusional belief that he'd maintained control all this time only lead him further away from his goal.
Stepping out of the Senkaimon with Tokiyo in tow, he felt as if he'd taken control for the first time in his life. As much as he wanted to return, it wasn't his time yet. It takes no effort to grasp the ropes, having the courage to pull them and raise that sail is the hardest task he will face. A wise man will make his own decisions, an ignorant one will follow the opinions of others. Kirishi and Jasper, they plan to use him as a tool for their own needs. So much blood will flow from the choices they will make. The events that follow can lead to war, to the destruction of everything people have spent thousands of years building around him. Someone had to stop what Kirishi was planning, even Jasper had no idea what she was doing. His fingers brushed over the handle of his blade; did he even know what he was doing?
They made their way to the former site of the Kido Corps. Kizen waited for Tokiyo to unlock the sealed door and close it behind them, they descended into the halls where the massacre took place. Powerful etched marks scarred the walls, as if it a powerful force has carved its mark in the souls of the lives taken that day. The walls smelled of death and decay, of iron and regret. The last time he had set foot in these halls, it had been full of vibrant and intelligent people happy with their lives. This place will stand as a training ground for the darkness that was descending upon the gates of the Seireitei. The game had been set, the pieces aligned so delicately by Kirishi the past few months. The pawns all put into place by her chosen, all that was left was for someone to make a stupid decision and she would capitalize upon it and strike. Turning to Tokiyo and placing his hand on his blade, he spoke with a serious tone.
"We're running out of time, they're going to know I am back eventually. The walls of this place keep will keep Kirishi out of my head, She has a hold over me. Her hold over me is tied to a blond bond, Tenko is not the one at fault; she just wanted to save me. Kirishi, however, is not so innocent. Her plans have begun to turn the tide of things in her favor, I need to break that hold she has on me. If I fail, I will just end up another one of her pawns. I need you to push me to my limit, if I cannot break free of her then you need to kill me. If you don't, she could take control of me and turn me into a weapon. I won't allow her to do this to me, I know I can break free of this." he draws his blade, gripping his fingers tightly around the handle. He needed to be pushed to his limit, to be pushed to the brink of death if necessary. This time, failure was not an option for him; he either succeeded or he was going to die in the hallowed halls of this bunker.
"I can't change what I've done, but I can change what I'm going to do. I've never had a reason to be more than what I am now, I've never had a reason to hope before. I can't describe what I felt in that forest, but I think I felt something everyone does when they find their moment. The moment when you first see the potential you've had locked within your Zanpakuto all along, I don't know how to hold onto it. I guess that is just something I will have to find within myself, but it's something I'm ready to sacrifice my own life to find." flicking the switch on his hilt, his eyes begin to glow with a faint hue. The crystal core contained within his hilt becomes exposed as the hilt begins to hum, spinning upwards the crystal begins to draw in light from the surrounding area. His eyes narrow as he moves his open palm over the cold steel of the blade, swiping his palm across the blade he shouts it's release command.
"Hakucho No Kogo(Empress of Swans), Kagayaku(Shine)" in a vibrant flash, the blades form falls away into a shimmering light that surrounds Kizen. He holds out his hand, allowing the light to take form within his grasp. The light expands in his hand, forming a small wakizashi that vibrated against his touch. Stepping outside of the bounds of safety, he stood prepared to face a challenge he might not survive.
"I'm ready"
