Karakura Town, Japan - 3:45pm.
“Alright, children, remember to collect the herbs from the wild, do not dare to buy them! Bring them tomorrow, or else you will surely fail the biology class this semester.”
The teacher’s voice was accompanied by a soft touch of threat in it, and a murmur went to the crowd, pained and frustrated expressions on the faces of the children. Sumire was one of them, and although she loved biology classes, this teacher of hers could be a pain in the ass. She did a lot for good grades, but not simply everyone had the time nor the muse to drive to the outskirts of Tokyo after class to spend hours on collecting herbs in the woods. But apparently that was necessary nowadays to pass this class, and thus she had no other choice. Seemingly frustrated, she leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, a sigh escaped from her lips as she did so.
She enjoyed quiet places and the nature, but Sumire always remembered herself that because of her ability to see, feel and speak to Spirits, she was in danger. Thus it was safer for her to return to the Tsutsugami estate right after school, but today it simply couldn’t be helped. She grabbed her bag and fixed her school uniform before leaving for the train. The ride wasn’t all too long, probably around 30 minutes. She didn’t went to the countryside all too often and it was always an experience - eventhough she prefered to be home before the sun started to set.
Sumire still had no clue what was the meaning behind this, but perhaps she just had to wait and see. She didn’t wanted to be scolded for buying the items instead of collecting them, because knowing Misses Nakamura, that old witch would surely notice it within an instant. She pulled out a small book in which she had marked all the things she needed while walking through the woods. The deeper she got inside the forest, the quieter it became, but Su was too busy with studying the list to notice. Her first stop was in front of a collection of little bushes. She kneeled down and inspected the plants in front of it sceptically.
“What do you think, Moya-kun? Could this be a … Ascathopanax Sciadophylloides?” She spoke the name loud and slowly, glancing over to her invisible imaginary friend, who of course, did not respond. She shrugged it off. “Well, if you ask me, this one looks just like the one in the book.” She pulled out a small knife and seperated the plant from it’s roots to put it into the little basket she had brought with herself. “Yup, looks just about right. Now for the next one…”
The red-head stood up and turned on her heel, when she suddenly heard a rustling noise coming from behind her. A nervous smile crested her lips and she slowly turned back around. “H-hello? I-i’s s-someone there?”
