Birth totem owl is an individual whose outer personality is focused upon understanding all of life’s myriad mysteries. In nature, the Owl is known for her ability to quietly observe her prey as she sits perched atop a nearby tree limb, waiting for the opportune moment in which to strike. When the moment comes, owl will fly silently, taking the intended prey by complete surprise. Like their birth totem, individuals born under owl will fly into new situations and encounters with their eyes wide open and their ears attuned to the slight nuances and mannerisms that will reveal much to them about their new environment or companions. This knowledge may be utilized to gain better understanding and appreciation for others, or (if the owl person is operating from contrary personality), the information obtained may be used to strike down those whom they may perceive as a threat.
Perhaps the greatest natural ability of birth totem owl individual is his/her ability to see the good in nearly any situation they encounter. One who is operating from a well integrated owl center, may inspire others to rise above their own indifference and succumb to the contagious enthusiasm of the owl, thereby participating in a group effort to effect positive change in the world around them. One of the greatest challenges to this particular birth totem is that these individuals have a difficult time in settling their own restless inclinations to be forever on the move, if not literally, then metaphorically speaking. So intent are they upon seeing all they can see, and experiencing everything that can possibly be squeezed into one lifetime, that they often miss the deeper sense of satisfaction that can come with setting up nest and nurturing a deeper understanding of a few select topics, rather than skimming the surface of many varied subjects and hence, gleaning little useful knowledge. When birth totem owl individual can come to the ultimate understanding of their own restless nature and quell the impulse to fly in fear of what they may find within themselves, then the higher self may be met and embraced through their newfound skill of focused concentration.[/spoiler][/span][/span][/span][/span]

Physical Description: Angeni has never particularly put much emphasis on physical appearance, though from an outside perspective she would be considered quite attractive. Being a born and raised native of the American Southwest, Angeni has a bronzed and defined skin tone. A healthy and controlled diet has kept her skin blemish-free and supple. A cascading river of sable locks traverse the length of her body, ending just past her waist. Her eyes are wide and full of prophetic wisdom yet also convey a sense of wonder and adventurism. Shimmering jade with flecks of gold beneath thick onyx lashes center themselves between a rounded forehead and what could be considered a “cute button nose.” A watchful gaze, coupled with a kind and endearing softness can usually be seen present in her expression and tends to be the “default”. Her facial structure bears soft and delicate features, dimpled cheeks tapering along a feminine jawline and ending in a softly pointed chin. Full lips bearing a natural soft ruby hue complete a beautiful visage that portrays her “exotic” lineage.
Coupled with her closely upheld healthy diet and a daily regimen of exercising, Angeni boasts a lithe and athletic build. Toned muscle compose the graceful curves of her body, culminating in a physique often desired by many. Rather than bearing an overly buxom bust and wide hips, they are instead suitably sized and fit her anatomic structure perfectly. She is neither excessively tall nor short, but rather she stands at what could be considered average height for women her age. Neither does she bear excessive body fat, rather it is completely proportionate to the muscles that line her body. Her movements are graceful and fluid in their execution, seemingly blending together without pause or fail. Occasionally she tends to adopt a partially bouncy step to her movements when she is in high spirits, which tends to be quite often. An aroma of lavender lingers upon her skin, due in part to the brand of body wash that she uses. An underlying scent of herbal incense mingles with the lavender, a subtle blend that is pleasing to the senses.
Angeni is, for lack of a better term, an incredibly soft-spoken young woman. Rarely does she raise her voice or become angry with others, instead exercising a zen-like patience with everyone she encounters. She addresses everyone with respect and is apparently very trusting of anyone she meets, giving them the benefit of the doubt and even easily forgiving transgressions against herself and allies. Others have described her voice as being melodic in tone and soothing to those who hear it, carrying a maternal warmth and comforting that is capable of instilling serenity while also bolstering resolve.
Angeni’s sense of style can be seen as both traditional, paying homage to her tribal heritage, and also modern, blending modern style with Native American influence. Frequently, however, she tends to wear the traditional mystic’s “uniform” of her lineage. Atop her head sits a feathered headdress, the plumage being ivory and scarlet in color. An ornamental clay mask acts as the linchpin for the headdress, accented by an adornment of polished metal that rests upon her forehead. Similar feather and clay adornments cover her right shoulder and forearm, though the forearm cover appears reminiscent of a clawed beast’s hand. Both aforementioned adornments, however, bear softly glowing glyphs that seem to correspond with Angeni’s spiritual power. A free-flowing halter top of beige cloth and a matching sari complete the outfit, complimented by the furred boots and wristband on her left wrist.
Positive Traits
COMPASSIONATE
”Everyone deserves to be loved and treated with kindness. We cannot and should not judge others based on appearance, we do not know the hardships they have endured thus far.”
Even at a young age, Angeni has always had a kind heart for others and sympathetic towards their plight. Whenever it is possible for her to do so, Angeni is quick to offer words of comfort and her assistance to those who are suffering around her. She does her best to ease the worries and pain of others, in turn leading her to have a great deal of allies.
FORGIVING
”It doesn’t matter what they have done. Everyone deserves a chance to change their ways.”
Perhaps one of Angeni’s more endearing traits, she is incredibly forgiving of those around her. Regardless of how severe their transgression, she will without fail forgive those who have wronged her or her allies. Going even further, she will often even offer assistance in helping the transgressor rectify their ways and make up for their actions.
GRACIOUS
”If I may, let me help you. If there is any way I can assist you or if there is something that I may give you to ease your burden, please let me know.”
Angeni is, as experienced by others, an incredibly giving person. She has no issue with doing whatever is in her capabilities to help someone less fortunate than herself. Even if they aren’t less fortunate than her, she is still willing to help them wholeheartedly to ensure that they have a pleasant experience in whatever they are doing. If she is able to do even the smallest thing for a person, she sees it as a great accomplishment.
OPTIMISTIC
”Everything will be alright, things have a way of working themselves out. Even if the situation seems dire, never lose hope!”
Angeni has the astounding ability to see the good in any situation or person, regardless of any evidence to the contrary. She remains the beacon of hope for those around her, speaking inspiring words and bolstering resolve through kind actions towards them. She strives to be the one who keeps her allies uplifted and in good spirits and this definitely is the case more often than not. Her optimism has a habit of affecting the people around her and changing their outlook on situations as well.
ATTENTIVE
”Listen to the sounds of the spirits around you. Do you hear them? They are trying to guide you to the correct path.”
From a young age, between being trained to hunt and receiving training in mysticism, Angeni has always been attentive to the people and environment around her. The subtle nuances of nature, facial expressions, even the whispers of spirits attempting to commune with the living; Additionally, thanks to a constant want for more knowledge and experiences, she is always looking for the next opportunity to experience something new or learn what was previously unknown.
RESPECTFUL
”Courtesy is something that everyone should be granted. Respect others, but also respect yourself.”
Due in part to her own beliefs and also to her upbringing, Angeni treats everyone she encounters with the utmost respect. Even if she has become closely acquainted with them, she has a habit of still addressing them in a semi-formal manner. She firmly believes that respecting others shows good bearing on a person’s ancestors and family, thus she makes certain to always present herself in a respectable manner.
PATIENT
”Slow down, my friend, stop and take in your surroundings. There is much beauty to be witnessed.”
Among her family and friends and even apparent to those she has only just recently met, Angeni is known for being an incredibly patient young woman. Rarely, if ever, will she become angered or upset with others. She takes pride in seeing things through to the end, regardless of how long it may take. Though of course, because she constantly moves about and has an appetite for acquiring knowledge, her endeavors usually take a longer period of time than normal. Even still, she willingly proceeds forward when dealing with situations and people, offering an ever-present shoulder of support, as it were.
WISE
”Knowledge is an interesting thing, you can never have too much of it and can never have too little. Regardless of personal levels, everyone had the capability to reason and learn.”
A constant quest for knowledge and understanding has resulted in Angeni developing a wisdom that others have stated transcends her age. Clever and quick-witted, prophetic and wise; all of these have been used to describe Angeni. She is more than willing to share any knowledge that she has with any who are willing to learn as much as she is, often acting as a teacher of sorts to those around her. “Those who can, do; those who can’t, teach.” - Angeni tends to follow this quote rather closely, and it frequently shows in her actions.
CURIOUS
”The wonders of the world are endless. How can you not want to know more about the things you’re unfamiliar with?”
Knowledge and curiosity often go hand in hand. As such, Angeni truly embodies the knowledge-seeking spirit of those that are born under the totem of the owl. She will not hesitate to question the specifics of something that is new or foreign to her. This was actually what had resulted in her traveling to Japan and what led to her eventual membership in the Vigilance. This extends to getting to know others as well, one of her frequent activities is taking part in lighthearted interviews with others in order to learn more about them and in turn impart her own knowledge upon them should they wish to partake in it.
TRUSTWORTHY
”Your secrets and your feelings are safe with me, I will uphold a suitable standard of integrity, friend.”
Angeni operates under the firm belief that if you want to progress in life and want to be the type of person that people can rely on, you must be dependable able to be trusted. With everyone she meets, she greets them with kindness and makes sure to give them every reason to be willing to trust her. When this is accomplished, she does whatever is necessary to ensure that their trust in her is not misplaced. If she has been trusted with a personal secret, she will keep that secret between herself and the one that said secret originated from. If she is given a prized treasure to safeguard, she does everything in her abilities to keep that item safe and return it in the same condition that it was given to her. Such is the type of person that Angeni is.
INSPIRING
”You are capable of more than you give yourself credit for, friend, believe in yourself as I believe in you.”
Angeni has the uncanny ability to see the potential in others even if they do not see it in themselves. Because of this, she has a habit of wanting to speak uplifting words to others and attempt to get them to believe in themselves. Akin to what would more or less be a cheerleader, she speak words of inspiration that are meant to bolster resolve, though her soft-spoken nature tends to require her to repeat these words of confidence before the message finally hits home.
Negative Traits
NAIVE
”Oh, is that so? Well, if that’s how it must be, then I suppose I can agree to it.”
Because of her general trusting and forgiving nature, coupled with her infallible kindness, Angeni often falls victim to the exploitative methods of others looking to take advantage of her good heart. In a sense this also leads to Angeni gullibly believing most of what others tell her and it often requires unseen intervention from Chayton to divert her away from potential experiences that may negatively impact the young woman.
RESTLESS
”There is much knowledge within the world, no single place or person knows everything. You can only learn more if you seek it out.”
Being restless refers to a person’s inability to be at ease or sit still. In Angeni’s case, it is very much the latter. She has always been one that enjoys traveling and learning as much as she possibly can. Although she has the capacity to stay in one place for an extended period of time, the act of doing so tends to be against her nature. This often results in others losing track of her and causing quite a bit of inconvenience for them. By no means is it intentional...Angeni can just unfortunately be considered a slave to her thirst for knowledge.
VULNERABLE
”I’m burdened to feel the pain and sadness of others...compassion truly is a double-edged sword.”
Her compassion allows her to care for the well-being of others and work to ensure their happiness. At the same time, her compassion also makes her quite sensitive to the feelings and emotional turmoil of others. Oftentimes this can prove to be overwhelming to her and thus cause her to also become saddened by the feelings she picks up on. Random bouts of tears are usually the outcome and in some cases she even becomes suitably depressed for a short time, requiring some time to regain control of over her emotions.
TIMID
”Don’t be angry with me...I’m trying my best. And...please refrain from yelling…”
In line with her very noticeable vulnerability, Angeni is also quite shy and timid. Even on first encounters, Angeni tends to be shy and reserved. She becomes uneasy around people who scream and/or yell often and doesn’t handle it particularly well when others become angry with her. Even still, she tries her best to overcome this weakness and become a stronger-willed woman.
MEDDLESOME
”I’m interested in how this works. If you have a moment, perhaps I could try it out?”
Just as much as her curiosity is a virtue, it is also a vice of hers. Angeni’s journey for knowledge is so great that she tends to unknowingly put herself in situations that she shouldn’t be in or that are perhaps not conducive to her well-being. While she may believe she is simply being curious and wanting to learn something, others may perhaps believe it is an unwanted intrusion. This has happened on numerous occasions, generally resulting in Angeni being on the receiving end of a great deal of chastisement from the opposing person or even entire group.
Neutral Traits
WHIMSICAL
”Hey, here! Let’s play a game! It’s fine if you don’t know how, I’ll show you!”
Angeni has always been known as a playful and generally jovial young woman by her friends and family. She has a knack for drawing the childish nature out of those around her and involving them in her merriment, much to their reluctant to admit delight. She has been known to spontaneously take part in various childhood games, ranging from tag and hide and seek to more traditional variations of Native American games. All in all, it’s safe to say that Angeni is very attuned to her inner child and is quite happy with that.
SOFTSPOKEN
”There’s no need for me to speak loudly, you can hear me just fine as I am now, yes?”
From childhood, Angeni has always been a gentle soul. It is an incredibly rare occurrence for her to raise her voice above the melodic hymn that it always resides at, thus she has garnered a reputation for being a docile-toned sweetheart among her friends, colleagues, and family. Even when others are speaking in raucous tones, Angeni will retain her gentle cadence and simply await for the appropriate moment to speak.
MATERNAL
”Please friends, don’t overwork yourselves, just rest. I will take care of you.”
Whether it is a byproduct of being trained to be a medicine woman or simply part of her nature is uncertain, but Angeni has been shown to be an instinctually kind and affectionate young woman. She cares for her allies and strangers alike with a motherly affection, genuinely being concerned for their well-being. Caring for others genuinely brings her happiness, and if she can be the reason someone is in good health and enjoying their day, it makes it that much more worthwhile for her.
NONCOMPETITIVE
”If you’ve won then so be it. Whether or not you’ve deserved the victory is not my place to say.”
Angeni is not very particular on competition, thus she tends not to be very argumentative. She very rarely takes part in debates or questions the outcomes of some situations, often going out of her way to avoid being put in these types of scenarios. If she does, however, find herself inadvertently in a confrontation of this sort, she will not argue with the results, instead commending the victors on their efforts and keeping any reservations she has to herself.
ENIGMATIC
”A riddle, a riddle, everything can be questioned with a riddle. Would you care to hear one?”
Delving further into her inner child, Angeni enjoys facing others with cryptic messages and riddles. From her point of view, she sees it as testing the cleverness of her allies, though it is usually done in good nature. She is not above giving strangers and opponents riddles as well in an attempt to confound them...or perhaps simply to see if they’re able to solve them and test their cunning as well. It is difficult to tell the difference with her, and she has thus far not made any attempt to clarify that.
Practices:
- Herbalism- From adolescence until recent years, Angeni has been extensively trained in the practice of herbology. Groomed to become an accomplished medicine woman, Angeni is versed in a multitude of plant life and their usage in medicinal healing. Her knowledge, however, is by no means complete or perfect. Thus, she is constantly training on her own and with others to better her understanding and abilities.
- Mysticism- Mysticism comes in a variety of practices and methods. In Angeni’s case, she is versed in the practices of Native American mysticism; the belief that the living world and the spirit world exist as layers of each other that are accessed through varying degrees of reality perception. As it stands, this practice is what has allowed Angeni to be able to interact with the spiritual world that is home to the likes of beings such as the Shinigami and their mortal enemies the Hollow. Additionally, it seems that the bestial spirits of her ancestors and the guardians thereof also exist within this world, thus resulting in Angeni wanting a deeper understanding of this world and any others that may exist with and alongside it.
- Onmyoudou- Perhaps the least experienced skill she is versed in, Angeni’s knowledge on this subject has barely scratched the surface. Thanks to her tutelage from her mentor and friend Kokuou, she is learning the methods of Japanese spiritualism and how the spiritualists of this country interact with the spirit world. As with any subject, she is constantly striving to expand her knowledge in order to become more well-rounded and useful to her friends and family.
- Hand-to-Hand Combat/Weaponry- Although she takes measures not to have to utilize it, Angeni is trained in the close quarters combat tactics used by the members of her tribe. Learned under the mentorship of her elder brother Chayton, she has a passable proficiency to be able to protect herself if necessary. Upon joining the Vigilance, she further expanded her abilities with hand-to-hand combat and began to train in the martial arts and weapon practices native to Japan.
- Tracking/Hunting- A more or less common practice, Angeni is quite the capable hunter and tracker in her own right. Although she is not nearly as adept at it as her brother was or some of the other members of her family, she is versed enough to be able to track a target with relative ease. This ability has come in handy on many occasions, though she tends to only do it now out of habit and to keep her skills sharp in the chance that she may need them.
Quirks: When she becomes closely acquainted with someone, she has a habit of calling her friends by familial titles followed by their first names. Most often, this is exhibited when she calls her male friends “Brother” and her female friends “Sister.” In line with this, Angeni also refers her seniors as “Elder” followed by their surname. Unfortunately, he has a bad habit of misjudging the ages of some people she refers to as “Elder”, which usually results in a fair amount of embarrassment on her end.

KOKUOU MUNASHII
”My teacher and friend. I will be forever grateful for his tutelage...even if he occasionally says things that confound me.”
Upon first arriving in Japan, Angeni was completely unaware of how the spirit world functioned in this part of the world. Constantly in pursuit of knowledge, Angeni eventually ran into the onmyouji known as Kokuou Munashii. The fact that they were both spiritualists in a sense proved to be common ground and was what had became the reason they would be acquainted with one another. Initially their relationship was simply based on the fact that he taught her about the spiritual world within Japan, though as time passed the two would become not only teacher and student, but also friends. It was also through Kokuou that she was introduced to The Vigilance, a group of individuals with similar abilities to their own who had created the admirable purpose of protecting the world from the threats posed by the spiritual world. Even in spite of being a recruit within The Vigilance, she continues to seek tutelage from Kokuou and they have remained friends until this day.
ADIMUS
”An exceptional and benevolent leader. Still...he can be rather overbearing at times.”
Angeni and Adimus’ initial meeting was on rather formal pretenses. During one of the many training sessions between Kokuou and herself, Kokuou informed her of the group that he often assisted in their task of protecting the world from otherworldly threats. This new information intrigued Angeni, even more so because she also learned that the group actually had a base location located in America. Always intent on learning more about the spirit world and the world as a whole, Angeni requested a possible meeting with the leader of this special group. A few days later, at the headquarters located in Karakura Town, Angeni met the man known as Adimus. She was immediately taken aback by the man’s imposing presence, awestruck by the spiritual aura that emanated from him. Despite this, he seemed to be a genuinely kind person. After a timid introduction of herself, Angeni made an uncharacteristically bold request and asked if she could be allowed to join The Vigilance. Her request was accepted, much to her delight, and she became a recruit of The Vigilance. Over time, Angeni bore witness to Adimus’ various feats of heroism, both those covered by the media and the more obscure ones only known of via Vigilance word of mouth. These feats became a driving force for her and she strived to make both Kokuou and Adimus proud through her service in The Vigilance.
THE VIGILANCE
”They allowed me entry into their group. I do greatly appreciate the opportunity, even if there are some moments when our ideals collide.”
The benevolent group that Angeni has only recently become a member of. She is quite fond of each of the members in general, though there are some moments when the actions performed by some of the more senior members clash with her own ideals. Even still she cherishes her friendship with each of them, wholeheartedly caring for their well-being and thinking of them as close to family as any.
KOKORO YAMANE
”That adorable and loveable little spirit child. I’ve never seen someone so full of happiness and good cheer. He really is a sweet little one that I consider myself fortunate to know.”
Perhaps one of the first people she encountered upon joining, Angeni was instantly enchanted by the adorable little child known as Kokoro or, as many people and the child himself called him, KonKon. His cheerful demeanor seemed to be contagious and capable of putting anyone in a good mood, thus Angeni tends to gravitate towards him more than anyone else. She enjoys spending time with the boy, his true nature has been a point of curious intrigue for her. She considers herself fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to know him, seeing him as both a good friend and caring for him in an elder sister sense. She tends to alternate between endearingly calling him KonKon and “spirit child.”
CHAYTON NASCHA
”My elder brother. He was my guardian in life and continues to do so as a spirit guide. I’m still unsure why he has chosen the animal he has for his ethereal form.”
Chayton was a very loving and kind elder brother. He was quite protective of Angeni as they grew up and always put her happiness above all else. He was also the one responsible for teaching Angeni the art of mysticism and also how to defend herself. For this, Angeni was exceedingly grateful to him. The two spent a great deal of time together, whether it be during her training to become a mystic and medicine woman or in general leisure time. And while Chayton treated Angeni and the other members of their tribe with kindness and respect, he had a habit of being rather aloof and zealous towards outsiders. A penchant for violence led to him making a fair deal of enemies. Unfortunately, because of this, Chayon met an untimely end by an enemy’s vengeance. Even in spite of his death, Chayton continued to believe he would be required to watch over and protect his little sister. While in most cases this stubborn attachment would lead to hollowfication, Chayton instead became Angeni’s spirit guide due to a ritual performed by the elders of their tribe. Although Angeni appreciates his guidance, their differing beliefs cause them to clash at times.
Mortal Power: Spirit Manifestation (Mixed Power)- Stemming from the practice of Native American mysticism, Angeni’s mortal power allows her to interact with the spirit world in a variety of ways. The most prolific method being that she is capable of viewing, interacting, and communing with the spirits that inhabit the world parallel to the mortal world. Alongside this natural ability, thanks in part to her own practice and the tutelage she received via membership in The Vigilance and friendship with Kokuou, Angeni is capable of manipulating and molding the spiritual energy that flows through the world to suit her needs. She is capable of breaking down and restructuring spiritual power into other forms, whether it be for offensive or defensive purposes, and even calling forth spectral combatants to fight alongside herself and allies.
The Spirit Owl Hatches
On a pleasant winter evening beneath a clear and starry sky, Angeni was born from the union of Cheveyo and Luyu Nascha. Already gifted with a capable hunter and warrior in the form of their eldest son Chayton, the proud parents were ecstatic when they were blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Their settlement was alive with chatter over the girl’s birth. Whispers of good fortune and a prosperous future were foretold for the child, it wasn’t often that a child was born with such a pleasant smile upon their face. It was fairly common for neighbors to be present at the births of new children, and Angeni’s birth was no exception. It seemed even the spirits had been in favor of Angeni’s birth, as several of the elders of their settlement claimed to have felt a certain divinity and mysticism about the child. With this knowledge in mind, the new parents were approached with the suggestion that when the child came of age, she was trained to become a mystic herself. There was some apprehension, as expected, but the parents ultimately agreed to the elders’ request.
Angeni’s infancy and childhood were a pleasant one. Although she was quite often doted upon by her parents, they made sure not to allow her to become too dependent on such things. Instead, they found a proper balance that allowed her to know that not everything would be given to her without suitable hard work. She was an incredibly sweet and playful little girl, becoming well-liked by both the other children as well as the adults. Because of her caring nature and childish naivety, her elder brother did what most any older brother would do and kept a protective watch over Angeni. Initially she was oblivious as to the reasoning behind Chayton’s protectiveness over her, though eventually her father explained it to her and she happily accepted her brother’s concern over her. During her elementary school years, it became apparent that Angeni was not only a well-liked child, but also incredibly bright. Daily her parents would receive notes or visits commending Angeni on being such a good student. By the end of her 8th grade year, she had also began to show a knack for herbology and medicinal remedies.
As time continued to pass, Angeni began to blossom into a beautiful young woman. On the day of her sixteenth birthday, Angeni had began her training to become a medicine woman. There was some speculation about how she would be able to balance said training and high school, but Angeni quickly quelled those concerns through her actions. Not only did she still manage to properly train as a medicine woman, but she also excelled in her studies, maintaining her position on the honor roll consistently throughout her high school career. Within two years time, Angeni had established herself among the more skilled herbology and medicinal remedy practitioners in the settlement. It was no surprise that she had also become quite a popular young woman among the younger males of her peer group, much to Chayton’s chagrin. Because of this, Chayton had began to teach Angeni how to properly defend herself. She was grateful for the time they spent together and even more appreciative of the lessons she received….even if she secretly had no intention of using the knowledge she was receiving. Even still, she managed to keep a good balance of schooling, training, and a social life.
The Spirit Owl Awakens
Upon the conclusion of her senior year in high school, Angeni began to exhibit signs of being spiritually aware. On many occasions either her parents or Chayton would witness her communing with unseen conversation partners or chanting meditatively. It wasn’t until one of the elders witnessed this for himself, however, that it was suggested that Angeni compound her medicine woman training by training to become a mystic as well. Always willing to learn more, Angeni immediately agreed. As Angeni began her mystic’s training, it seemed that her brother Chayton had chosen a much different path. There was no question that he remained kind and loyal to his people, but Angeni began to notice a certain hostility towards those he considered foreigners. Whereas Angeni was more likely to use kindness and words to solve situations, Chayton leaned more towards violence. Naturally, this extreme divergence between their ideals caused friction in the sibling’s relationship. Regardless of how zealous Chayton was in his actions, however, Angeni remained hopeful that he would change and still loved her elder brother dearly.
Just one year had passed since Angeni began her mysticism training, and already she had shown signs of advancing rapidly. It was also around this time that her brother had left the reservation on what he had simply called “personal business.” It seemed that only Angeni worried for her brother’s safety, as their parents hadn’t even bothered to bid him farewell. She did not allow herself to be distract her from her training, instead focusing even more on succeeding so that she would be able to aid her brother. Unfortunately, that day would never come...at least while Chayton was among the living. During one of her now commonplace moments of meditation, she was visited by the spirit of her brother. Naively believing that she was awake and he had returned, She reached out to hug him, only to find that not only could she not actually move, but that he had not returned in the capacity that she had hoped.
Listening on in dismay, Angeni learned that Chayton had met his end during his trip at the hands of someone he had wronged over the years. A deserving victim of revenge, as he put it. The news of his death devastated Angeni. He apologized for leaving her and promised that he would continue to watch over her as best as he could, but she knew that it would be unlikely in his current state. Distraught and unsure of what she could do, she consulted the reservation elders. Initially the elders were adamant in telling Angeni that nothing could be done for Chayton, but she continued to insist that they try. Eventually one of them suggested a spirit binding; converting Chayton’s wayward spirit into a guide for Angeni. Eager to be reunited with her brother, she agreed. The ritual took place over a period of three hours, pushing Angeni to her limit spiritually and mentally. The ritual turned out to be a success and Chayton was left to decide what type of form he would take in order to guide Angeni. He decided upon a white lion and thus became her guide.
Fly Free, Spirit Owl
Having completed the ritual to gain Chayton as a spirit guide, life for Angeni became that much more interesting. She continued to hone her abilities as a mystic and herbologist. Soon, however, she began to wonder about the spiritualistic practices of other places in the world. Through research over the internet and news reports in the media, she learned that she was not alone. There were others in the world that also had abilities similar to her own. It seemed that the largest concentration of these spiritually gifted individuals resided in the east, on the island of Japan. Armed with this knowledge, Angeni decided that she would travel to Japan and seek to learn from one or more of these people. Her parents were pleasantly receptive to the idea, much to Angeni’s delight. They had even agreed to pay for her travel expenses. After bidding farewell to her friends and family on the reservation, Angeni traveled to Tuscon, Arizona before boarding her flight to Japan. Over the course of a fifteen hour flight, Angeni spent the time alternating between idly conversing with the other passengers, sleeping, or reading through her herbology books.
Nearly half a day later and undoubtedly suffering from a fair amount of jet lag, Angeni chose to first rest and recover at her hotel before continuing her travels to the town of Karakura. A suitable day’s rest had been enough for her. Renting a car, she began the long drive to the neighboring town of Karakura, which she had learned functioned as a spiritual hub for Japan. Her expectations of the town’s architecture fell short of their actual appearance, however. To her surprise, much of the city appeared to be under construction. Upon asking one of the local residents, she learned that there had been an apparent terrorist attack that had leveled much of the city. Chayton, on the other hand, did not seem satisfied with this answer. There was more to it than simply a "terrorist attack." Thus, the pair of siblings had decided to seek out one of the many spiritualists that supposedly inhabited the city.
Six months time passed without very much luck. During this time, she had began to work at a local pharmacy to support herself. At the start of the seventh month it seemed that their luck had changed. While visiting a local cafe for lunch, Angeni met a powerful onmyouji by the name of Kokuou Munashii. From him, she learned that the reputed terrorist attack had not been what it seemed, and rather had been caused by spiritual being known as an Arrancar, specifically one named Alter Tova. As the two continued to converse, Angeni learned that they had quite a bit in common. Still intent on learning about Japanese spiritualism, the young tourist proposed an idea to Kokuou; she wished to study onmyoudou under him. He agreed and thus Angeni began her tutelage under him.
Over the next three years, Angeni further developed her abilities as a mystic. Under Kokuou’s mentorship, Angeni even began to learn how to manipulate the spiritual essence that flowed through all things; a type of phantasmal energy known as Reiatsu. Eventually, she became able to utilize the spiritual particles in a multitude of ways, even discovering a way to give the numerous spiritual guardians of her ancestors physical form. Slowly but surely, she continued to develop into a capable mystic and spiritualist. Eventually, during her second year in Karakura, she learned of a heroic group of individuals that made their headquarters within the town; Vigilance. Eager to learn more about the group and perhaps gain membership, Angeni asked Kokuou to introduce her to the group’s leader. It was at this meeting that she met Adimus. After recovering from her initial awe at the man’s imposing disposition, she asked if it would be possible for her to join them. To her delight, Adimus agreed to allow her entry and she began her life as a recruit in the Vigilance, a position she continues to hold to this very day.

An earthy aroma of incense wafted through the air. Coral illumination from the candlelight danced upon the walls of the dimly lit room, creating a shadow puppetry with each wavering flicker. A second, less pleasant scent invaded the subtle herbal aroma. It was a well-known scent to those who saw frequent combat; the organic copper and iron scent of blood. Upon the small bed lay a writhing elderly man, beside himself with pain. Slender fingers proceeded with controlled meticulousness as wounds were cleansed, sterilized, mended. The young woman beside the bed paused in her efforts. A forearm wiped away the film of perspiration upon her brow. Time was of the essence, she would need to employ precision and skill to save this man from his injuries.
Can I really do it? Even if I don’t believe...I must try.”
Herbal antiseptic, cloth bandages, needle and thread. Her work was tiring, but she nonetheless continued. A friend, an elder of hers, was in trouble and needed her help. If she was capable of doing something, why wouldn’t she? The scent of blood became less stifling with each passing moment. Slowly but surely, the man began to settle down and his breathing became less sporadic. Beyond all of the doubt she had, she had succeeded in mending his wounds and keeping him alive. A satisfied smile adorned the beautiful visage of the diligent young woman. Hushed breath whispered from her lips, a sigh of equal parts relief and fatigue. Her smile portrayed her feelings as a gentle hand rested upon the bandaged chest of her patient.
”You’ll be fine now, Elder Littlestone. I don’t advise anymore hunting for the time being, however, you should rest and recover your strength.” She instructed while gathering her medical supplies. Aged eyes opened a small fraction and a weak smile curled the senior’s lips. A grateful hand grasped at hers, a firm but gentle squeeze gathering her attention once again.
“The spirits were kind to deliver such a sweet young woman to us. Thank you, Angie.” A wizened voice spoke his appreciation. The young woman returned the smile fully, gently placing her own hand over the elder’s.
Angeni Nascha; a medicine woman, a mystic, but most of all, a friend.
