Shitty cellphone pic because I'm too lazy to get the camera.
Usually my macbook sits where that book I'm using for Kionchi's app is. But its getting a new keyboard.
The mat under the keyboard switches periodically from my lesser used pile of playmats. I haven't changed my wallpaper since psycho pass season 2 started...sadness.
At least I still have my framed collection of booster packs.
Pretty simple setup. The only thing 'high-tech' about it is my gaming mouse. The rig itself was free, a guildmate of mine in Kentucky built it and sent it to me all the way out here in Texas. He's the real MVP.
EDIT: Don't... Don't mind the Halo 3 poster. That was a loooong time ago.
why do you have a bird house on your desk, TK? D: xD
Its actually a cricket cage. I used to keep my headphones on them but since moving to a villa I've found I'm using them way more often than I used too. There's not as many crickets/grasshoppers here in the lowcountry as there were in California, though...so its intended usage is just as decoration and to hide the chords a bit between my TV and computer, like this: (Older pic)
If you turn clockwise in my room you'll see my second bookshelf full of LPs and magic the gathering binders:
And finally if you turn completely around you'll come to my bed, which is where I watch stuff when I feel like watching on that bigger screen the cricket cage holds down the wires for:

I would have a photo, but its normally the same as Zeke XD I have no single spot for my laptop, it continues to move between my man cave living room to my man cave bedroom on a daily basis.
Personalization of personal space, to make something familiar and comfy to them. If anything, a lack of decorations is still a decorating choice and makes your space more unique to you.
I decorate largely as appreciation for the gifts I've been given. They remind me of the people I love so much and make me happy.
I tend to limit myself to 4~6 decorations at a time. Most of the clutter in my room is tabletop gaming accessories.
The framed assortment of booster packs is entirely decorative made by me to show off my collection. It does inspire me quite a bit when I look up and remember all the fun times I've had playing the game and enjoying its stories over the years.
The Kimono is a bit shameless: it was less of a surprise gift and more of a graduation gift, but I keep it up because I think its very pretty. It matches the crane motif on that chair I was given when I moved to South Carolina and its my most expensive piece of clothing. I mean they are supposed to be stored that way but it could be put in an airtight bag and stuffed away in some box I guess. I use the same crane motif with that parasol. I've been tempted to make-up my binders in that shelf to have some big image over them when they are put in proper order but maybe this summer.
Decorating can go over the top for sure. My old roommate used to keep tons of "Sabers" from FSN all over his room. It was a cluttery mess.
Y-yeah he was a really creepy roommate. Tons of statues of saber everywhere. And after he moved out he left some woman's shoes and XXL sized panties in his closet. He's never had a girlfriend in the 8 years he rented the room so...
But he paid the rent on time and slept from like 10 am until 8 pm because he worked the graveyard shift. So he never really bothered us.
I figure there are three types of people on the internet:
Those who just got access to it. Those who know of the more sordid shit there. And those who lie about what they know when in reality they'll roll their eyes just as readily at the same *chan/sankaku/IRC/whatever memes/puns as you do.
