A quick recap of our fun today, everyone.
Bleach Gotei runs on the software Invision Power Board v3.4.7 (soon to upgrade to 3.4.8). This software includes an instance of mySQL, which is a form of database used to store everything from posts to usernames to passwords.
One of our tables in that database, ipbtopic_views, broke and resulted in a lot of very odd behavior regarding topics being seen as posted in and updating accordingly. For a while there the BG Radio thread didn't know it had two pages and that caused all sorts of difficulties.
I've managed to solve this problem.
Now, I will ask that you all please hold on to your posts for the next couple of days. The last thing I need is another table going up in smoke and you losing content. I'd recommend saving them either on your local machine or by using a cloud service such as Google Drive or One Drive.
For the more technical among us: I'm actually not sure what happened with that table. There's a huge SQL Error Log in the ACP about the event. For some reason or another the table insisted it didn't exist but still did show up in our table structure when viewed through phpMyAdmin. I'm not a Database Administrator, though, so maybe that's normal. I have no idea what happened with this table but apparently this sort of thing has happened before with php-based forums like ours.
I'll see what I can find out but, until then, we're back.
On top of saving the posts you'll be making for the next few days I would also ask that you guys post, furiously, in any threads that seem affected by this strangeness. If you have any threads that won't open for you, for instance, please do let us know and we'll try to resurrect it.
Hilariously, all I had to do to fix BG Radio was post in it. That made the board look at it and go "Oh, hey, I should make a second page to display all of these extra posts I've collected". Other threads should be the same if they're broken at all.
Thanks again for reading and bearing with us, everyone!
