Where was he, it was similar to a place he had been long ago. This life time, another? It was hard to say when everything seemingly ran into one another allowing for it to all be the same and yet so different. Sometimes it was his life and other times it was his yet not his, another his or maybe hers. A new perspective and it was still difficult to understand it all as it was all forced on him so suddenly.
He was in a tower somewhere, somewhere there was light and beings similar to something he had been. Similar and yet different, one walking backwards while the other walked forward. Maybe somewhere in the middle they would meet and a neutral life would be born. It was a thought experiment and maybe if there had been more time, sacrifices could have been made to see the progress and maybe a new type of life could have been born.
Unfortunatly time was not on his side, the one fault of being able to grasp the threads on the woven pattern that was life. Grasping your own thread and looking where it was woven gave you a sobering dose of reality where your life would end. The shorter the life the brighter it seemed to burn they always said.
Footsteps, coming up the stairs and bringing the one he sought closer. It was only a matter of time before they would find themselves seeing if he flexible or if he was rigid and he would snap from being shown something special. Destiny or fate the embodiment of what it was all about, was it possible to escape from such a design that was set for you or was it impossible once the thread was woven in the tapestry. Was it only a matter of how planned out your path was and how locked into certain ever you were?
He no longer knew what the answer was, it was as if being shown the tools he only realized how little he really knew about it all. To have his eyes opened and only really understand that he had been so blind before. Only a short time to experience and grow, become more than a bumbling child and maybe do something good with what he would learn.
The door opened and he saw the man standing in the frame. It seemed he was slightly shocked to see him there in the tower. "Your back, finally. I was wondering if I had done this wrong, it's much more difficult than it seems at first. Like looking in front of and behind oneself at the same time, but it doesn't take much to figure it out. The trick is to do it now and before, which probably makes little to no sense now. I'm sure you might have an idea of what I mean later."
Waiting for the reaction seemingly took eons, maybe it was just his mind working faster and better before. It had to, to be able to be here and there both. It was not at the same time externally, but internally it was. Trying to occupy two places at two times with the same body, the fact it was not only possible but seemingly trivial was exhilarating. There was so much he could do with such a short time and there was only more he could imagine he could do with such a feat. There was probably more that he could still learn. It was the beginning of the end and yet the short time frame would be equivalent to eons and multiple lifetimes.
