Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
Kyousuke Tsukimiya, known and beloved, is no more.
In his place: Knowledge, a man who seeks to learn everything he possibly can. Devoid of any memory of his former self, the only thing Knowledge sees when he looks inward is the vastness of the cosmos and all of the secrets it still holds.
The road to the man whose eyes light up with shooting stars has been a long one. Longer than any other Transcendental to ever rise on Bleach Gotei.
The story of Kyousuke Tsukimiya, in fact, predates even my own. He joined a very different Bleach Gotei back on December 17th, 2010. Since then, he's made quite the name for himself.
Though not entirely the kind you'd expect.
As is now famous, Kyousuke the player was a big part of every major shift in dynamic around Bleach Gotei until September 2012. But his contributions have been more than the disruptive sort: he has had a hand in every rules thread, concept, and idea that we now use. Much of our previous, heavy mechanical system was initially created with his help and iterated on from there. Even how we tag our threads, still used today, come directly from him (because we know my design sense leaves a lot to be desired).
Although at times not the most popular of players, Kyousuke Tsukimiya has left Bleach Gotei a richer place.
Enough about that loser now.
Much more consistently enjoyable than the player is his character (unless you were a Hollow in the Invasion). Kyousuke Tsukimiya started as a mere member of the Fourth Division, a rather bland and one-dimensional creation at the time. He had little connection to his feelings, or himself in any way, and was interested only in learning. Fourth, then, was equally perfect and terrible a fit.
Eventually, this desire to learn stemmed into disdain for how difficult the Gotei of 2010 made this. Red tape on red tape, a Central 46 that did more harm than good, and a slew of poor leaders. In turn, Kyousuke Tsukimiya faked his own death and abandoned Seireitei and his post along with it.
This single decision forever changed the course of history.
In turn, Kyousuke ingratiated himself with the authority of Hueco Mundo in order to become a resident of Las Noches. From there, the fated meeting of Kyousuke and Tova took place, resulting in the creation of Bleach Gotei's first Vaizard. He went on to walk worlds, become a detainee in the Maggot's Nest, move up to Captain of the Second in a single stroke, and at his peak even became the momentary Captain Commander before retiring away from the mess of it all.
Along the way?
He became the Swordbreaker, known for his kill streak in Hueco Mundo during the Invasion.
He brought in Alter Tova, the single most destructive force in Bleach Gotei history.
He set the bar for worldwalking and alternate universes in Bleach Gotei lore.
He even, through some cruel twist of fate, found family in Mitsutaka Karahashi, Lessa Kachekiwa, and even Tova Diabló.
In the history of our community, our world, Kyousuke Tsukimiya is and was a defining personality.
And now he's gone and become something more.
Truth paid for control of reality with his ability to control what others believed.
Wishes can make desire manifest in return for his own wish not being fulfilled.
Now we have Knowledge, a man who has traded his identity, memories, and entire sense of self in exchange for the cosmos and the ability to learn all of its secrets.
Kyousuke Tsukimiya, then, is truly no more. The book has closed.
So allow me to be among the first to say it, to an old friend and close collaborater.
Congratulations, Knowledge.
You are the Fourth Transcendental.
