The world had changed much since Emily last visited Earth. It wasn't like she ever felt like she belonged somewhere, but the feeling of alienation crawled up on her back when she made her trip to Earth. Not that it was more peaceful now, far from it! In fact, it seemed like even mere humans, those useless husks of flesh and blood, now carried spiritual abilities. Not only was Hueco Mundo a safer place for her, she also enjoyed the fresh air. Her reiatsu, it seemed, was aligned with that of Hueco Mundo. It made her feel refreshed, so to speak. The girl hadn't even been on Earth for a week and she already decided to go back to that damned desert.
Emily stood up from the mossy rock she had been sitting on to overlook the ocean. It was rather pretty, the forest running over the cliffs gave a nice shade while staring at the ocean spanning out in front of them. The waves clashing against the rocky cliffs were rather soothing, especially with the calm ambience of the forest. It had been a crazy week, and this rest was well deserved. She took a few minutes to appreciate nature's beauty one last time before heading off.
It wasn't long before Emily had found herself in an open field somewhere in the middle of the forest. A perfect spot for opening a Garganta, Emily thought to herself. With all the trees growing about it was hard to find room for such a gateway. Sure, she could fly up and do it in the air, but Emily enjoyed nature and would take any excuse to stay just a bit longer. With her right hand, she ripped open a Garganta with a decisive swing, immediately followed by the wind of reishi blowing through like it had done every single time. It wasn't something new for Emily, and she had already prepared herself by creating footholds using the reishi at her feet, something she hadn't quite mastered yet but knew the basics of to allow travel through this pathway.
Hueco Mundo. An endless desert covered in endless night. The crescent moon slowly making its way around but never changing. For most it would be what was considered 'hell'. Not for Emily. The reishi in the air was like a breeze of fresh air, and she could already feel her energy levels rising. "Refreshing.", she muttered to herself. Pathetic. On her own for such a short time and already talking to herself. She slowly descended to the ground and planted her feet on the white sand. No hollows in sight. Of course there weren't, they would be hiding in the thickets of the forest below this damned desert. This was arrancar territory, and Emily wasn't sure if that was something to be proud of or not. Of course, this didn't mean that hollow never emerged from the sands, it was simply no common occurrence. Those who did, after all, would be hunted down and consumed by the hungry. Ironic. She had just been thinking about that exact thing when she could hear the maniacal laughter of a man having too much fun in the distance. Someone was having fun hunting down their prey. She set off to the origin of the laughter, leaving only footsteps in her wake.
The source of the laughter was a tall man with no lack of well-defined muscles. His blue hair was perhaps his most noticeable feature, however. Spiked up, it resembled much of a fireball from the distance. Quite a funny sight. From where Emily stood, she could only vaguely make out the hollow he was chasing. Fast, they were. Lean, too. Almost gazelle like except for the monstrously long bones sticking out from their back. It was odd, couldn't the arrancar catch up to them physically, or were they really that fast? Even from where she stood she could tell that this man was brimming with reiatsu, he was strong, no doubt. Oddly enough, that was also all that she could read. Regardless, Emily decided to help him out a little.
Placing a hand on her zanpakuto, she stared at the predicted route of the two desperate hollows. They were headed straight for a little cave, one most likely leading to the underground forest. Perfect. That's where she would strike. A short burst of concentration was enough. A portal ripped its way through the condensed reishi in front of the cave entrance, the other was placed in the same fashion. The portals were near invisible, and given that they were in a hurry, it would be hard for the two to notice the gateway. The portals were set up in such a manner that, were they to indeed run into it, they would simply be running towards their predator instead.
It didn't take long for this to happen, and although confused, the blue-haired man jumped on them and finished them swiftly. Emily was rather proud, but she wouldn't let this show. It wouldn't be fair to leave the man in the dark, would it? The girl paced over to the scene and stood a few feet away from him. "Couldn't do it alone, then?", she said in sarcastic fashion. Her facial expression revealed that she was somewhat unimpressed by this man's ability to hunt, despite knowing that she herself was much weaker than the man she stood in front of.
