X had recently taken on the Alias of Heaven, in correlation to the meaning of the word in the Japanese language. She had partaken in daily living for once, attempting to pay for her things in a normal fashion. She had performed crimes in the past to feed herself, but it drew attention way too quickly to her. Such things were problematic for her. She needed to blend in, and causing problems within the cities only brought the Enforcers that much closer to her heels.
"Hey, hey! Are you alright?" X had forgotten she was to be playing a human role. Human emotion was complex, and involved forcing her body to do things it normally wouldn't do. Which to say the least, was extremely uncomfortable. Speaking in manners she normally would not, but she imagined that it would be problematic to be so detached. Forging bonds, even illusionary ones were necessary to curve suspicion and raise her likability. But for any one of these humans, she would trade their life away for sandwich. Cruel, but no one's survival was above her own. And now it was time for the performance of a lifetime, something that she had practiced over and over again, with the ability of a Award Winning Actress.
"How can I be alright...you twit...why do I have to wear this kind of outfit?" The color rose in X's cheeks as she pulled on the collar of french maid's outfit. She was working as a waitress in a rather shady open bar. It seemed that the activities of criminals happened here often, so in hiring her they assumed she was a Lolita, a sexually precocious young girl. However, X was far older than she appeared. However, she doubted that her body was capable of bearing a child. The concept of bearing children never crossed her mind as an option. Based on her body size and structure, she had a 23% chance of surviving labor. Even with advanced medical technology of today.
X had been living with the man who spoke to her for the past three months. His name was Lin. He had set her up with this job, as most establishments would not hire a child. These two went at it about the outfit she was made to wear while working, and with a few chimes of the owner she gave in. Not that she truly cared, but to make the appearance showed she wasn't open to everything and was still "innocent.""Back to the topic," Lin interrupted the conversation. "For you to take initiative and mingle with the society...it doesn't seem like your style, Ten" X looked at him, he had no idea how right he was. She hated humans for the vast majority of things. They smelled of emotion, it poured from every orifice of their body. "It's all just a whim, besides it's too boring to stay in the house all day. My bones are getting stiff..." She rubbed the back of her neck. Her bones were stiff from the lack of use, not the lack of movement. She needed to kill and use her power, but living like this greatly hindered that freedom. She heard the shuffle of footsteps.
She turned to greet the new customer, but recognized the pressed suit and insignia on his lapel. He was an Enforcer. Asian decent, 6'3, possibly 174 pounds, long black hair tied back in a ponytail and soft olive colored iris'. ""Well, doesn't it look more like a girl." He smiled as he pulled out a chair and sat down. "Give me a cup of Mandheling Coffee. It's better for uplifting my spirits. So that at any time I can scrutinize all the...fellows around you." X wondered how the hell did this man manage to find her all the way out here. She was sure she burned her tracks back in Okinawa when she fled. She leaned in close enough to him, apparently showing her pad to the man to verify the spelling of the word Mandheling.
"If you dare to disrupt my path, I will be forced to end your meaningless existence. Know that you hold no reflection in my eyes." Her true persona slowly bleeding back to the surface. She knew if one was here, there were more in wait. This was bad situation, meaning she would not be leaving unharmed at least. "Humph...interesting. Words like these...I heard them from another persons mouth a while ago. From what the researchers said, your mental condition has been unstable for the past few months. Are you alright?"
Five meters...two men...lightly equipped by the sound of their footsteps. She hardened the bones on her hand, and slammed it against the third vertebrae of his spine; instantly killing him. She dove behind a pillar and formed a bone knife in her hand. So this was how it would begin...two meters. She would need to fight her way out and try to escape the city, if they had not already dropped a net down on it. This was probably it for her path of freedom. These people were dead regardless, no need hiding anything any longer...one meter. They stacked up behind the pillar and then spun around it, guns drawn. As the first arm came around the corner, she thrusted her palm forward, pushing the gun away. At the same time, she drove her knife between the bones of his forearm. Listening as he let loose a scream of pain. "Noisy." X muttered in an undertone.
She looped her finger into the trigger well, and ripped the gun from his grasp. Spinning the pistol until it was within her grasp, she held it to the second Enforcer's skull and pulled the trigger. Brain matter flew across the open air shop, but not just from that man. She had executed the first one in the same manner. She sat behind the pillar for a moment before she heard it. "Ten!!! Orders from above are only to retrieve you! We have no intention of taking your life!" X listened not believing that. They sent in two agents to see how she would fair, and her senses were sharp enough to take out a hundred men before she would fall. "If you cooperate, we can avoid this unnecessary violence!! You can still choose! They called loudly. Twenty meters out. Meaning they had guns at that distance. Depending on the calibur it wouldn't even effect her, but she wasn't at her full potential these days. She had dulled drastically compared to the old days. "You gotta be shittin' me. Who'd willingly go back to a hellhole like that? She dropped the magazine and checked the total rounds 12 in the magazine and one in the chamber. She thrust the magazine back in and pulled the hammer back.
FWOOSH!
The sound of a heavy object traversing through the air, it scrapped against the pillar and before her eyes a weighted ball passed. It was attached to a wire, so they meant to bind her to the pillar. She dropped down, as the wire drew tight against the pillar and the men put their entire weight into trying to hold her on the pillar. She was not fast enough. Her arm was caught at the wrist and was squeezing on it with intense pressure. All she could do was fortify her bones and think of how she could escape this predicament. She heard the approaching footsteps and a man in a dark cloak and hat walked in front of her. "It's true you did two in, but you're nothing like the rumors say. All I had to do is pull a few tricks, and it's done. Frankly, I'm disappointed. Put down your weapon. You have no more right to choose. X looked at him, her eyes calculating her situation. It wasn't in her favor. Even now the sound of feet coming towards her was not the best of things. "No, I refuse A swift foot came down on her shoulder and she winced in pain Lemme teach you a few things, you stupid bitch. When someone's got you under their thumb like this, you need to show some more respect! He began to beat her repeatedly.
She dropped the gun, to which he said finally. However, she dropped so she could snatch it up with her right hand. A guard dived in to try an grasp her hand, but she turned the barrel on him. "W-wait!" X stared at him for a second with her cold eyes, as she had already determined his fate. "No, I refuse" With that his brain was splattered across the floor. The men having seen their Guard Captain down, called an open fire. They aimed to shoot her in the limbs to keep her from escaping. She opened fired, making each of her shots count. Some instantly being fatal, while others would cause them to bleed in a few moments. She was finally loosed from the pillar. She created another knife and ran out from behind the pillar. Gun in one hand the blade in the other.
The action was fast paced and she was for a lack of a better word, riddled with bullets. But not one agent remained standing. She had created an armor just beneath her skin, but that didn't stop the bleeding from the wounds. She stumbled down an alley. Knocking over trash cans, as she attempted to make it back to her apartment. Not one person in that courtyard was alive, being that it was positioned behind a building and between three others. Many wouldn't see the outcome for some couple days, but it meant she'd need to move again. She spat out a wad of blood, and kept moving. Her bloody hand trailing the wall. She wouldn't die from this...well not if she could make it to her home.
