By popular demand, here it is! Before we get into things, I'll lay down the things I changed, as well as the rules.
Randomizer Settings:
(If you would like the premade seed so you can play along with me, let me know! And if you'd just like the randomizer I used, I can send it to you as well)
Rules:
1.) Can only catch the first Pokemon I encounter in a route
1.a.) Species/Dupes Clause: If my first encounter is a Pokemon I've already caught, or an evolution of a Pokemon I've already caught, I can choose to ignore it
1.b.) Shiny Clause: If I find a shiny, I can catch it
2.) I must nickname every Pokemon I catch (Naming theme is you guys here on BG!)
3.) If a Pokemon faints, it must be permanently boxed (aka, if they faint, they "die")
4.) I cannot level my Pokemon higher than five levels above the ace of the next gym leader (for example, for Brock I cannot have Pokemon higher than level 19)
4.a.) If a Pokemon goes above this level cap, they must be boxed until I get the next gym badge
With that out of the way, lets get into the Nuzlocke! I didn't take any screenshots until just now, so you'll just have to take my word on it up until where I stopped last night.
So, I had a pretty typical start. Named myself... Well... My name: Brianna. Gave my rival the name Samuel because the lols on Oak forgetting his own name is amazing for me. Grabbed the potion out of the PC and the recklessly dived into the grass without a Pokemon! Of course, Oak stopped me and took me to his lab. My starter options were:
Treecko, Gastly, and Chikorita.
Without knowing their typings, abilities, or moves, I really just left this up to which design I liked the best. I ended up going with Chikorita, though Treecko was a close call! So because of that, my rival got Gastly.
Turns out Chikorita (aka Jian Oreachi ) was a Normal type with the ability Poison Point. Had the move: Hyper Fang, Bullet Seed, Wish, and Camouflage. Stats were a sort of bulky sweeper with decent Attack, Sp. Def, and Speed. Not too shabby for a starter!
Gastly seemed to be some sort of Electric typing, though I couldn't be sure. He had electric type moves, which is what I'm basing that on.
Anyways, kicked Samuel's ass and then went on my way to become the best. Got the package, gave it to Oak, got my Dex, and completely ignored getting the Town Map because I don't need it. I then proceeded to get my Route 1, 2, 22, and Viridian forest encounters. These are the Pokemon I caught in order:
Fire type Teddiursa (Kireon), Grass type Eevee (Shinpei Minamoto), Ice/Psychic type Gloom (Kasumi Shinoda ), and Normal type Claydol (Munin). Not too shabby!
I grinded my team up to level 10 (except Shinpei because holy shit he's so weak) and then took on my rival for added lulz. curbstomped him and then made my way through Viridian Forest. Got my team up to level 15 (Jian up to level 16 because I wanted to evolve him) and then took on Brock.
Now, let me tell you about Brock.
He lead with a Houndour -- a Pokemon I hadn't seen before. I led with Munin. I quickly found out that it was primarily water typing as it kept using Hydro Pump. Watching it eat through Munin's HP like none other, I had to switch out into a specially defensive Pokemon. It was a toss up between Shinpei (The grass type, but had no real oomph behind his attacks to really do much in return) and Kasumi (Who had absurdly high special defense and decently high special attack). I opted to go into Kasumi. Fired off a powerful Confusion which got him into the yellow.
And then it one-shot me with a Hydro Pump.
Panic intensifies.
I retreat to my fastest Pokemon (Jian) and revenge kill with the all powerful Hyper Fang. I believe Brock's ace was a Beedrill, or something, but it died in one Hyper Fang as well, so I don't recall.
Brock gave me my TM -- Recycle -- which I promptly sold and then I went on my way. Laced up my running shoes and destroyed the trainers on route 3. Got my encounter there which was a Bug type Cyndaquil (Ladon) and then bee-lined to my encounter in Mt. Moon. Got myself a Psychic/Dark type Seel (Emily White) and then bought a Pokemon from the guy in the Pokemon Center for 500 bucks. Turned out to be a Victreebel which I appropriately named Hazuki Tsukimiya .
After getting my team up to around 15-19, I called it in for the night. This is my team where I left off:
