Tsubaki stood in the limbs of one of the many trees on the edge of her forest, or at least she considered it her forest, after having spent more than a century living in it. For a moment she stood absolutely still, listening to the sounds of the night. Above her the only lights that shone were the stars, silently watching over everything, as tonight was the night of the new moon. Eventually she moved, disappearing from the branch she was on and appearing almost instantaneously on the branches of a tree farther in the forest. She made no sounds as she jumped from branch to branch, landing lightly and leaping again without pause. After a few moments of traveling like this Tsubaki landed at the edge of the clearing of her home, her garden. Unlike most other nights her garden was bathed in a eerie purple glow rather than the normal gentle white luminescence, though the source of the light was exactly the same as it was on any other night. The flowers of the Lunar Roses scattered throughout the garden, Tsubaki's bride and joy, were tinted a deep purple and they let off the glow that filled the garden.
A smile found it's way onto Tsubaki's face as she walked through the garden, hands outstretched to meat the leaves and blooms of the plants that reached out to her, which noticeably bent to meet her her hand. Eventually she reached the house at the edge of her garden, and went inside, though instead of immediately grabbing her tools she reached for the small kettle she kept there and hung it over the fire pit in her small kitchen area. For a moment she worked with the flint and steel to light the wood in the pit, and after only a few attempts she had a respectable fire going. Afterwords she got out her teapot and cup, then retrieved a small paper packet that she unfolded to reveal a pile of Gyokuro leaves, that she then placed in the cups as she got ready to brew herself a cup before starting in on her garden.
