Karakura Town…his third day on vacation, and nearly at the end of the spending money he’d saved up, Raph was beginning to feel in dire straits. He’d had an apartment here once...but that had been furnished by Vigilance… He wondered how they were doing but not enough to go to check on them; he was just lucky that no one remembered who he was. Sure, being an acting leader had been nice while it lasted, but eventually all things had to come to an end, even something like that. His telekinesis had, after all, so why should he care enough to try and hold together an old life when an old power was gone?
No, now he was a quincy, will all of the abilities, prestige and none of the knowledge of what that meant. He literally didn’t know anything about being a quincy, besides some of the basics that Frey had shown him, and that was very little anyways. Hirenkyaku, the manipulation of reishi to form a weapon… Basics that he’d practiced on his own, though not perfected. She’d told him of the magic and had given something of a demonstration, for which he was very grateful, but he needed to learn the truly advanced abilities, unlock more of what this quincy “magic”, as he’d termed it, could do. Just something else to visit Weylin for…
Raph walked out of the hotel room and into Tokyo proper, hoping to find something interesting to do or at the very least a hollow to hunt. Yet, after probably two or so hours of wandering he began to give up on his “something interesting” and began to give in to the possibility that it would just be a normal day. Thus he began heading back towards the hotel.
He was probably about five minutes and in the middle of a crowd in Karakura Town, lost and absorbed in his own thoughts that he nearly ran into a man. Yet the man turned around in the nick of time and Raph stopped. Thousands of thoughts came screeching to a violent halt, and he had about fifty apologies on his lips but these all came to an end when he looked up and saw what he was about to apologize to. His form was human, but over his eyes was a snow white mask fragment. Immediately he was ready to fight, but there were issues that still stuck out in his mind. Why was this arrancar just walking around normally? What in the world was going on here?
“What in the hell are you doing here?! Is it not enough that your kind devours us and makes more of you? You walk among us too? Looking for weaknesses?!” He shouted pointing at the air. He heard the whispers of the people around him, talking about what a weirdo he was. Yelling at nothing wasn’t really socially acceptable anywhere, but here in Japan it was especially frowned upon. A full clearing had formed in the crowd as they had backed away to give the crazy man some space.
Calming down, and only grudgingly accepting that he needed to calm himself down, Raph approached the hollow and without looking at the man said, “Mind if we walk and talk? At least until we can find a place away from people.”
