Ah Kyoto. It was a place unlike any other to those who lived there. Nana was no exception to this rule, even if she had lived there a very long time ago. Very little had changed. The buildings were updated, but the general layout of the city was the same. The shy girl took in a deep breath as she sighed happily. It was still there, that faint smell of nature. Despite being a modern city, there were still tiny bits of places she remembered. The central area of the city, the streets..they might have been modernized, but they were still the same as they were hundreds of years ago. She kept up a small smile as she wandered through the streets of Kyoto, having temporarily forgotten about her problems. She had managed to steal away into the world of the living without being on assignment. Because of that, she didn't really have a gigai to interact with the world. That was okay by her. Being human was difficult now. She had gotten so used to her new power to make people overlook her that it would be too stressful for her to do anything without the ability.
Sure, that seemed like a bit of an overreaction. That was a given. But, Nana wasn't the type of person to want a lot of attention. She preferred to help people from the background. She had been doing it all of her life, and it just felt natural by this point. Still, she couldn't help but take in her surroundings as people unknowingly walked around her, her zanpakuto bouncing lightly on her back as she walked through the world of the living. She was glad that it was a cool day today, hot weather always made her overheat so easily. Still, it was nice to take a break. She looked up at one of the taller buildings with a growing wistful smile, her form vanishing as she used a couple consecutive Shunpo to make her way to the top of the building, shrugging Hachidori no Tsubasa off of her back as she sat on the ledge of the building, the wind blowing her hair gently away from her left eye, allowing Nana to see all of her old home.
Huh. You really think fondly of this place, don't you? A soft, feminine voice echoed inquisitively in her mind. Nana couldn't help but let off a silent chuckle as she nodded. What do you expect Hachi? This place was my home. I think that, even if I couldn't remember my life, I'd still find some kind of comfort in this place..you know? She asked, the response clearly being satisfying to the zanpakuto spirit. Nana sighed happily as she leaned back. It was nice to get away sometimes. She really did enjoy beautiful places, and none could say that the Seireitei didn't have its own brand of beauty. But..there was just something about the blend of modern buildings, nature, and older buildings that gave Kyoto its own beauty. She couldn't think of a single place that was more beautiful than Kyoto in the spring, especially with the cherry blossoms near what was once the imperial palace being in full bloom, the perfume of the petals carrying even this far away. It was relaxing. She could actually let her guard down in places like this, where nobody was looking at her.
