The click of a camera shutter broke through the soundless plain of sand, and just a moment later, a sigh escaped from the lips of the woman as she let her arm droop, the camera dropping along with it. The camera rested against her chest, and for a moment, her hand did as well before she brushed a stray strand of hair out of her eyes, narrowed slightly. That last shot hadn't been very good at all, had it? As beautiful as the endless night could be here, it got tiring eventually, especially when one was as aimless as she.
The woman let her gaze drop, examining the surrounding dunes for any potential threats or dangers before carefully letting herself fall and land on her back in a pile of the sand. Were this any other day, any other moment in history, she might be in her lab, experimenting and doing who knew what? Or she might be out and about in the Human World, just doing her best to observe and learn. Or she might even be casually talking with a Shinigami, as she had been during that whole Karakura Town event. None of those things save one held any luster for her, though, any shine.
With Las Noches the way it was now, it was far too risky to go waltzing over there just to check and see how her lab was doing. Who knew what sort of beings preyed there now? So without a way to research or experiment, what was she left to do other than find some other way to entertain herself? Photography had done the job, for a little while, but now that too had grown stale, and she was getting restless. Perhaps it truly was about time she headed back, just to see how things were?
She closed her eyes, thinking on it a few minutes before deciding against the idea. She had to be cautious about this, because as bored as she was, at least she was still alive. That was a lot more than most could say at Las Noches, and it was practically a miracle, considering her meeting with Obsession, how she had been painfully aware he could crush her in a single instant, if he so chose to.
When did her life get so screwed up...? Well, that wasn't entirely a fair question to ask herself. After all, it wasn't as if her life had been perfect before all the supernatural events, had it? With everything she had done, her life had never really been normal, and now that she had no way to entertain herself...hmm, perhaps she SHOULD try something normal, then? She had had some success on creating Gigais, much like ones she had learned a former Espada had also made, but to give them a test run now was probably a bit risky, with things so tense.
Just as she was about to get up and continue her photography, dull as it was getting, she paused, eyes opening and glancing off towards the west. There...not too far away was a figure, and without thinking too much of it, she flared her spiritual pressure as much as she could, though that wasn't saying much considering how weak she was. Still, it ought to attract their attention, and entertain her for a little bit.
Nina didn't even bother to stand, she just continued to lay there in the sand, waiting.
