“Ahau”
The voice boomed through the desert, it was a primal call as Iko called his apprentice to his side. The idea was simple, Ahau needed to learn better skill over his Cero. His potential was untapped and unsullied, so Iko would teach him. Cero to Iko was clean, natural and an instinct, whilst Ahau had yet to tap into the potential that lay dormant within him.
“Oh look at you nagging him, what if he doesn’t come? Then we won’t have anyone to play with, that’ll be a shame! Do you think he’ll notice me? I hope Ahau-senpai notices us! That’ll be so cute, so kawaii” for some reason, Iko wasn’t quite sure. But the voices that had separated in his mind had decided to be as frustratingly whiny as possible. Their current thing was slipping in Japanese words and being irritating.
Of course he’d shown Ahau the Gran Rey before but that was about as far as they’d gone with his Cero Training. Now was the time to show Ahau the armament Cero, a Cero specifically created to protect its user. The only other being that had seen the Cero so far had been Victoria in the forests, but now was the time to streamline its usage and make it a part of his existence. Teaching Ahau it? A mere milestone in its creation. A necessity of the abilities foundation.
The Adjuchas had grown stronger, he’d grown wiser and he hoped that Ahau had to. This training? It was a stepping stone for their own growth, between leader and lieutenant. The other Hollow was his wing-man, his right hand and so it only made sense for Iko to show him the potential that lay dormant within his old Hollow bones.
The white deserts of Hueco Mundo expanded into the horizon all around him. They rolled and tumbled and told a tale of the world, of the thousands upon thousands of Hollow that had fallen here. There was no more a natural place for a Hollow to learn the Cero then here in the middle of the vast white sands. On these white particles the first Cero had fired, the first bala had boomed through the air and the first Arrancar unfortunately had walked.
A cero coalesced in the air next to him. The predator picked the particles from the air with pure force of will alone. He felt them knit together, his heart beat and the particles seethed together with intent. This was but a standard Cero, not infused with the blood of a Hollow so it lacked the potential for a devastating power blast and it had not yet been corrupted with the killing intent of an Oscuras so it lacked the magnitude of destructive power that the Oscuras wielded.
The energy ball split and scraped against the sands underneath Iko, licking them with a flaming tongue of energy, melting the particles with such an intense heat it bound them together. Transforming the sand below him into a glass platform. A firm ground, to use Cero and master it.
The Cero recoalesced beside him. Iko nodded. Perfect. But then the Cero warped and twisted in the air, black static spread across its surface like ripples. The energy tainted by the power of the Cero, its destructive energy magnified ten thousand times without Iko’s consent.
“What did you do?”
"You did that”
“Don’t play games”
“But I’m all games. You are making me sad. Come on play with Ahau, toss the Oscuras at him. Burn his flesh and making his skull boil. Kill him”
He felt Ahau’s presence. The other Hollow had arrived for his training.
