"I will be back soon, Bertolt. Stay out of my things; if I ever catch you in my beauty supplies again, there will be much more than my anger to contend with. No more scribbling on my mirror, either-- I swear, you are a child.
...Be good."
A heavy sigh fell from her lips when the door closed behind her, fingers lingering on the doorknob for a few silent moments even while her body turned to face the hallway. She stared down it, the tired lines around her eyes melting into her expression as she righted herself. She breathed out slowly, a flicker of gold amidst the honey of her irides. She lacked confliction in this moment, the steady beat of her heart what she had built up to over these past few days. It almost made her giggle, stepping away from the door and allowing her hand to fall limp to her side; and then roam up her waist, trailing to the dagger that hung off the small of her back. She expected this climax to be more dramatic, yet here she stood alone within the walls of Las Noches. She knew she hadn't yet gotten to the point where things really picked up, but it was strangely... melancholic?
It mattered little if the ceiling dripped blood or screams followed in her wake, she knew. She could take this walk without them, the sound of her heels against the tiled floor echoing in the long corridor. Step by step she closed in on her destination, not another soul in sight. This exposition didn't matter, after all--
She had a date with the King.
Her resolve was renewed and brighter than ever. Why did you do this to me?
All leading to this culmination, her moment of truth. Like Nazomi? She had her plan of action and she would follow it through to the end; the very bitter end, no matter what. You don't have a choice, do you? Her body practically sung with her strength in every movement it made, a light slowly burning in her eyes. You're like a puppet, going through the motions. This was her will; her indomitability. Nazomi had taught her it well, and it was a lesson she wouldn't soon forget. You still have nightmares. You can still feel the glass biting into your skin. You see a deeper black every time you close your eyes.
She was at the peak of her strength. You've never felt so weak.
This was everything she had worked towards. Hollow isn't just a title anymore. You join your brethren in their emptiness.
She wouldn't run away anymore. Empty. She was going to stand her ground. Empty. This was the Queen's grand entrance. Empty. The throne would be hers, and she would show everyone. It was time to show everyone.
You just don't have any other way to run from your emptiness, do you?
How many times are you going to 'prove' yourself?
Doesn't something feel off to you?
Did it hurt that much when Jian betrayed you?
Did it scare you that far from the ideals you had found?
Have you even noticed you've been nothing but a husk since you returned from Karakura Town?
Do you notice the way Bertolt looks at you now?
You must really be out of options.
Are you even listening to yourself?
...Be good."

Jian could be blamed, perhaps. His face flashed through her mind-- very, very briefly-- but this wasn't about him. Not this time. He wasn't even worth the time she spent considering him, her tongue tracing a canine idly, feet slowing as they neared her stop. We still had hope. All he did, in the end, was remind her of who she was and what she should be doing. We could have been okay. Why waste away in dreams of grandeur over some pathetic love? I tried so hard for you. Just the thought disgusted her to her very core, retched bile like flames licking at her chest. You're a monster. He had been no more than another fleeting desire of hers. You destroyed me. He really was nothing, a nice distraction and yet another of her stepping stones. I hate you. Her resolve was renewed and brighter than ever. Why did you do this to me?

She would be Queen.
Does it terrify you that much, what you feel now?
This nothingness?
But you've always been this Queen of Nothing.
What do you think you're going to find here?
What do you think is going to change?
He's not coming back to you.

It felt so good, this determination, a grin splitting her even and fair features. It doesn't matter, even if you stand up to him. She ignored the building throngs of Hollow-Breed as she came upon the center castle of Las Noches, the residence of this false king himself. It won't make a difference. She strolled forward, her cocky grin melting away to a telltale quirk of her lips. This won't mean you exist.
She waved away any that looked at her, climbing up the steps and standing before the doors to the throne room. Her throne room. This reminded her, ever so vaguely, of when she met with the ex-Primera Takua; but this time, this time it would be on her terms. This game, this fight-- this was her consecrated ground she held. Her hand pressed against the stone and she steadied herself, reiatsu unfurling from her frame and exploding outwards. Lavender thrashed about, vibrating the immediate area with the force of her spirit and sending cracks along the floor under her feet. Thin, almost nonexistent trails of gold were interwoven with the soft purple filling the air like a dense, chaotic fog, but it was nothing like the tendrils of burning fire she had showcased in her fights against Nazomi and Jian. You've lost so much.
It was time. With a rough shove of her hand and a searing flash of green, she pushed her way into the room and boldly marched forward. The moment she stepped over the threshold, ignorant and uncaring of anything else happening, she shouted her demand in a proud, arrogant tone befitting of the Queen herself. "Erasmus!"
This won't prove anything to anyone. "Erasmus!"
She stood in the center of her mass of energy expanding still, sparks of green fettering her outstretched palm as the declaration of war pointed directly towards the man and his throne. "I am here for the throne!"
"I am the rightful Queen of Las Noches and Hueco Mundo! No longer will I stand by and allow your reign to continue! You will stand down, now, or I will tear this world from your grip."
Venom dripped from her words and the spirit of her rage roared in similar defiance. This was the only hope, the only salvation, left to her.
I promise that I exist.
